Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We were able to remove our print server and not needing to mange this has saved us lots of time and effort. The interface is easy to use for users that would like to add their own printers. The health checks and reporting also allow us to monitor data that we have not been able to in the past.

A smaller environment where there is not very many printers would not need something like this. The more copiers and printers there are the better. We have roughly 30 copiers and it seems to be a perfect solution for the number of users and copiers that we have. It is a good product

Easy to deploy and effective print management

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

All network printing uses the Vasion Print software to establish printing connections between our devices and our printers/copiers. This is also how drivers are installed and updated. Offnetwork printing is setup and enabled on a few of our printers.

Pros

  • Printer driver deployment and updating
  • Adding/removing printers using network groups
  • Remote printing for remote staff

Cons

  • Not a huge fan of browser extension based deployment but it does work.

Likelihood to Recommend

We were dealing with the MS print nightmare bugs and struggling to deploy printers. Vasion Print was quick to setup a demo with very knowledgeable staff helping through and minor issues we had. Using Vasion Print added simple remote printing when we need it and has been a very easy tool to use.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We were able to eliminate our old local print servers and buggy papercut program. We were getting constant helpdesk calls about printer issues.

Pros

  • centralized management
  • good reporting
  • totally transparent to the end user

Cons

  • adding multiple printers to a group has to be done one by one
  • SNMP status doesn't work the best
  • would be nice to be able to customize reports more

Likelihood to Recommend

For a company with just a few printers it is probably overkill but we were able to convert 150 printers very easily. Perfect product to get rid of old printer servers.

Vasion Print replaced print server headache

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Using Vasion Print to manage all of our printing needs without having a print server anymore. We were constantly having the print server crash causing user frustration and a lot of IT support on our end. Adding Vasion Print resolved all of these issues by taking away the need for a print server. It just works.

  • Needs a better way to uninstall old printers that were not installed via Vasion Print

It's great for any business struggling with print servers and deployment. Group policy was always a disaster for deploying printers and Vasion Print just works. It's easy to deploy printers and has saved our IT team a ton of time and frustration between the deployment and the need for a print server.
