There is need for the user interface of the site to be improved and to have more sleek appealing designs.
The software is some of the time clumsy and the search itself can be confusing. The licensing model might also be disadvantageous for extended teams that would like to implement the system step by step.
Likelihood to Recommend
Teamcenter is beneficial for companies whose PDM/PLM processes is quite complex and highly integrated between various departments or disciplines. But at the same time for small teams or for projects that will have little or no dependency on the collaboration features it may seem too complex and considered over-engineered.
Teamcenter in our organization plays an important role of company’s product lifecycle management framework. We use it to interconnect the processes of design, engineering, and production in order to eliminate intermediaries. The system resolves major business issues, such as information organization, version control and the lack of efficient flows. Our solutions cover the integrated product data requirements integration of change management processes and real-time global collaboration.
Pros
Teamcenter stands out when it comes to compiling data belonging to a product for easy access by various parties.
They are also impressive to know about the capability of the platform regarding large data and complex products. Also integration of Groco with other systems such as CAD tools and ERP has helped in eradicating manual transfer of data thereby improving efficiency.
It has an effective change management structure that helps in noting and inputting changes without complications.
Cons
Teamcenter can confuse users, especially novices and training employees to use this software may take a lot of time.
Customization is also time consuming and most of the time is needed IT assistance. The reporting could be a tad better which is why sometimes, creating extensive reports take several steps. Having a clearer dashboard and easier setting modifications could be a major improvement to the current design.
Likelihood to Recommend
Teamcenter is perfect for working in large-scale projects related to manufacturing and engineering where collaboration and management of data are crucial. It is evident where the complexity of the products is high such as in automobile and aerospace industries. Some of its features may seem too elaborate for the small business with a less complex process and therefore too expensive. It is less useful in organizations that do not have complex PLM needs or have less IT capacity to implement the system.
We employ Teamcenter as a means of PLM or product lifecycle management that allows it to control change and facilitate approval by design, engineering and manufacturing departments. It eliminates issues such as data isolation ineffective at work or job flows and the inability to track project progress. It also involves managing assemblies and transitions from one team to another as well as facilitating easy transitions between them.
Pros
The easy data management and integration of the dataset among the Teamcenter systems is one of the strengths of the product.
Its change management allows for change to be managed effectively and ensures that change requests are documented and enacted correctly and the reporting of the platform allows for enforcing accountability with regards to project progress. This article is remarkable for the presentation of the ability to manage BOMs at different stages.
Cons
It may take considerable efforts and time to customize some of the features found on the platform and the over all design can prove rather complex more especially to users who are new to such platforms.
Some features such as analytics are more complex and time-consuming than others and therefore must have extra preparatory work.
A better designed graphical user interface would be even more useful in experience sense.
Likelihood to Recommend
Teamcenter may be useful for companies with a complicated product design such as automotive or aerospace industries. But when the issue is concerned with a set of products or less preferable with limited group members it might seem over-complication. This does not suit the organizations which may require some specific customization according to their nature and requirements.

Teamcenter has been a very vital part in our products journey. One thing that I like very much with Teamcenter is the collaboration tools that it provides. The integrated workflows allow us to manage everything from a centralized location. The single source of product information allows us to expedite our product lifecycle management and get our products to market faster.
We mostly use Teamcenter to track all our property processes and sales. I like how easy it is to track different milestones with this tool and how we can involve our stakeholders in this process to avoid any misunderstandings or errors in the construction, marketing and selling process. We also use it to keep track of all the documents that are needed in our projects, such as permits and contracts that we need to adhere to, and Teamcenter has done a great job at being the central tool when it comes to organizing these files, as well as protecting them thanks to the security measures that it offers, making them accessible to only certain people.
Pros
Teamcenter is a great PLM tool that allows collaboration between our teams, it’s possible to create a variety of teams that can all collaborate in one environment and share relevant information, I like that all the data can be integrated into the application so that it’s more organized and structured.
When working with Teamcenter, the roles can be properly distributed so it’s easy to see all the workflows and things that need to be done.
The interface is very nice and you can work through it if you don’t know some features. I like how well-integrated everything is and how easy it is to use and implement into your daily work routine.
One of my favorite aspects of Teamcenter is its reporting tools, they are definitely some of the best tools I have tried, allowing me to integrate data from different places into the platform and analyze it in different ways. Analyzing a variety of key metrics is possible and helps us have better results in our sales.
Cons
Sometimes the interface can take too long to fully load and that intervenes with our workflow. When working on it, the updated data can take a bit to appear too. It’s a very inconvenient aspect of it and I hope they improve it in future updates.
The customer support is not as responsive as we wish it would be, when we had a lot of questions in the implementing process they took a long time to answer and it slowed us down, I wish they’d put more effort in improving their customer service as they do with the actual software because it can help solve quick questions and bigger issues if they arise.
Likelihood to Recommend
I would recommend Teamcenter if you are constantly working with multiple teams and need one central space to gather all the information that is reunited in these teams, it makes everything so much easier and will help you enhance your abilities. If you need to visualize 2D or 3D lifecycles, Teamcenter is also for you.

collaboration
Cons
It's easy to get lost in the folders
UI is not always great
The search bar can be confusing
Likelihood to Recommend
Anywhere where teams need to work together and especially if they have long workflows. Teamcenter is there every step of the way from the first CAD model to the underlying assembly and all the necessary simulation setups and results. Teamcenter is an all in one tool for all companies using CAD.
We use Teamcenter as the source of truth for all Product Engineering Designs. The system has been live for three years, and it was selected to deploy Change Control and a single source of truth for Engineering product designs.
Pros
AWC has a user friendly UI - Rich client was brutal in that respect.
Global Search is powerful.
Cons
Opening up workflows from the item revision is complicated.
Browser users typically only care about downloading PDFs. Can you enable this feature in the global search or home page?
Creation of items in mass, or simple bom changes in many items.
PDF print does not work on any version; we get so many complaints from the users on this.
Allow deletion of items to be more simple.
Item rev ID changes are blocked in AWC but in Rich client you were able to do it.
Multi level impact analysis for item revisions with revision rule as a filter.
Likelihood to Recommend
TC AWC is the most user-friendly PLM system in the industry. Siemens's support and continuous feature releases are phenomenal. The only area for improvement is the SaaS model; the services are overpriced for the quality of work we receive.
