We use Sage 50 for all of our accounting requirements in our organisation. This bespoke software solution is used within our organisation to support the team in recording all our day-to-day transactions, including sales invoices, purchase invoices, employee expenses, and other required financial transactions. The software also allows us to attach all our receipts to transactions, allowing us to go paperless and reduce our need for printing items.

Sage products in general are well known for non-profits needing to manage their organizations financial posture. Sage 50 allows the non-profit to manage cashflow, handle accounts payables & receivables, handle account reconciliations and provide financial reports to stakeholders.

We use Sage for our day-to-day accounting of receivables and payables. We also use it to order parts from our vendors by issuing purchase orders. We are able to look at open orders of hardware and determine what needs to be ordered in the future based on what is already pending. We monitor our past due accounts as well.

We set up a network, a multi-user setup, server connections, and a firewall config to implement and support Sage 50 software. Keeping up with updates throughout the year and updating company files.

I am the bookkeeper and sole user of Sage 50cloud Accounting for a small agricultural buying group. Sage 50cloud Accounting is perfect for our business as we have a large number of clients, who wish to pay by Direct Debit and the integration with GoCardless is seamless.
We also import a large number of transactions from a csv file and Sage 50cloud Accounting makes this incredibly easy to do.

- It is expensive. A cheaper option for small businesses would be good.
- A better way of logging conversations/communications with customers, for example notes on Credit Control. The current notes section is lacking and I make all my notes outside of Sage 50cloud Accounting.
- There are lots of reports that I don't use. It would be helpful if Sage 50cloud Accounting remembered the ones used most often, to save me trying to remember. For example, where do I find the report for unallocated sales receipts.
Return on Investment
- Collecting payments by Direct Debit was a great additional to Sage 50cloud Accounting and helped our business enormously
