Used for KPI dashboards, monthly/quarterly financial reporting, tracking data sets, and manipulating data. I have used Sigma to make dashboards interactive, creating input tables for different teams to adjust scenarios on the fly. I have also created many datasets in the background to improve the calculation and loading speeds of common Excel dashboards.
Pros
Grouped aggregations
Input tables
Controlling level of access
ETL processes
Cons
Center justification of data
Hiding input tables based on permissions
Sending email updates when tickets are complete
Likelihood to Recommend
Sigma is well suited in table creation and showing aggregations at different levels. I enjoy using it to create clean tables that automatically update based on datasets/snowflake tables that they are connected to. It is less appropriate for external reporting because you are not able to adjust column colors and some other nuances in formatting in its current state.
I utilize Sigma to visualize datasets that I have curated in snowflake. Sigma allows us to identify issues within our products and services to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Pros
Allows end users to easily dive into the data without having direct access to the table in our database management software.
Can easily turnaround dashboards that are detailed and visually pleasing.
Sigma is intuitive and as new features are rolled out it is easy to adopt and incorporate them into new and existing dashboards.
Cons
Improved period over period functionality within the KPI Visual that would allow me to compare one year to another without including all years in the visual. I.E. the primary value is 2022 and the comparison line is 2021.
Greater ability to customize aspects of different visuals such as color, font and font size.
The ability for certain elements or blocks of elements to move as one scrolls down the page. I.E. I would enjoy the ability to create a set of filter elements along one side of the dashboard that scrolls with the user as the user scrolls down the page to view various visuals.
Likelihood to Recommend
Sigma is intuitive to use and can be quickly understood i.e. versus tableau which is more complex. Sigma handles large datasets (10MM + rows) easily with limited load time.

We use Sigma Computing to query Snowflake data to run analysis on our clearinghouse data. One of our use cases is to identify pricing gaps with each of our clearing houses, instead of going to our AD to request for the underlying data from Power BI, these data are ultimately stored in Snowflake, we can utilize Sigma Computing to query the large set of data sat in Snow Flake on an on-demand basis. Sigma Computing is easy to use and intuitive, anyone who knows basic Excel is able to learn Sigma Computing quickly. The Sigma specialists are very helpful and good at follow-up with any issues users have.
Pros
Customer services
Workflow
Easy to use
Cons
To provide more trainings for new users
To provide more graphic display
Able to use formatting more easily
Likelihood to Recommend
I really enjoyed using Sigma Computing to query a large set of data, for our use case, I utilized Sigma Computing to identify any gaps for pricing current settlements of TBA. Currently, I have the ability to query and link different tables in Sigma Computing to display the current CUSIPs that are out of or in the settlement windows. Instead of requesting for underlying data from Power BI from our Developers, I can easily query data and show the end results in graphs. This helps me and our entire team to save a lot of time and resources.

We use Sigma to create dashboards used across multiple teams, mostly for tracking marketing metrics and customer support requests.
Pros
Customer support through office hours and the chat function are exceptional
Easy drag and drop for both adding elements and rearranging what's on the dashboard
Cons
It's missing a lot of the features of Excel so often we still have to use spreadsheets and switch back and forth
Likelihood to Recommend
Sigma is great for quickly pulling together a user-friendly dashboard, which we often share with cross-functional teams. I love that it can accept SQL as input to create the data and visual outputs, since we rely largely on SQL for data analysis. It works well when you need to track certain metrics over time. However, deriving new metrics from those directly outputted is difficult compared to other tools like Excel. We use Excel for things like pivot tables and more complex custom formulas needed for certain metrics.

It is a Cloud based data analytics platform that enables organizations to visualize and analyze their data without the need of SQL or advanced coding skills. Some business problems and use cases it addresses: Users can directly connect to various data sources to explore and query the real-time data It offers data transformation and cleaning capabilities which helps users to prepare their data without the need of complex ETL tools This platform controls and provide permissions, ensuring sensitive data is only accessible to authorized users. The use cases can be ranging from sales and marketing analytics, HR analytics, supply chain management and more.
Pros
Security and Goverance
Data Lineage and Versioning
Native Cloud Connectivity
Data Collaboration and Sharing among team
Intuitive User Interface
Cons
More visualizations
Offline Data Access and Export
More Connectivity for export to cloud storage
Complex Joins and Data Blending
Performance Optimisation for large datasets
Likelihood to Recommend
It is easier for someone who is not well versed with advanced coding skills. Suited when we have to work with real time data. Native Cloud Data Integration makes it a seamless fit. Scenarios where it is less appropriate: Sigma is not best choice when comes to advanced statistical modeling or complex ML tasks Where we have heavy customization and complex reporting demand Where user requires offline data access.
I use Sigma for visual reporting on a daily basis. It allows my team to present complex datasets in an easy-to-digest format. We use it for weekly reporting, deep diving into large data sets, and presenting a coherent solution to complex problems. It also allows for easy sharing and tracking of key experiments across multiple stakeholders.
Pros
Dashboarding
Pulling SQL data.
Spreadsheet analysis.
Cons
Speed
Visualization
SQL query assistance.
Likelihood to Recommend
Weekly reporting and dashboarding for key metrics are really well organized on Sigma - Experiment tracking is helpful as it allows us to share impact and performance with key stakeholders - Querying from Snowflake tables is seamless - Speed is an area of improvement as sometimes loading data takes a long time.

Sigma Computing offers various analytics use cases, including cohort analysis and spend attribution. Their mission is to empower everyone to explore data and make better decisions, and they have received funding and recognition for their analytics and AI products.
Pros
Support
UI
Data visualizations.
Cons
Price
New features.
Solution compatibility.

It’s great for companies parsing data through multiple clouds with multiple customer types or personas. It also is great for companies with disproportionate statistics because of bot problems. Sigma is really top-notch in these scenarios, but it seems to be a worthwhile investment if you are only in one cloud as well.
We are currently using Sigma for KPI reports and Histograms to determine how select models are performing as well as certain brands.
Pros
switch functions
bar graphs
Cons
Input tables
More visualizations such as Sankey chart
display a toolbar at all times
Likelihood to Recommend
It handles filters very well but navigating in Sigma is not intuitive. You have to do a lot of clicking around in order to say for instance, add a parameter. If you're going to be a tool that grows you have to make it more user friendly and intuitive. You shouldn't have to click everywhere in order to get to where you want. Also, you should have the option to add input tables and create input tables on the fly. That function is not available.
