We use it to do payroll. The scope wasn't great, I'll be honest. I felt that the customer's service was lacking, so we're actually leaving Paychex as of mid-July.
Pros
N/A
Cons
Honestly, it feels like their customer service had gone more and more downhill after the last few years. It seemed like anytime I tried to get help, I was pushed away. It was very hard to get in touch with people and they sent some really rude emails to my company owner when he asked them to stop sending him as many sales emails because he wasn't directly involved with the company daily. And one of the sales reps was actually pretty catty back to him. So that was kind of like the final nail in the coffin.
Likelihood to Recommend
I guess if you're a huge company that's just trying to push numbers through and never needs more nuanced help, it might be a good product for you. But for me it was just hard to accomplish anything with them and hard to get a response. So like I said, after five years we're leaving.

I have used Paychex Flex previously and overall I like the product but I do not love the online app for employees. It is not as user friendly and many other systems.
Pros
Payroll
Holding employee information
easy tax updating
Cons
Online employee portal
Better online access through IPhone
More capabilities for employees to easily access information
Likelihood to Recommend
Easy clock in and clock out option through the app. However accessing the employee payroll is not easy for employees

We use Paychex Flex for our bi-weekly payroll and 401k management
Pros
Easy to use
Cons
In my experience, lately the service has become unprofessional and lots of mistakes have been made.
I think Paychex Flex seems to be cutting staff and customer service is suffering.
Likelihood to Recommend
In my opinion, system lacks quality control systems. More and more errors are happening for us. I think the cost of the service compared to other payroll service providers is very high.

I used Paychex with a previous organization to track time and attendance and process payroll. It was a sound tracking system for the employee's hours, and payroll was pretty straightforward for hourly and salaried employees. I could use it to verify against our other time-tracking tool to compare hours billed to various jobs.
Pros
Time and Attendance.
Payroll
Paid Time Off Balances.
Cons
System Administration.
Payroll Administrator Usage.
Likelihood to Recommend
Paychex was a simple payroll platform. It was easy to navigate employees' hours and paid time off. I had no issues running payroll every week for hourly employees and biweekly for salaried employees. The only struggle was when I would find a discrepancy. It seemed like the person who administers the system at the business level couldn't access and correct problems quickly. I often had to contact an account manager at Paycheck to resolve the issues. Rarely was an explanation or solution provided that I could handle at the user level.

I mainly use it to manage our company's retirement plan an average of five or more times yearly. I sometimes use it to obtain other general employee information. Another user uses the payroll section at least Bi-Weekly.
Pros
It provides a well account of Retirement Plan Account Information.
Alerts are sent to email when there is new information to access.
Employee access both online and thru app.
Paperless options.
Easy and quick access to paystubs and tax forms.
Easy employee retirement management.
Cons
Make it easier for employees to download the app without the employer sending a message.
Enable access to all sections for authorized administrators without the need for another administrator authorization.
Likelihood to Recommend
As an employer, it is well suited to access employee information from anywhere at any time with security features improved. When logging in from work, I prefer not to get an access code sent to my personal phone. An option for business email would be great. And when logging in to my personal account, I prefer not to have access to a business account.

We use Paychex Flex daily for our time keeping. The owners of the company use Paychex Flex for payroll, and tracking employees time and details. Typically works very smoothly to clock in and out. You are able to organize the system to make it work best for your personal use. The owners are able to make it so that you are unable to clock-in at home and or clock out (which can be a bit inconveniencing) but I also understand wanting limitations on these things. You can very easily open your tax information and print out, show your schedule, and request time off. It is probably the most simplified system I've ever used for clocking in and out.
Pros
Simple to the point all organized in one location.
For the most part very reliable.
1 touch and you are in your folio and you can make changes to suit your needs.
Cons
The clock in area needs some help when you punch in or out at times it doesn't take, which is frustrating.
Would be nice to have better access to clock in and out from home, I realize this is a program that is managed by the company that I work for.
Likelihood to Recommend
I love the program but the app that I was told to download by owners is useless with all the blocks they have on it. It is completely rendered useless with the blocks and reminds me that I need to delete this on my phone! More options with a calendar entuned to it and maybe some color options to make things stand out. Overall a good app but has some issues with punch in punch out button (sticking)
Just Jets Services uses Paychex Flex for payroll, healthcare and retirement 401K options for the employees. The original hope was it would be a one stop solution for the company.
Pros
The 401K plan has provided good option and clear cut management of this option.
Cons
Health care management and follow-up with heath care providers
Payroll deduction accuracy and monitoring.
Likelihood to Recommend
From experience, Paychex has a problem with communication both internal and with the client. I think Paychex has a terrible track record with follow-up of know issues concerning enrollment of employees into healthcare options. Issues drag on for months without resolution.
We use Paychex Flex as our sole HRIS system for the company. We currently have a very aggressive merger and acquisition strategy, so I am also involved in implementing it at the sites that we acquire.
Pros
Company Directory is very user friendly
The app for the end user is very user friendly as well.
Cons
In my opinion, Paychex Flex does not have good org chart software.
In my opinion, The Benefits Platform is underwhelming and needs work.
In my opinion, The support teams are hit or miss, we went through 7 different support users to find one that we linked
In my opinion, Communication from Paychex Flex lacks on major issues, which involved us getting fines for not submitting taxes on time.
In my opinion, the hiring platform is also underwhelming and needs work.
Likelihood to Recommend
In my opinion, pick any other HRIS system besides Paychex Flex. In my opinion, Paychex Flex is not set up for a growing manufacturing company. In my experience, there is a lot of turnover in the company which results in a lot of support not knowing the answer, or giving wrong information because they simply do not take the time to research. We have since moved our benefits outside of Paychex Flex because I believe Paychex Flex as a broker for benefits is useless.

We use Paychex Flex with the Time and Attendance add on. The Time and Attendance has allowed us to introduce PTO/Vacation options and removed the manual aspect of monitoring vacation time for each associate.
Pros
Time tracking
PTO Accruals
Mobile App
Kiosk
Cons
The communitive link between Time and Attendance and Pay role needs improvement. When there is an issue, one always says reach out to the other.
Likelihood to Recommend
Managers need additional permissions/access to edit PTO balances. Currently only admins can make edits.
