Timely information for news, with daily updates if you like. And also easy access to other company information. You can easily click links to get corporate reports, public relations statements and the like. Also there are ratings on the executives and additional information that helps to paint a more complete picture of the organization.
Pros
Timely News
Snap Shot of the Organization
Links to pertinent information
Information on Key execuitives
Cons
Maybe a little more granularity
Maybe some AI capabilities to further filter information based on usage
More competitive information in a comparative format
Likelihood to Recommend
Maybe more integrations into platforms that might be used by my organization. The other thing is sometimes I would get alerts that would repeat on a daily basis, it would be nice for it to eliminate those automatically or I could click that it was read so I don't see them again.

Owler is a great tool for prospecting. In multiple roles where I've used their platform I've been able to expand my prospecting base by approaching businesses across an entire vertical that share a similar space with either a prospect I've landed, or a prospect that I received a "no" from.
Pros
Useful Daily Reports
Competitive Analysis
Prospecting
Cons
Making Custom Lists A Part Of The Plus Plan
Likelihood to Recommend
Owler is best used as a supplemental asset, as it allows you to get very granular on specific prospects. I believe its limitations lie in the fact that while you can see the competitive companies, it's difficult to get any prospecting information out of them ie., contacts, without going for the highest level plan.
Owler is being extensively within my department along with other tools for company research. It is very helpful as it gives a lot of information about a company. It can be a very useful tool if one knows how to utilize it. We fetch the revenue, headcount, competitors and latest news about the company from Owler.
Pros
Gives revenue and headcount of the company
Gives an analysis of the competitors of a company
Provides latest news about the company that helps a lot in research
Cons
The information provided is useful but at times the variation with other websites and tools is substantial which makes it difficult to rely solely on owler
Information only about bigger companies is available not for smaller and research on smaller ones are important as there are not many tools that do that
There are few companies that appear as defunct or do not exist but in the actual market there is a lot going on with them and being in market intelligence industry owler needs to capture that
It would be great if they provide revenue or growth of the in the past three years or so. As it would save our time and efforts to some extent
They need to maintain the database in aperiodic manner with precise information
Likelihood to Recommend
Owler is one of the tools that we use for company research. it gives great competitive analysis and news of company at one place but since it doesn't contain small company research and precise revenue and few other details the reliability on it is in question. If one has to gather a rough idea about a company then Owler will come in handy however a detailed in-depth analysis requires consulting multiple tools.
Signed up for Owler for market research. I am a commercial insurance broker in Las Vegas, focused on risk management for general contractors and specialty trade construction. My ideal client has roughly 20-200 employees, and $2-15 million in revenue annually.
Owler did not address any problems. Upon searching for 10 mid-sized companies that I am already familiar with as a test, all 10 had "incomplete profiles." As well, those with "estimated employee and revenue totals" were wildly inaccurate.
For example, 2 mid-to large companies that I am in touch with with employee counts of 100-250 are left blank in Owler. I am also in talks with a business owner who has 130 employees, but it is listed on Owler as 34 employees.
Pros
Potentially good source of market research for large companies with 1000+ employees.
Cons
Very limited information.
Inaccurate information, wildly misleading.
It is not user friendly for searching.
Likelihood to Recommend
Owler provides very limited information - they are unable to properly gather and assess company data, and when they do, they provide inaccurate information.

Employee in Sales (Insurance company, 1001-5000 employees)
Owler is used to provide sales intelligence into the prospect we are about to contact. This enables us to learn more about their personality and determine their best needs and ways to communicate. Some of the sales department use it, and it gives additional insight before a conversation begins with a prospect.
Pros
Personality assessment
Communication Recommendations
Cons
Detailed reports
Saving of profiles
Likelihood to Recommend
Owler is well suited for cold calling. This will allow the employee to gain a little bit of insight into who they are calling and how to best communicate. Owler can also be used to learn how to close a deal and what ways could connect with a person.
Owler is used by my sales team in order to add a level of personalisation that would take much longer if done manually.
My team has refined their own list of "best accounts" that they feel is a great fit for our company. They then simply add these companies to their Owler accounts and if something changes within the company, for example, a new project launched or new funding, the morning Owler email will alert them to this and allow them to personalise their outreach from there.
Pros
Streamlined - each SDR has around 25 companies that they want Owler to alert them about. The email each morning is short and to the point with nice abstracts of changes in the company making it quick and easy to find what you need.
If something changes in the company, Owler finds it - we have yet to find a compelling event within the company that Owler missed.
Doesn't spam - when they say one email a day they really mean it. No excess inbox messages.
Cons
The email they send out each day could be formatted a little nicer. The content is good, but it is "framed" in a box that doesn't nothing for the eyes!
There are optional questions added to the email that don't always make sense. e.g. comparing two companies that are very different and asking which you prefer. I understand why they would want this in there, but it needs to be refined a bit more.
More third party content would be good - quite often it is blog posts and changes on the companies careers page. This would be particularly useful for how people are perceiving a recent project launch.
Likelihood to Recommend
Owler is fantastic for any sales person looking to personalise emails and outreach on a weekly basis.
Best suited for any company that regularly posts to social media, their blog, or that creates "noise" in other influential circles that Owler can pick up.
Where it falls short is when companies aren't making noise. Not really Owler's fault, but if you want to find content and changes to a company that doesn't really post to social media or a blog you want have much to work with.
Owler is used as a blueprinting tool in the sales department to gather information about a company before a meeting. It's really useful for things like following news about a company, seeing if there have been any leadership changes, and finding out about recent funding. Also great for info on a company's primary competitors, revenue, etc.
Pros
Info for blueprinting new sales accounts
Helpful for tracking company news
Great source for info on company demographics, size, location, revenue, etc
Cons
More companies in the SMB arena
List of competitors could sometimes be stronger/ more relevant
Likelihood to Recommend
It's a wonderful tool for gathering information before a meeting, tracking a company you follow, and being tipped off as to when might be a good time to reach out. For example, it's great to learn about recent funding events that might make a company a great sales opportunity like funding or opening a new location/ launching a new product.
