Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are extensively using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in our organization which includes IaaS, SaaS and PaaS services. With Oracle Cloud Infrastructure we are easily able to deploy the applications without much involvement of other infrastructure team. With Oracle Cloud Infrastructure management of Databases is very easy and with autonomous databases, we don't have to worry about maintenance work like patches, backups etc.

Pros

Autonomous operations of databases without much human interventions.
Easy scalability of infrastructure like, compute, storage etc.
Highest security because of data encryption and data masking.

Cons

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure could provide better integration with third-party tools and applications.
Migration from legacy system is challenging with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is expensive for mid cap companies

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is well suited for Oracle based application and databases. In our organization we are using Oracle autonomous databases which works best for us as there is no hassle of maintenance. Apart from that we are using Oracle e-business suite application for financial and HR purposes which works perfect with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. It even has predefined templates for Oracle products.

We are using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to store large amount of metric data and monitor them, which helps in real time data insights. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure help to process large amount of data in short time. Its easy integration with other different services and large documentation helps.

We use OCI for deploying our softwares. OCI is a great platform that helps in faster deployment, and faster application performance. It's also very secure platform. OCI is a comprehensive platform with robust support service, world wide reach, and has an option of distributed cloud that can be used wherever we need it.

Very flexible, dynamic, and easy to use

It's little expensive
mostly suitable for large scale enterprise apps
Requires specilized and highly personnels who can use this

Since it's expensive, its very well suited for the deployment and management of large scale enterprise softwares. It has helped us a lot in easily balancing the load on the app (especially in gaming app where there are lot of concurrent users), and ensuring that the app works flawlessly even with high load.

Some members of my organization performed tests over Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The results were excellent in terms of performance and the number of available data centers / regions. In fact, response times were great, with less latency than Azure and response times were evidently shorter. We were looking for an alternative to the costful, slow and limited IaaS Azure offer.

I just cannot be very objective. I received the request from management to perform an in-depth research on Oracle Cloud migration feasibility. Long hours of investigation and I concluded that yes, that's a superior product, not only for its IaaS but the Data management, automation and monitoring tools. Oracle recovered its place in the field with a very competitive product. I just got fascinated with it.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Oracle Cloud for servers used in production and testing. Our problem was finding a reliable infrastructure provider with a data center in my country.

Pros

VCN is excellent for limiting the port attack vector.
Free tier gave us a quick test of what we could do.
The offer of arm and x86 cpu gave us options to optimize our work.

Cons

More Linux images.
VCN could have more tools to check how much traffic is going through an specific port.
Updated guides (current ones are a little bit stale).

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is a great fit when you need High-performance infrastructure for mission-critical apps that require low latency and high availability. Scalable compute services for big data analytics workloads that process massive datasets. Support for DevOps teams looking to streamline their development and deployment pipelines. But it might not be the best choice for Small-scale or low-traffic applications where you can find cheaper options elsewhere. Legacy workloads running on older tech like Oracle Solaris or Windows Server, where OCI's support may be limited.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We came to know about Oracle Cloud Service and we thought of shifting few service to their cloud platform as we have policy to not to keep all data and service in one cloud service. They said their cloud is lifetime free and we created 2 machines in one account. But somehow all our machines were down on one day and all our data was wiped. So we decided not to use it further.

Pros

You can create multiple machines and they don't restrict you to 1 instance at a time during trial.
Large range of operating system images are provided by them with customization
Memory IOPS are better.

Cons

They really needs to improve their User Interface
Information on website is very confusing
No proper listing of recently used service
As of now services are very limited

As of now their service offering is very limited as compare to other providers. Policies are not properly listed and they're very complicated too in my experience. As of now they really needs to improve alot when it comes to their website and user interface in my opinion.

We have used Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for storing the data and for computing. Our project was data-centric, so we were storing the data with its help, The storage and retrieval of data was really fast and secured. Data Security and Privacy was really good. Performance was not affected due to its scalability feature.

It is good for large amount of data
It has a good backup and failover policies

Cons

Its Pricing is bit high
Knowledge is required to work on it

It is really helpful in the scenarios of Big data and Large data where the result display takes less time to display. Its user-based role assignation helps in increased security and Privacy. It gives a broad way for analytics.
It is less suited for small-sized data requirements as the cost to output is low.

We also use the monitoring services for tracking performance and any alarms raised.
