Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have started using the Oracle Autonomous database as a data store for Log analytics. It does ease the need for maintenance and is self-managing when it comes to performance advisory reports. But I will say it's still under evaluation in comparison to Amazon RDS.

Pros

We are using automated index management for one of our asset repositories.
We have had a big relief from the need for patching this database.
We did see a performance improvement when we moved the DB to Oracle ADB.

Cons

More deep dive insights on the data modelling chosen by the Oracle ADB.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Consulting Organizations on how to protect themselves from cyber predators. Oracle Autonomous Database greatly provides the kind of protection clients are looking for. In addition to it being able to do its job with little to no human intervention. Its covers any Organization large or small. Most people want somewhat of peace of mind when it comes to knowing that their data is protected. This software checks boxes very well.

Cost is still a little steep.
Continue to increase flexibility in accessing data.

Likelihood to Recommend

Pro - Stability. Does everything anyone could need. If it's not there it will be on the next update. There is plenty of support for it. It's been around for a long time and it's reliable. The support is well documented and has a great reputation.
Cons - Errors have been found in the documentation provided by Oracle with guidelines, etc. Oracles salespeople have a reputation of being obnoxious and condescending.

Oracle Autonomous Database is used across our organization to scale down databases for different workloads. It automatically updates data in our cloud-based databases with great security systems. We are able to secure and store large volumes of data in a secure platform for future reference. The cost of deployment is affordable and there is a lot of support from the Oracle company.

I can prove that Oracle Autonomous Database is the best platform for all data processes. It can be easily deployed at a reduced cost with lesser maintenance costs. It has reduced a lot of risks incurred in data leakages to unauthorized persons by securing our data is safe and secure features. Data processing is done effectively with a complete database lifecycle.

Pros

Autonomy is the key to this product.
Serverless saves you money.
Smooth usage for the same UI.

Cons

DB should provide private IP rather than public IP only.
It should provide one-click to import from other DB rather than using object storage.

Likelihood to Recommend

If you want DB as service, this is the best. It has better pricing with great performance due to its serverless mode, meaning no pay if no use. However if you don't need a large relational database or have a legacy DB application, another non-SQL DB might be a better option.

Stores data for a big organization that delivers excellence, security, and performance to the end-users, so that they can achieve their goals faster and easier. We want to utilize an autonomous database so we don't have to worry about burdens like patching and maintenance.

No need for patching, no need for updates. It's always up-to-date. It saves a lot of money because there is no need to pay for database engineers and other clouds to support databases. It is easy to replicate and duplicate databases. We like it for provisioning new databases and replicating old databases. Would like to see more innovation in this field.

Oracle Autonomous Database is currently being used for a certain department and we definitely looking forward to using it company wide. It's for daily application based processes that involve users to go online and content managed applications that requires users to lookup some data live.

Oracle Autonomous Database is good if you to try out a solution that need short term resources like a new feature in database. It has new application functionality that can be used for short term before implementing into the solution provider site or in real time. The solution offers will are good when used.
