We use ScienceLogic SL1 to monitor and keep tracks of all the alerts. We have created a dashboard in ScienceLogic SL1 which helps us to identify us which site has went down and which service is affected. With this it helps us to reach out to a particular team to resolve and rectify the issues at the earliest. Also with the alerts generation we will be able to know if the issues is resolved or still ongoing.
Pros
Triggers alerts if some service or site is down
Helps us to identify the exact issue to resolve as soon as possible
It is user friendly
Cons
In the unified view we have widget as HTML, it would be better if there is any room for other coding areas
It could be good if we could schedule time for suppression like how we have for maintenance window
I could think of only these 2 for now
Likelihood to Recommend
It helps to understand the structure clearly. It gives us an alert showing that some service is down, or some site is down which will help us to rectify it at the earliest. Because of this MIM can be avoided, and since we will be notified at earliest we can resolve that at the earliest.

I am using ScienceLogic SL1 for monitoring network devices for different customers for availability and fault management.
Pros
It is a multi-tenant platform and customer traffic segregated
It is easy to use monitoring platform
It has bidirectional integration between ScienceLogic SL1 and ServiceNow
It also has bidirectional integration between ScienceLogic SL1 and Restorepoint
Cons
SSH Password Management for the servers need to be added to ScienceLogic SL1 for the STIG systems. ScienceLogic is unable to help anything with changing SSH passwords every 60 days especially when we have large number of collectors.
ScienceLogic should develop a contextual help page for each page for on-prem ScienceLogic SL1. It is currently directing to internet and there is no outside connection to get help from ScienceLogic SL1 page.
Likelihood to Recommend
ScienceLogic SL1 is generally nice tool and easy to use UI. Navigation panel is very helpful and able to duplicate tabs. One thing it doesn't have Database tool built-into ScienceLogic SL1 for STIG system. This will be nice to have since it can be queried directly on the ScienceLogic SL1 page.

We use SL1 for our telco client to monitor a large number of network and system devices and metrics. It is a robust and powerful tool that meets all our needs, and more importantly, the client is satisfied with the tool. After some time spent getting used to SL1 and its capabilities, I would recommend it for monitoring large systems.
Pros
Large number of devices supported out-of-the-box.
Monitoring enterprise systems.
Automation
Cons
Visualization
Reporting
Complicated UX/UI.
Likelihood to Recommend
ScienceLogic SL1 is a robust monitoring and alerting tool, great for gathering large amounts of metrics. It is easy to set up for large enterprise organisations. The report button is a great feature for exporting data from the current screen, but other reports that include graphs are outdated and lack customization options.

We were primarily using ScienceLogic SL1 for monitoring and suppressing alerts during maintenance times of our servers enterprise wise. Throu the training we found out there are far more capabilities, unfortunately the contract was cancelled just after a year mainly because of the poor support we received when trying to tweak it to suit our environment, especially our DMZ environment.
Pros
Monitoring and adjusting alerts and their thresholds.
It is also a very good all in one administrative console.
Processing and normalizing collected data.
A dedicated Database Server provides all database functions.
Cons
Monitoring and management in DMZ environments.
A mobile app could also assist for some functionality as we need visibility 24/7
Support from ScienceLogic SL1 team was nott too impressive, after initial setup we were almost on our own.
Likelihood to Recommend
It is very good for monitoring alerts ans tweaking the alerts for doifferent devices is so much simplified from the console. Adding devices to the collections is also pretty simple after receiving the correct training around it. A collector group can be configured such that if an individual collector fails, other members of the group will pick up and share the load.
Our organization used to use over 50 tools which have been cut down due to the implementation of ScienceLogic SL1. Computacenter as an organisation has utilized and customized ScienceLogic SL1 as per our customer needs in order to serve them better, We have used the various dashboards and utilized ScienceLogic SL1 well. We plan on using Zebrium and more no code/low code tools in order to make our workflow more efficient.
Pros
Highlights alerts
Custom dashboards
Various customisation options
Cons
UI could be a bit better
Advance level of training in regards to Power BI
More training modules to use the low code/No code tools
Likelihood to Recommend
I have used ScienceLogic SL1 in various scenarios, ranging from monitoring to getting reports, I have also used it in scenarios when the dashboard had come in use to see a glance and understand the incidents happening and which ones require attention. ScienceLogic SL1 sometimes does not connect with legacy system with ITSM very well, when the alerts are cleared in ScienceLogic SL1, they still remain in BMC Remedy which is an ITSM tool.

Clients like the features and compared to other tools, it's pretty stable. ScienceLogic is the best way to keep an eye on all of your IT assets from one place. There are movable UI parts that make it easier to use the product. With real-time tracking data and Simplified UI parts of the Science logic or SL1 platform, it's easy to keep an eye on all of an organization's IT assets. The software gathers SNMP data from various IT parts and keeps it all in one place in an organized way.
Pros
Keeps data organized and accessible.
Offers real time tracking data and simplified UI parts.
Offers AIML for identifying unusual situations.
Cons
Pricey modules and difficult literature to understand.
AIOps theory causes false results and false alarms.
User experience and customer service team response takes time.
Likelihood to Recommend
In most scenarios, ScienceLogic SL1 has been very useful, and there are many pros to using it. It is also easy to use. This tool can be used instead of many other tracking tools in a business. It's simple to make dashboards from scratch. I recommend ScienceLogic SL1.
ScienceLogic SL1 is being used for management and administration of Customer's Infrastructure (Servers and Network Elements).
Apart from Monitoring the Customer Infrastructure, SL1 needs to be integrated to data lake to ensure efficient reporting and limited load to the Monitoring Module. SL1 PowerFlow was used for this integration.
In the existing engagement, expectation was to migrate from old monitoring suite to SL1.
Pros
Custom Integrations via SL1 PowerFlow
Ability to configure Run Book Automations
Customize the Dynamic Applications as per requirement
Cons
Buggy Software. A lot of features which must have worked out of the box were fixed during the course of implementation. This led to a lot of delays in delivery.
Limited documentation for Custom Development in SL1 PowerFlow and/or ScienceLogic SL1 Monitoring Suite.
Example: There are no best practice recommendations for:
Custom Monitoring expected out of Scripts hosted on Agent-Based Systems.
Custom Development which would be required for Integrations configuration via SL1 PowerFlow
Sluggish Support: After logging a Support Case, it takes too long for resolution / response. Really strange that there's limited tracking despite escalations.
Professional Services Subscription
Likelihood to Recommend
Appropriate if you are setting up a monitoring suite in new Infrastructure Environment.
Definitely NOT suited for Migration Projects. ScienceLogic SL1 cannot cater to a lot of monitoring requirements which already would have been configured in old monitoring suite. Plus, limited support for customizations and having to go to "Feature Requests" route makes in extremely complicated.
It is used monitoring infrastructe of our client, and [...] provides the management of the software, implementing all the monitoring for their servers and infrastructe, integrated with the ITM event management. We have some customer that uses ScienceLogic SL1, so we have a variety of thing to monitors and a problems.
Pros
Monitoring Services
Monitoring Infrastructe
Event Management
Cons
Simple & easy to use
Very Intuitive
Easy to administrate
Likelihood to Recommend
I think ScienceLogic SL1 is well suited for a scenario to monitor servers or infrastructure resources in order to detect any kind of problem to solve an to not affect the service of your company. I think it is less appropriate the software to monitor web pages or applications to anticipate a posible down of the page

We had to create test environment to see all possibilities and functionality of ScienceLogic SL1 monitoring as we have plan to migrate it from current ITM/Netcool monitoring. What is surprising is fact that ScienceLogic SL1 giving so many ways to monitor different things like Storage, DB, Cloud, OS systems itself etc. Moreover ScienceLogic SL1 is so user friendly and it's really easy to navigate between functions. It seems to be very powerful software. I would recommend ScienceLogic SL1 to all of them who are looking for really useful monitoring tool and expecting easy way of managing it.
Pros
Switches monitoring
DB monitoring
SNMP monitoring
Cons
General documentation for implementation and configuration
We are managing ScienceLogic SL1 as a monitoring tool and Netcool.
Pros
It can monitor any Network devices, Operating system, processes, hardware and many more.
Cons
some more flexibility should be there like , it should provide functionality to get tcpdump if user is facing network disconnect between infra servers to devices
Likelihood to Recommend
