Project and portfolio management is what this tool was designed to do and it does it very well. However, asset management tracking isn't easily done. It would be nice to be able to track applications, assets, resources, etc. all in one place. We use this for document management related to projects, but tracking non-project work for resources is difficult.
We utilize PPM Pro to create a single pane of glass view for all IT Effort including operations, projects, and strategic initiatives. We are currently working on configuring resource allocation and planning for our roadmaps.
Pros
project roadmaps
project plans
program level management
Cons
project roll up health into program views
analytics - limitation on rows for dashboard reports
resource planning is not very intuitive

Program management work pretty well. Project management for waterfall. It is less appropriate for iterative project methodologies and requires other tools such as Agile Place or a Jira integration.
I have been using Planview PPM Pro for the past year in my organization and have been generally satisfied with its performance. One of the things I appreciate most about the software is its ability to centralize all of our project management processes in one place. It has a range of features that make it easy to plan, track, and deliver projects, including project planning, resource management, and project tracking.
One of the standout features of Planview PPM Pro is its ability to help us align our projects with our strategic objectives. The software provides a central platform for organizing and prioritizing projects based on business value, which has helped us ensure that our resources are being allocated to the most important initiatives. Additionally, the reporting and analytics capabilities of the software have been very helpful in tracking the progress of our projects and making informed decisions about where to allocate resources.
Overall, I would recommend Planview PPM Pro to any organization looking for a comprehensive project portfolio management solution. It has proven to be a valuable tool for us in managing our projects and resources, and I believe it could be equally useful for other organizations as well.
Pros
Aligning projects with strategic objectives
Reporting and analytics capabilities, including the ability to generate custom reports and dashboards
Integration with other tools like Microsoft Office Suite
Cons
User interface, a bit confusing
Mobile app is not as fully-featured as the desktop version
More flexibility in terms of customizing the software to meet specific needs
Likelihood to Recommend
Based on my experience, Planview PPM Pro is well suited for organizations that have a large number of projects to manage and are looking for a comprehensive solution to help them plan, track, and deliver those projects successfully. The software's ability to align projects with strategic objectives, track resources, and provide robust reporting and analytics capabilities make it particularly well-suited for organizations that need to manage their projects and resources effectively.
On the other hand, Planview PPM Pro may not be as well-suited for organizations that have a relatively small number of projects and do not require a full-featured project portfolio management solution. The software can be complex and may be overkill for organizations that do not need all of its features.
Additionally, Planview PPM Pro may not be as well-suited for organizations that have very specific project management needs and require a high level of customization. While the software does offer some customization options, it may not be as flexible as some organizations need.
