Planview ProjectPlace being intuitive and easy to use, is happily adopted by the users and helps us bring POAP (Project on a Page) relatively fast. Tool has made it easy for everyone to track what/when each resource is working on.

Planview ProjectPlace is relatively easy to learn and use. Anyone with the basic knowledge of Project Management can easily get into the tool, use self-help articles and videos on Planview Success Center and start creating and managing their Workspaces. Then the ability to connect Planview ProjectPlace to Planview Portfolios using connectors further enhances the ability to capture financials on Projects and align them to Programmes/Strategies, etc.
We use Planview ProjectPlace for: Project management - Assign tasks, set milestones, and track the progress of the project in real-time. Document management - In the context of projects and team collaboration, especially with external partners
Pros
Assign tasks, set milestones, and track the progress of the project
Communicate via the platform
Cons
Document management could be improved

Well suited: Discuss/communicate
via the platform also with external partners. External partners sometimes only temporarily
while the project is running. For
internal projects, we often use Microsoft's O365 world, which is what all our
employees have anyway
I have been in my current role for 6 months. Over my career I have used many CRMs and Project Management tools, but this was my first experience with Planview ProjectPlace. I was shocked how easily I was able to get up and running. This tool is quite intuitive and easily facilitates collaboration with my team. We use it to manage all of our projects within one Kanban, as our document repository, and we use the white board for quick and easy brainstorming. I think an area for opportunity for this tool is around automation. It is quite restrictive and for some applications this could be limiting.
Pros
Collaboration
Card creation from an outlook email
Simple to use
Integrated with other more comprehensive tools, for us, Planview Portfolios
Cons
Allow for custom automations
A community forum that isn't behind a password wall

If you have a large project or many small projects, a single projectplace board would be an easy choice.
Our company uses Planview ProjectPlace to help manage small projects and track daily tasks. ProjectPlace allows us to collaborate as a team and combine it with PPM Pro to get a complete picture of project status, outstanding tasks, etc.
Pros
Easy to use without requiring in depth training.
Tracking overall project status.
Easy to see what needs to be worked on/next steps.
Cons
More advanced reporting capabilities.
Better for team use, not as good for project management.
Difficulty with multiple projects at once.
Likelihood to Recommend
Planview ProjectPlace is a great tool for organizations to use to work collaboratively on smaller group projects. It can be difficult to use for larger scale projects and managing multiple projects at once. But, overall, it is very helpful to manage and track team progress.

Ability to chose and add multiple documents to multiple cards at same time

Like any thing, there are some great things and some things that could be improved upon. The workspaces are a great way to keep all the project documents, conversations, and tasks visible to all We have a few issues with some of the interaction between PPM Pro & ProjectPlace, but have seen some improvements in the last 2 years as well. It would be great to have someone available to answer more questions when come across something that doesn't seem to be working quite right

ProjectPlace is our official repository for all project documentation that we use/create as we go through our projects. It is very intuitive and doesn't take a genius to operate.
Pros
I like using the Reports feature and viewing the milestone report
Whiteboard and Templates such as the Retrospective and SWOT Analysis
Document Storage / Repository is easy to use and able to break down into hierarchy
The Kanban boards and Gantt charts are well done and very useful
Cons
Better Ad hoc reports
Large file transfers are sometimes challenging
There is no "undo" button in project plan

Planview is well suited for housing important documents.
Planview Projectplace is used as a standalone as well as with Planview Enterprise One in Flowserve. R&D and operational projects use the integrated method and there are other functions like legal and supply chain we use to manage patents and strategic projects. Users include people from all over the world and at all levels of employee, from associate engineers to C-level executives. Planview Projectplace has added lot of value for us, as most of our project managers fall in the "accidental project managers" category and this helped us to bring them onboard. We were very successful in delivering our organizational transformation program using these tools. It's been great asset for us!
Pros
Manage cards and boards.
Documentation.
Simple plan for simple projects.
Integration with Planview Enterprise One.
Cons
User administration needs to be easier. Deactivation and delete always confuses.
Custom field configuration at a higher level that can be defined to be used for a set of projects.
Likelihood to Recommend
Planview Projectplace is best suited for managing smaller/simpler projects and definitely for "accidental project managers," who do not know all the elements of project management. Using cards and boards helps any user/engineer to manage their projects. In my opinion, this might not be appropriate for complex projects which might have very complex plans--lots of task relationships or interdependencies--and track the progress in terms of schedule and financials against baselines. That is where E1 integration helps!
Projectplace is being used across multiple divisions and global-operating companies to manage our R&D projects.
Pros
Document storage.
Kanban boards.
Conversations.
Cons
Projectplace completion of tasks has to be closed on multiple levels and don't automatically close the task in PPM Pro.
Add a "due this month" option in Boards, sorting by the due date. I would like to see not only what is overdue and due in the next two weeks.
Finished tasks still sort as overdue on the boards even though they are finished.
Likelihood to Recommend
Projectplace is well suited as a tool to support quick project huddles for teams as it allows clear tracking and accountability of assigned tasks. I am less likely to use it when the project task list is overly detailed because it seems to work better in cases where the boards can be kept clean and at a high level.

Planview is being used to manage different projects and portfolios in terms of budget, resources, etc. It is solving our problem of transitioning to a more digital organization while creating more visibility in our work. It is being used across multiple different team within our technology department and so far, only our WHQ is involved (English).
Pros
Visibility.
Adjustability.
Cons
Allow for more customization with the tools.
Allow for it to be able to support high demand.
Likelihood to Recommend
It is great for companies managing many different projects and portfolios.

[Planview Projectplace] is being used to streamline our Project Management approach across our global business. We are implementing across functions one by one to centralize our reporting. While there has been a learning curve, it has created endless opportunities for advancement.
Pros
Notification management.
User permissions.
Gantt charts.
Cons
Reporting extracts.
Linkage between workspaces in one portfolio.
More viewing/editing options for users.
Likelihood to Recommend
It is great for global projects and for unique projects that require customization. It is not great for non-PMs to manage alone as there is so much opportunity for customization that it can be underutilized.
