Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use PointClickCare Core EHR Platform to check patient's EHRs for indications of respiratory symptoms and/or symptoms. We also use it to determine payer statuses and length of patient stays. Another thing we use it for is to look at medication and treatment administration reports. It is an important aspect of our business to monitor the number of minutes being documented for specific respiratory treatments.

Pros

  • It's intuitive to use and easy to navigate.
  • It has a comprehensive amount of information
  • It's great having the ability to create customizable reports such as Administration Record reports and Action Summary reports.

Cons

  • Sometimes the platform is slow to load.
  • I'd like to see the ability to search for patients using both the first and last name. Currently it's only one or the other.
  • I'd be interested to see the ability to change the color of the interface.

  • The platform has helped to increase productivity within our organization.
  • Increased workflow efficiency leading to less hours spending time compiling data.
  • Allowed our organization to expand the number of business opportunities -- the increased workload is manageable due to PointClickCare Core EHR Platform's usability.

Why you should, or why you absolutely should, use PCC

Pros

  • PCC's census tracking is exceptional, allowing for Medicare's 100 days to be managed on the MDS and billing part.
  • Cash applications are simple to use. Any errors in payments can be investigated immediately to confirm whether the discrepancy is due to inaccurate write-offs, billing, and even census.
  • The month-end closing process is clean and efficient, allowing the billers to ensure all matters for the previous month have been satisfactorily addressed.

Cons

  • It would be interesting to allow for a "post cash" aging view, whereby those who post cash can see what the aging will look like once a cash batch is posted. Otherwise, I have no immediate items which could benefit from imporvements.
