Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use monday.com to track project progress from start to finish. This begins with our Sales team and goes all through the onboarding process. It helps keep our teams aligned and organized. We are also able to produce a variety of reports to determine where we are with KPIs for each team.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Capacity planning, task management, project management, and some amount of finance calculations. Some teams also use it for knowledge management, as well. These aren't, or IMO, shouldn't be called "Business problems" they are more like business challenges in the day2day. My use case are mostly capacity, project management, and collaboration. We track tasks, stakeholders, resources and any material needed for the deliverables.

It is important to not overuse monday.com. The problem I see is when operations are dependent on the use monday.com which should be a collaboration tool and not a process tool within the inherent business logic of the company. If used accordingly for collaboration and task tracking, integrating info with emails and other tools, notifying teams and third-parties etc, it is an excellent tool and very nice to look at, which also helps.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use monday.com as our CRM to keep our three separate companies on the same page. It's a simple way for us to manage projects, sales and collaborate with each other. monday.com also makes it easy for our sales team to take notes on leads and contacts and keep each other informed.

Personalizing the platform based on our needs

Cons

Because it's so customizable, it can sometimes be overwhelming to have so many options
We had to hire a third party to help us build out our boards
QuickBooks does not integrate well with monday.com

Likelihood to Recommend

If you are tech savvy and your company is comfortable inputting information, this platform is great. We have found that some of our less tech savvy employees get uncomfortable with maneuvering around the boards and think they're going to mess something up or delete whole boards. Unfortunately, it can be hard to teach too.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use monday.com for our nonprofit diapers, wipes, and period products programs. It helps us to streamline our program registration and reorder system for our new and returning clients. Clients complete a new client registration form or a reorder form, and the information help us keep up with data for our potential grant funders.

Pros

Calculates the amount of new and returning clients.
Allows us to create forms that our clients can use
Helps us keep up with the amount of diapers and period products we distribute.

Cons

I would like to see our company logo show up larger on the form feature.
I prefer the version of the form they have now instead of the new version for 2025. The current form shows the questions in bold font, and the new version does not. This may mean it could take our volunteers longer to get to the pertinent information on the form.
It would be nice if monday.com staff had monthly webinars showing how to use some features. such as, using formulas effectively.

Likelihood to Recommend

The platform is very well suited for our nonprofit programs that serve low-income clients who need diapers, wipes, and period products. It has helped us run our programs, capturing information and allowing us to view the data for reporting purposes. The ability to filter data is very helpful by allowing us to categorize information to get a better picture of the progress of our programs.

I use monday.com for EVERYTHING! Daily tasks, collaborative projects, requests from team members, onboarding new hires, 1:1 peer coaching, event planning... you name it. monday.com allows all of my work to be transparent to all at our organization, and it also saves me and our people leaders hundreds - if not thousands - of hours per year through templates and automations. monday.com is my favorite tool!

Automations to move/fill items without much manual work
Working from templates to keep things moving quickly
Tagging/pinging others to increase transparency and communication
Bright/warm colors and easy navigation to create a pleasing user experience

Cons

Honestly, just price. Our technology team hounds us all the time about the price of monday.com and would prefer us to use something cheaper.

Likelihood to Recommend

Perfect for project management, daily tasks, onboarding new hires, certification programming, cross-functional work, and event planning. Probably not as suitable for technology teams who live in Jira and would prefer to keep things there.

Our People Team is the only team that uses monday.com at our organization. We use this platform to track our quarterly projects on a broad scope as well as make project plans on a smaller scope that dive into more details. Our recruiters also use the platform to track candidates as they move through the pipeline.

Pros

Lots of customization.
Different viewing options to assess timeline and project needs.
Ability to drag and drop is very helpful for moving through phases of a project.

Cons

I don't love the date timeline - it always gets left blank on our teams' work.
I would love to be able to drag something across to a different board.
I would love to be able to link to another page (or project) in monday.com and have the click to the link redirect me there, not open another webpage.

Likelihood to Recommend

I think monday.com is great when everyone is using it. However, if someone doesn't udpate their work it is essentially useless. I wish comments and notes and updates weren't in so many different areas and I wish the calendar view was a bit easier to use. Overall, I think monday.com could work well for some people but they'd really have to be interested in exploring all that it can do. Not ideal for someone looking to jump in and start right away.

Our marketing and graphics department uses monday.com to manage all campaigns, develeopment of printed and posted materials and our weekly newsletter. We had in the past been trying to use a shared folder or countless numbers of emails. monday.com solved all of that allowing us to attach files, notifiy and gather approvals and streamline the whole process.

monday.com appears to be ideal for managing items across multiple users, gathering approvals and tracking where individuals, teams and groups are within projects. monday.com has a TON of integrations including Google, Microsoft, Zoom, Quickbooks and is straight forward and easy to understand.

Training is available always and support is quick to respond with solutions.
