Great CRM for streamlining field service management

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Great CRM for streamlining our entire business. We are a SME and have been using Simpro since 2018 to manage everything we do. It is easy to navigate and has amazing automation features which has helped reduce manual work and improve productivity. The integration with our accounts package is seamless making reconciliations very easy. Overall Simpro has made a significant impact on our business management and I would recommend it to any business looking for a user friendly CRM.

Pros

  • Reporting
  • Scheduling
  • Operational efficiency

Cons

  • Expand integrations with other software
  • More flexibility around report customisation
  • Better understanding of BI Reporting

Likelihood to Recommend

Simpro is well suited for job and team management, tracking inventory and the workflow is very logical. The mobile app for our field technicians works very well to clock on and off and then being in a position to report to a customer based on factual information has made invoicing a breeze! Reporting can be a bit frustrating especially on materials used on different cost centre numbers as you can only specify a job number, but not a cost centre number.

A great, ever-improving tool

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use SimPRO for sales, support, and technical teams. It is very useful to do everything from preparing quotes, jobs, schedules, invoices, and keeping clients' contacts. One of the best things about simPRO is that they have a great support team who is very friendly and happy to help; their ideas portal is also great, you can add suggestions and if they are popular and voted by the community of users, they end up being implemented. So yeah, my overall experience with simPRO is great. They are always looking at improvements, which is key for a software company like them, as things are constantly evolving.

Pros

  • Friendly customer service
  • Constant improvement
  • Good webinars

Cons

  • Ability to create leave forms for the employees (to my best knowledge, this doesn't exist).
  • Ability to color code jobs, quotes by criticality.
  • Assign status to equipment (e.g. "ordered"; "arrived").

Likelihood to Recommend

Very convenient to manage jobs, quotes, and clients' profiles. There is a home for improvement for project management. So far, I am not really happy with the Gantt chart feature, it is not very customizable and we end up with another system for that. It would be also great if there was a project management dashboard where we could have an overview of the most critical projects and their status.

A must-have for any trade business

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use simPRO to manage all of our quotes, jobs, invoicing and business reporting. We typically manager over 150 jobs at a time so simPRO gives us clear visibility of each stage of a quote & job.

Pros

  • Custom quoting.
  • Custom invoicing.
  • Reporting.

Cons

  • Scheduling is quite outdated.
  • No real-time geotracking of employees.
  • Only accepts Square as an online payment method (no applepay, PayPal, BPAY, etc.).

Likelihood to Recommend

simPRO will work well for businesses of any size.
The implementation process is a little difficult compared to other systems, but by putting the time into the implementation you get a lot more custom workflow system.
It is however quite pricy for small trades businesses.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We utilize simPRO as an all-in-one billing, inventory, and labor tracking system. Before simPRO, labor hours and employee location tracking were all in paper format. Inventory was managed from a separate system and job tracking was simply written on a calendar. We now have a system that allows all members of the team to properly collaborate and manage the different projects and jobs properly.

Pros

  • Inventory management.
  • Labor tracking.
  • Employee tracking.

Cons

  • Offline GPS bypass.
  • Deeper levels of inventory sub management.
  • Coser cost center cross discovery.

Likelihood to Recommend

Clearly built for employers with small house call businesses, this system is great for standard billing and large to small jobs with a typical service team. When engaging in more government-style projects and jobs, it falls a little short without the added expense of custom programming throughout the system.

Great product for a larger construction company

Rating: 6 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

To manage/create quotes, and manage equipment, vans, and projects within the business. We wanted to use the system to help manage the business as a whole and have a single place to manage the quotes for our customers and projects so that we could see what was happening easily. We also wanted a way for the engineers to sign off jobs when they were onsite. The initial problem was that we were having 3/4 places where quotes were located and project documents were stored.

Pros

  • Management of plant equipment
  • Management of projects

Cons

  • Converting quotes into projects.
  • Managing a project in an easy way and managing the labour for a job.
  • having the flexibility to manage labour days and not in just hours.

Likelihood to Recommend

It's well suited for a larger company where they have a large number of plant equipment and projects which are based around hours and multiple people being involved. The quotes themselves were a bit difficult for us to use and it struggled to link with Sage so we would need to do everything twice.

Best thus far and always improving

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

simPRO has been a great tool for our business. We have transitioned from all our other PM software to this and it has been great! It did take some time to set it up initially and we are still learning new things every day. All in all tho, it has been great. I do wish we had more options on the BI reporting to pull reports in real-time rather than every 24 hours. I have been in contact with customer support though and they have been helping me to work on a solution.

Pros

  • Real time quotes utilizing the catalog.
  • Job costing.

Cons

  • More options on the BI Reporting.
  • Ability to customize views similar to Knack or Sales Force.

Likelihood to Recommend

This software is great for the construction industry. Especially if you are doing in-home estimates. For example, it would be the best option in the industry, to my knowledge, for an HVAC, electrical service or plumbing business. They are always listening to their customers and evolving based on the customer's feedback and needs.

simPro is the way to go

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

simPRO is used from sales quotes to job cards to billing to export to our accounting software. It's end to end, so all records are retained. It is very user-friendly; we've sold it to 6 other companies across the country and all are very happy.

Pros

  • Billing: straight from a closed, complete job. Carries overall equipment, hours, takes one click to bill.
  • simPRO retains notes on all emails; notes can be entered by anyone to track communication with clients.

Cons

  • Mobile app-tech clock in and out, but simPRO hours scheduled for the job does not change. It must be changed manually.
  • simPROasks for requests to improve, but it can take years for important reports to be implemented or created.

Likelihood to Recommend

Works well if you want to have your whole staff work on one program, from sales to invoicing.
