As a national contractor specializing in historic preservation, we rely on Procore both as our internal project management solution and as a collaboration tool when working with GCs, CMs, and owners who implement it. Internally, it has been a game changer, especially for projects where our project management team may not have a constant on-site presence. Procore has provided us with invaluable insight into daily project operations, significantly improving organization and efficiency across our projects
Pros
Daily tracking of onsite activities
Safety management
Photo documentation
Cons
T&M tracking is a great feature, but could be expanded upon to give those who use it a little more control over the data they are inputting.
Customizing the tools and fieldsets has a bit of a learning curve and can be streamlined.
Would like to see integration so that 360 photos are supported as well as video upload.
Likelihood to Recommend
Procore is particularly well suite to connect the office staff with the field, all in one place. While some integration/linking is being implemented, there may still be some redundancy if you are working on a project where a GC/CM is using Procore and you are also using Procore internally.
I have used Procore for many different projects over the years where I am a subcontractor of a GC on a larger site project. Activities include access to plans and specs, addendums, requests for proposals and change orders, submitting material submittals for approval, applications for payment, project status, etc. Procore helps to give me full access to all project documents that I need for my team to be up to date. It allows me to stay in the know on the project when I am unable to be on site or at regular weekly site meetings.
Pros
Pay applications and change orders
submittal exchange - Whose court is the ball in?
Updated plans and specs
All contractors contact information
Cons
Updated project schedules - This could be more on the GC's plate
Status updates on pay applications/change orders getting approved
Additional features on the plans (measuring or red-lining plans and being able to send these drafts out to field employees)
Likelihood to Recommend
I feel that Procore, when set up properly by the GC/Owner, is a massive tool for any subcontractor or supplier on the project. It is a huge time saver for immediate access to appropriate project information at your fingertips. When used properly there should be very little room for error or miscommunication.
I personally use Procore mainly for the forms feature. Being able to have workers in the field select a pre defined tool or material form, fill it out, and send it in to us all while leaving a papertrail behind has helped alleviate many arguments. Once we are done with it we can then send it back with all updates attached to it.
Pros
Tracking updates done to forms
Reminding users of uncompleted tasks with an email daily
Showing metrics on a project's home screen so that everyone knows what has been done in a timely manner
Cons
If their app is closed too soon emails being sent won't send. Maybe pop up a sent message once it has gone through.

It is perfect as a communication software for documents and forms from a project to its home base. It does not have functionality to have forms for tools or material pull straight from an inventory. But it isn't made for that. It does however have connectivity with Align, a tool and material management software, so that this isn't an issue.
Procore has changed and improved the way I manage jobs. It makes it so easy for me to upload pictures while looking at a job to quote quickly. It makes being able to manage bigger jobs much more efficient as well. I can look at drawings on the phone with employees and discuss issues. I can always make sure my guys have the most updated drawings. It's a great way to store all job site submittals and specs where they can be accessed by anyone needing them from anywhere. The Daily log/reports feature is handy for tracking job site progress and quickly reviewing past days if we have an issue.
Pros
User Friendly.
Great to organize jobsite info.
Easy to share files between everyone involved in a project.
All the info you need for the project with you at all times on you iPad.
Great to track daily progress.
Cons
Sometimes it takes a while to get pictures to open.
A easier way to share info to people not on Procore.
Easier process to upload drawings.

Large-scale construction projects: Procore's comprehensive suite of tools, including project management, document control, and quality assurance, is ideal for managing complex and large-scale construction projects. It can handle multiple teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders effectively, ensuring smooth collaboration and efficient workflow. Projects with stringent compliance requirements: Procore's built-in compliance features, such as safety management and quality assurance modules, can help organizations meet industry standards and regulations. It provides a central platform for tracking and managing compliance documentation, reducing non-compliance risk.
I'm setting up/uploading all initial job info/documentation, drawings, and specs for projects we're working on. I also upload drawing revisions and documents as need once a job is set up. It keeps me from entering duplicate information that may or may not have already been entered by someone else. It also makes it easier to find information once uploaded.
Pros
Accessibility.
Being able to separate drawing areas.
Search field within the drawings tool.
Notifies you of duplicate entry.
Cons
Spec Area section needed, like how you can have multiple drawing areas.
Uploading time - not sure this one is possible.
Keyword search within the home screen.
Likelihood to Recommend
Procore having the drawing sections tool is very helpful for when a project has multiple buildings/areas, that way you aren't having to add any identifying characters to each drawing number and/or discipline to make it easily noticeable which building/area it goes with.
Being able to click on someone's email from within the project directory would be helpful.
Procore is extremely helpful with document control. For years we had folders in folders in folders full of drawings, specifications, addenda, etc., and it was always confusing because everyone had a different filing system. With Procore it has you use the issue date, received date, set name, drawing name, when you upload, which files everything based on date, so you aren't using the wrong documents to install work. A simple idea, but they execute it perfectly.
Pros
Document Control
Organization
Different Access Levels so Junior team members can't cause issues
Cons
Procore is so extensive that there is definitely a learning curve
While worth it, Procore is expensive
Could be optimized for better use for Estimators
Likelihood to Recommend
Procore is well suited for use with document control and keeping documents, drawings, specifications, etc., organized. Procore is a little TOO detailed to use for something more "rough" like being using for estimating or "pre-construction" type activities, you have to put a little bit too much information in there for the proverbial "juice" to be "worth the squeeze".
I use Procore in my Superintendent role in our Health Care division. I am responsible for projects in medical facilities that include renovation of Operating Rooms, labor and delivery rooms as well as many procedure rooms. Procore helps me with communication to all sub contractor, owners and architects. Documentation of all events in the daily operations of construction is vital to a successful project and Procore help me to achieve that.
Pros
Daily logs are simple to use but complete enough to communicate what happens on thew job site daily.
Email notifications help remind people to respond to RFI's, punch list items and other required items.
Everything needed to complete a project located in one application.
Cons
The mark up tool for drawings is very limited and I don't often use it.
I better way to understand the mapping of what fields go to what individuals for example RFI's.
When an icon shows up on the mobile app that a process was not completed I have no idea where to look to fix the issue.
Likelihood to Recommend
Procore has been widely accepted by all the contractors we use. This helps everyone stay up to date on changes and communication
I use Procore for bidding out projects, such as snow removal and landscaping. Our construction department uses it for construction projects as well. I love that you can have a central location for all the files associated with the project. I can see photos, site drawings, and utility paperwork. It helps solve the problem of multiple files being strewn about our server.
Pros
Bidding
Construction Management
Project Management
Photo Reports
Cons
The fact that it requires a price point gets frustrating, sometimes I just want a project to put photos in.
Should be easier way to add users to each project directory.
Sometimes there is so much on there it gets overwhelming.
Likelihood to Recommend
Procore is very well suited for project/construction management. I love the versatility of Procore. Also a great place to pull photo reports of the project. While I enjoy the bidding process, some vendors have announced their frustrations with having to go into Procore to get their bids. Overall, Procore is great though.
Sorry, but in my opinion, Procore is rubbish and way overpriced for what it actually delivers, which for medium size builders managing projects from start to finish, is not very much. Sure, if you have a staff of hundreds where everyone has just one job, it might work but I doubt it. In my experience, it's the worst package I have ever used and worst service and support I have ever experienced. Do not waste your time with their sales garbage.
Pros
Insurance register worked ok, but no quicker than manually using Excel!
Cons
Interface and interaction differs from module to module
In my opinion, horrendously expensive for what it actually delivers
In my opinion, quote requesting and tendering contractors module was a joke
In my experience, budgeting is unnavigable and overly complex
In my experience, permissions were a nightmare
Spent more time managing the software than managing the project
I feel the support team in constant denial there is anything wrong
In my experience, the help desk never read emails properly and must use keywords or crappy AI to answer questions with irrelevant answers. VERY annoying.
Likelihood to Recommend
In my opinion, just horrendous experience all around. I feel I wasted a whole year and $15K on a program that was supposed to do everything. It did, but just very badly.
We use Procore to manage all our projects from Preconstruction to Closeout phases. Having all information in one tool is a great way to manage projects whether they be big or small. I highly recommend Procore to any GC, Subcontractor, or Architect. Procore's customer service is top notch and all representatives are knowledgeable.
Pros
Invoicing Tool
Submittals
Change Events
Drawing Management
Cons
On Change Event Tool-when entering the line items, have to click multiple times to make a selection
Likelihood to Recommend
Having visibility for all aspects of subcontractor invoicing, from when the sub is invited to bill, to when the sub is paid.
