We use Sitefinity as the CMS for our corporate website. It has taken us to the next level compared to our former website in terms of functionality and creativity in sharing our service offerings to potential clients.
Pros
The drag and drop CMS is helpful for non-technical users of the admin
Widgets make it easy to add interest to the pages
It is easy to add SEO to each page
Cons
Some features like lists and content blocks are not intuitive on how to add to a page
Documentation is a little bit difficult to navigate through
No other issues
Likelihood to Recommend
It is well suited to manage the content on our corporate website and add in widgets such as rotating images and pull in our Twitter feed. I can't think of a scenario that it would not be appropriate.

[It's] used by a specific department that supports an online shipping channel. Allows for end customer developers to build APIs to integrate their shipping systems to an online shipping system.
Pros
Easy installation
Great out of the box functionality
Easily customizable
Cons
More consistent update notifications
Likelihood to Recommend
It is an excellent CMS and digital marketing platform. It has very open API services and is ideal for organizations that look for inexpensive ways to integrate with their customers using web services. May not be ideal if on premise technical knowledge is not available.

We have used the Sitefinity platform to build out a custom Intranet site to store company tribal knowledge, as well as a marketing search engine and a mapping application. All of these have had a big business impact and have been done with a fairly low cost and quick timeline. We are very happy with Sitefinity and look forward to seeing how it grows over time!
Pros
Sitefinity is very flexible in how you can set up your site and what you can customize. It's a very powerful system with lots of options for plug-ins/integration.
The page editing tools are robust and easy to use.
The file management is easy to use as well.
Cons
The main issues I have had with Sitefinity relate to their support. We have had several bugs or issues in the back-end that have taken a long time to fix. We haven't been able to do a platform version upgrade due to all of the projects being done. They have improved their response over the last 6 months. This is not a major issue, just something to be aware of and look for.
Sitefinity is a very powerful system and can be complex. You need a great third party vendor to do it right. If you follow this path, the results will be fantastic.
Likelihood to Recommend
Well suited for medium to large organizations with complex problems to solve. Not as well suited for a small company as it is a complex system.
Sitefinity is being used organization-wide as the CMS of choice for our public facing websites.
Pros
Version 8 of Sitefinity proved to be a worthy upgrade addressing one of our main concerns in the past: Performance. Performance of the application is very good - makes the system feel lightweight even though there are a lot of complexities it manages.
Sitefinity is very easy to integrate and customize. My development team has been pretty happy with the product flexibility and the ability to add controls and create a unique user experience.
Easy to use for content writers and the marketing department. Eliminates the need to have "technical" resources in the middle between marketing and the actual content. Reduces time to market and empowers users.
Cons
Focus, focus, focus. Since the progress acquisition, the product seems to be losing focus trying to be everything for everybody.
Many of the "new" features" are too basic, lack maturity and are more marketing fluff than provide actual benefit. Lots of wasting time trying to make them work. For example - discussion forums, event modules, etc.
Need faster response to the ever-changing landscape of browser upgrades. New versions of Chrome, Firefox, etc., break functionality albeit non-critical, the user experience is impacted.
Likelihood to Recommend
Great solution for getting websites up and running quickly.
Great and solid performance.

We use Sitefinity as our main CMS for the entire organization. We have around 250 pages of information and 10 users who regularly contribute content. Our site has moderate traffic - around 50,000 sessions a month and Sitefinity provides a stable, easy to use, relatively fast experience for our visitors as well as the staff that manages content.
Pros
Sitefinity is very easy to use out of the box. Entry level developers and marketers should find it relatively intuitive.
Sitefinity is also easily customizable by more experienced developers.
Sitefinity provides the standard CMS features that you would want - approval workflows, content scheduling, etc., all for a good price.
Cons
We haven't been happy with the events module and finally opted on using a different system entirely for displaying events on our website.
We have also struggled with the process of upgrading to new versions, there are always errors that have to manually be fixed (though maybe this is a result of our own errors).
Likelihood to Recommend
Sitefinity is a great option when you consider all of the features provided for the price. It seems to be a great option for mid-sized organizations, especially if the developers have experience with .Net applications.
It is being used by our marketing department to manage our company website. We previously outsourced but have now brought the process in-house to be able to make changes quicker and on our own schedule. We are a small company and very hands on, we have two users for Sitefinity, myself and one other.
Pros
It is very easy to use and follow.
Training is simple because the product has a nice flow to it.
Cons
There are times when we need to drop in a content box and are unable to do so. Sometimes we need to quickly publish a page, and then unpublish it to be able to drop in the content box. This only happens occasionally, but it is annoying when it does happen.
Likelihood to Recommend
For those with not much CMS experience, such as myself, it is very easy to use and navigate. Changing content, pictures and adding forms are very simple to do. Forms are also very easy to create. I actually have not found any scenarios where Sitefinity is less appropriate. We have been using it for two years and are very happy with it.
