Visual Vocabulary: Some users have expressed their liking for how Roadmunk offers a visual vocabulary to explain their agile process and its impact on customers. This feature enhances collaboration and facilitates effective communication with stakeholders by providing a common understanding through visual representation.
We use Roadmunk across the enterprise and with multiple business functions (project management, product management, technical leadership, strategic planning) - from the delivery teams up to the C-suite - across the globe. As an all-agile organization, we don’t create 1000-line project schedules and pin them to the wall; we use Roadmunk to convey what is happening around/between sprints and across dependent teams for work that is in flight, as well as major phases expected to follow. Similarly, we do product and portfolio planning in Roadmunk, which is particularly helpful given the dynamic market and inter-dependent product ecosystem we work in. Real-time, browser-based access to all of this information via Roadmunk really empowers and informs our teams.
Pros
Really engaging dynamic visual depictions; love that the legend is customizable.
Lots of flexibility with metadata tagging...enables us to tie in various strategic elements and other metrics, flags, etc.
Simple, yet effective UI that allows users to jump in and immediately be successful.
Cons
Initial limitation to Chrome as sole browser was challenging.
No iPad or other app available or plans to build one that I know of.
Would love to have a broader sets of integrations to other common corporate tools available.
Likelihood to Recommend
Well-suited: distributed workforce, progressive (as opposed to traditional) business processes / work management tool environment. Less appropriate: where roadmaps need to be directly tied to an agile tool (i.e., JIRA) or a time reporting or financial system.
