This product is being used across our entire company. It allows us to interact with our databases to review and correct data.
Pros
Easy to use.
Beginner and power user-friendly.
Cons
I wish that you could view multiple tables in the same database at the same time.
I wish that you could easily open multiple databases at the same time in the same instance.
I often misclick when opening a database, so it would be nice to either launch it faster or not immediately open (or at least have the option to enable a soft validation).
Likelihood to Recommend
It works well for visually examining/altering a database. It fails at multitasking in databases.

Oracle SQL Developer is being used by our development team to provide introspection to the performance of our production baseline. Additionally, it's used during development to pilot capabilities, integrations and for rapid proof of concept implementation.
Pros
Seamless database management integration
Process stack analysis
Modeling and visualizations
Cons
Setup can be challenging if your schemas aren't well formed or managed. Also, the ability to model/develop extensions for an existing database solution will depend on how robust the DBA provisioned roles and designed the respective schemas.
Detailed analysis of models can be clunky for complex relational models.
Likelihood to Recommend
You can utilize Oracle SQL Developer for package analysis, prototyping, troubleshooting for all phases of the SDLC.

Pros
Presentation of objects contained in the database
Autocomplete of SQL code
Running multiple statements at the same time
Cons
Importing and exporting data to the cloud from on-prem
Code versioning
Prettier and smoother UI graphics
Likelihood to Recommend
It's well suited for all things database related.

To develop SQL Code and design database objects along with data migration across the whole organization. It allows us to import and export data to other data platforms. And we can generate quick DDL and review the tables/views and contents effectively. Since we are new to the tool and trying to migrate our data to the cloud, it would be helpful if the data export feature to the cloud could be improved.
Pros
It lets us create new objects easily and modify the DDL within the tool quite easily.
I love the data review tab that shows the data quickly and helps us profile the data.
Exporting data from one object to another is great.
Cons
Import/export data to the cloud.
Does not do a good job of auto-connecting to a previous connection and you have to go through a couple of clicks and refresh.
Likelihood to Recommend
It is well suited to develop new SQL code and create new objects.

SQL Developer is an indispensable tool used primarily for data mining and analysis. We have data in many repositories and using proper drivers we can connect to various back ends and merge data. Most non technical personnel do not have knowledge to perform SQL queries so we find using SQL Developer very useful in this regard. We like that we can also interface with SQL Server. So primarily we use it for data mining and analysis.
Pros
It easily connects to Oracle DBS.
The query optimization tools are easy to use.
Getting details about existing objects using scripts. It's portability into different file system like Excel, text etc.
Cons
It should be better at helping identify errors.
It could be better at extricating data.
Frequently requiring updates to JDK.
Likelihood to Recommend
Developing and testing database queries implemented in reports used by end users. Also well suited for debugging queries, though it could be better at identifying specific errors. It's interface is definitely designed more for developers than end users.

SQL Dev is being used in different projects since I'm working for a Consultant Company, it's totally related to the project requirements. It's so helpful to manage and query all the DWH instances and the database themselves.
Pros
Great Activity Monitoring
Great Management of Databases and Objects on the instance
Great Query Optimization module
Cons
Machine Learning Functionalities
Auto-format of the code
Resource Management
Likelihood to Recommend
Well suited for management of dwh both in small than in big sizes. Not really suitable for Big Data Management.
Oracle SQL Developer is used as primary SQL Development tool, across the whole organization. It's used for development using Oracle 11g and 12c database. It was also used to access IBM DB2 Database, before completely switching to Oracle DB. It's simple to use, for everyone, starting from developers to QA, to DBAs. Developers, QA, DBAs, Managers, everyone uses it, across the whole organization.
Pros
It's easy to use and has lots of inbuilt shortcuts, which can be customized as well.
Works with various DBs including IBM DB2.
Simple UI, with multiple tab support
Cons
When opening more than 5-6 connection tabs, it tends to freeze, even of a machine with latest hardware and 32 GB+ Memory.
The "Explain Plan" section of the query needs improvement. By default, it doesn't have CPU cost and partition details.
Error detail section can be improved.
Likelihood to Recommend
SQL Developer is a great tool when dealing with SQL Databases, like Oracle 11g, 12c or IBM DB2. For No-SQL databases, like MongoDB, this isn't appropriate.

SQL Developer is not directly used by my organization and for good reason. We are, however, forced to use it when we connect to our customer's networks and they sometimes have this as the only software available. This software allows us to connect to their various databases.
Pros
Easy installation. It is very simple to install SQL Developer.
Database connections. It is very simple to connect to a database using SQL Developer.
Speed of access. It is very quick to obtain a database connection using SQL Developer.
Cons
Viewing LOBs. SQL Developer does not support viewing large object types well.
Nested result sets. SQL Developer does not support showing data from REF CURSOR's or inline nested results.
Slow performance. SQL Developer is slow in general compared to other tools in this space I have used.
Likelihood to Recommend
Only when nothing else is available do we use SQL Developer.
