TrustRadius Insights for Oracle Autonomous Database are summaries of user sentiment data from TrustRadius reviews and, when necessary, third party data sources.
Pros
Efficiency Improvement: Users have found that managing transactional databases with Oracle Autonomous Database has significantly improved day-to-day efficiency, leading to smoother operations, enhanced productivity, and a more streamlined workflow.
Automated Index Management Benefits: Reviewers highlighted the relief provided by automated index management for asset repositories in Oracle Autonomous Database. This feature reduces the need for manual patching of the database, streamlines maintenance processes, and ensures optimal performance.
Enhanced Security Features: Customers appreciate the secure and optimized nature of Oracle Autonomous Database. They emphasize its robust data protection capabilities, advanced archive functionalities for data retention, and comprehensive auditing tools for ensuring compliance and monitoring activities thoroughly.
The autonomous database contributes a great advance to the operation since the efficiency in terms of adaptation in different scenarios and different circumstances is much higher than the reaction capacity that the DBAs in charge had before its implementation. Additionally, the perceived cost reduction in terms of the need for personnel in charge of monitoring the operation is notorious.
Pros
The management of the transactional databases is carried out with the ATP, with an improvement in day-to-day efficiency.
Quick adaptation to sudden changes in workload.
Cons
In my opinion, The learning algorithm may have improvements to take advantage of new technologies.
In my opinion, the Database training models are not always the most accurate.
Likelihood to Recommend
The implementation in scenarios where transactionality is the most important thing and sudden changes often occur, this database engine is ideal, however, in scenarios where greater control of the environment is required because strategies are being developed to redefine the business does not turn out to be so convenient because it does not get the most out of it.

We have started using the Oracle Autonomous database as a data store for Log analytics. It does ease the need for maintenance and is self-managing when it comes to performance advisory reports. But I will say it's still under evaluation in comparison to Amazon RDS.
Pros
We are using automated index management for one of our asset repositories.
We have had a big relief from the need for patching this database.
We did see a performance improvement when we moved the DB to Oracle ADB.
Cons
More deep dive insights on the data modelling chosen by the Oracle ADB.
Likelihood to Recommend
Currently I [use] Tier 2 and Tier 3 application.

Oracle Autonomous Database is the primary database at my current project, and it serves as a backend for a UI that caters to more than 25000 users per day. It caters their day to day need to transact and fetch reports. Oracle Autonomous Database does a great work of handling all the requests and catering to all the users without any failure.
Pros
Less resource utilization
Quick performance
Quick issue resolution
Cons
Less manual intervention
Connectivity to more tech stack
Better user control
Likelihood to Recommend
Oracle Autonomous Database works well with backend structure for applications; however, I felt it has a scope to improve a data warehouse. It can perform really well in OLTP environments however with OLAP it struggles a bit.

Currently, I am using Oracle Autonomous Database to migrate [the] UAT environment for an insurance company. So far the migration is progressing well. I faced [a] few network issues during the start of the project. Also, [I'm] expecting [there will be] few issues with [the] backups. After migration, my clients [sometimes] want [the] old backups [which can be a major issue for me].
Pros
Scaling
Patch management
Security
Cons
Data security like masking

Oracle Autonomous Database [is] well suited for transactional-based [input] as well as for data analysis. The database is good for businesses [that] need ad-hoc scaling of their database capacity as per demand. DR setup is quite easy with Oracle's Autonomous Database. [The] data replication can be done in [a] few minutes. Also, the data refresh feature is quite useful [as well].
It is used as a core solution, across different business units, providing excellent reliability and performance.
Pros
Reliability
Performance
Versatility
Cons
Ease of configuration
Licensing
Replication

We use it heavily on the data warehouse side, where it is essential to store large quantitative of different types of data, which later on need to be analytically queried. Also, it supports transactional loads for a high degree of concurrent users, offering reliability and scaling capabilities on different hardware platforms.

Oracle Autonomous Database is used across our organization to scale down databases for different workloads. It automatically updates data in our cloud-based databases with great security systems. We are able to secure and store large volumes of data in a secure platform for future reference. The cost of deployment is affordable and there is a lot of support from the Oracle company.
Pros
Data warehousing
Data processing
Cons
There is no need for improvement in the current version.
Likelihood to Recommend
I can prove that Oracle Autonomous Database is the best platform for all data processes. It can be easily deployed at a reduced cost with lesser maintenance costs. It has reduced a lot of risks incurred in data leakages to unauthorized persons by securing our data is safe and secure features. Data processing is done effectively with a complete database lifecycle.
On many projects, our organization uses Oracle Autonomous Database to reduce running costs by automating database management with machine learning and having almost no administration. It is self contained and aids us in automating patching and updating in order to offer the best possible support to the end users of our framework.
Pros
Self-sufficient
Outstanding results
Extremely secure
Lowers operational and administration costs
Excellent customer service
Very dependable
It's easy to use
Cons
It's always a pain to import data from other database.
No private IP address, no access to the database's operating system
There is a scarcity of preparation materials.
Likelihood to Recommend
It is a good, automated database tool based on the future, and I strongly recommend it to organizations and enterprises that must deal with large and distributed databases. It is independent and can help us automate the execution of patches, services, and backups to ensure that the program is best distributed to end users.

The Oracle Autonomous Database is being used by our organization with several applications to reduce the operational cost by using automation of database management based on machine learning and almost no administration required. It is self-dependent and helps us to automate the patching and maintenance to ensure the best delivery to our application end users.
Pros
Self-dependent.
Autonomy.
Excellent performance.
Very secure.
Highly scalable to always meet the needs.
Reduces cost of operations and management.
Excellent support.
Highly reliable.
Self-managed.
Easy to use.
Cons
Import from other databases is still a hassle.
No private IP.
No access to the operating system of database.
Reporting seeks betterment.
Lack of training stuff.
Likelihood to Recommend
I will be definitely recommending Oracle Autonomous Database to my colleagues and other connections to reduce the operational cost.
DB should provide private IP rather than public IP only.
It should provide one-click to import from other DB rather than using object storage.
Likelihood to Recommend
If you want DB as service, this is the best. It has better pricing with great performance due to its serverless mode, meaning no pay if no use. However if you don't need a large relational database or have a legacy DB application, another non-SQL DB might be a better option.
