We are a managed service provider with responsibilities to monitor and remediate issues on client environments. Man-hours and scaling support per engineer is always a big issue, faster RCA and remediation or automated tasks helps to reduce effort to resolution. Scope is a large number of customers through a single monitoring platform, mostly infrastructure, OS and platform support.
Pros
Gathers massive amounts of metrics which can be useful when troubleshooting
Very customizable and open to modification and low-code additions
Support of the product be experts is extremely efficient and professional
Cons
Merge the nextui and classic to finally get everything in one, understandable that this happens over time but sometimes tricky to educate users to the subtle differences
Simpler integrations for the on-prem platform
Adding persistent device templates would be a welcome addition
When it comes to Virtual servers it sometimes becomes necessary to merge a virtual machine and an OS device that are in separate collector groups, this is a problem as DA's cannot be linked to a specific CUG
Likelihood to Recommend
Any environment where end to end infrastructure monitoring is required, the ability to discover and map out every component is very powerful and critical in speedy RCA determination

I have used ScienceLogic SL1 in various scenarios, ranging from monitoring to getting reports, I have also used it in scenarios when the dashboard had come in use to see a glance and understand the incidents happening and which ones require attention. ScienceLogic SL1 sometimes does not connect with legacy system with ITSM very well, when the alerts are cleared in ScienceLogic SL1, they still remain in BMC Remedy which is an ITSM tool.
ScienceLogic SL1 one is pretty good, we are able to monitor our services. One thing is that availability report is a pain point to us. We need to take track of availablity report manually.
Pros
For us url monitoring it's working well and we are able to solve issue before incident came.
Alerting mechanism is good
Cons
ScienceLogic SL1 has to take apportunity from people those are customising the power packs and synck packs, that ScienceLogic SL1 have to adopt in there own product so that will help other to solve similar kond of problems.
If some teams are spending there time on customising the product so ScienceLogic SL1 may can buy there customisation and implement in ScienceLogic SL1 product itself
Likelihood to Recommend
As it is customisable, any one can use it according to there requirements

We are implementing this tool for client IT infrastructure monitoring. We have multiple issues like some parameters are not supported in Palo Alto devices and we can not monitor Panoroma. And in Eventing console will Parent host name for any DB instance. In Meraki Power Pack many make and models are missing so every time we need to add manually. Like that we have many issues.
Pros
Dashboards
To monitor Servers
Documentation
Cons
To Improve in Palo Alto monitoring Parameters
To Improve in Meraki Power Pack as many make and model missing
To add parent device in event console for any DB
Eventing console filleter issue
Need to improve or increase more no. of device to add in Dashboard as we have limit for 50 devices in one site .

Support issue and engineering team needs to improve
ScienceLogic SL1 is a very good platform for learning. Complex tool with a lot of features, some left to be described. It seems like very capable tool, although it does have some shortfalls. of course many monitoring platforms have these, as its a difficult task to make a single product cover all bases.
Pros
Tool is very capable
Good learning platform
easy to monitoring
Cons
Complex tool but manageable
Likelihood to Recommend
Science Logic is a next-level and all-in on one solution for monitoring IT assets. Its simplified UI components navigate the product in a very easy-to-use manner. Science Logic has been a strong partner to work with the product is very good and is very customizable I have not found a situation that SL1 will not perform.
ScienceLogic SL1 is used within our organization as a tool for Infrastructure monitoring.
As an MSP we required to upgrade our tooling to allow us to properly enable monitoring of a customers infrastructure and alert at the correct levels from a device to a business service impact. Without ScienceLogic SL1 we were only ever able to monitor at a device by device basis and not see the entire overall impact a device outage could have on a business service and the business as a whole. We are also extending the usage of this to start automation of some of the more basic events and alerts so that we can attempt auto remediation & resolution on simple recurring issues. ScienceLogic SL1 has also given us the ability to properly look at root causes as we have more data from the various sources and can look at the events that occurred for those high priority issues in greater depth.
Pros
Automations
Discovery
Deep Monitoring of different OS/Network Devices
Cons
Some of the User interface still requires work
Monitoring of non common hardware
Likelihood to Recommend
I think ScienceLogic SL1 is very good at being able to properly paint a business service overlay picture which gives greater depth of root cause and impact on what an outage will cause to the company.
We provide monitoring/AIOPS based managed services to multiple medium to large enterprises. The product helps us provide "monitoring as a service" which includes the platform components and the experience and skills required to implement and manage the service. This allows businesses to concentrate their efforts on their core mission
Pros
Automation & low code/no code collection options.
Support for traditional data centers, cloud-native services and hyperscalers.
Multi-tenancy.
Cons
Increase out-of-the-box support for technologies not currently covered.
Improve reporting ease of use/customisation
Likelihood to Recommend
Well suited to just about any scenario ie traditional, hybrid or cloud environments. Our customers have/do range from state entities, banks, insurers, retailers and various business types. Whilst we do not have any "small" customers, I would imagine that it may not, due to cost, be suitable for many "small" customers. Also, more difficult to implement for customers who do not share the vision and goal of AIOPS & monitoring as a service etc. I would highly recommend the "workshops" (eg Clarity) provided by and/or conducted together with SL.
We use ScienceLogic SL1 for monitoring and alerting critical IT infrastructure, including cloud computing, networking, Windows and Linux servers, websites, bandwidth usage metrics, and SSL certificates. Nearly all of our IT infrastructure is supported by SL1 power packs and dynamic applications, including SNMP and API monitoring and alerting endpoints.
Pros
Integrations with ServiceNow for CMDB population and alert escalation.
Customizable collections of performance and capacity metrics.
The ability to customize event policies for alerts.
Native multi-tenant features and functionality in the platform.
Cons
The legacy EM7 interface can be overwhelming with configuration options.
RBAC roles and policies can be difficult to manage for larger organizations.
PowerPacks are required for nearly every vendor's platform, which requires software development resources in-house, or having to work with ScienceLogic to request and prioritize support for new vendors.
Likelihood to Recommend
ScienceLogic SL1 is well-suited for organizations with mature software development and/or DevOps teams so that SL1 can be used to its full potential without having to rely on ScienceLogic's product development release cycles. Organizations without in-house software development resources will have a much steeper learning curve, especially businesses with IT infrastructure not already supported by SL1.
Our infrastructure spans multiple geographically distributed locations around the world and includes compute, storage, and network hardware, as well as virtualization software that runs on it. ScienceLogic SL1 allows us to monitor our entire infrastructure with a single unified view of the current state.
Pros
Monitor diverse set of hardware and software
Provide single unified view of the current state of infrastructure
Cons
Application performance monitoring
Single view of all past alerts, not grouped by devices/monitored (i.e. "activity feed")
Likelihood to Recommend
ScienceLogic SL1 shines when it comes to monitoring multiple different environments and data centers, with a single NOC team responsible for responding to the generated alerts.
