MindManager is the preferred brain-dump software used by lazy executives across the organization.
Pros
It helps me organize thoughts and easily create professional and attractive presentations.
Enables me to run ideas and planning sessions with my team because I can easily record and link their contributions effectively.
Provides me with clear visualisations when I'm drafting new processes.
Cons
I struggle to sync Mindmanager between my work and home computer.
I'm not keen on the constant advertising.
I can't copy and paste into all of the other Apps that I use.
Likelihood to Recommend
Team Meetings, Process Mapping, planning presentations The Kanban Boards enable me to pass the results of development session in a readily comprehensible format to my project and programme Teams I communicate ideas via Teams and Outlook regularly I easily build visualisations into Business Case documents that have to be delivered in Microsoft Word.

Mainly used as a way to organise "brain dumps", discussions, brainstorms, and just good place to collect and organise ideas. They are created during initial project kick offs.
Pros
Collect and link ideas/subjects together
Easy and intuitive startup to create "brain dumps"
Cons
Moving around big diagrams can be difficult
Making the simple diagrams where there is a central element with lots of floating topics around it can look a little messy as the connection lines all overlap and squiggle all over the page
Likelihood to Recommend
Getting ideas down quick and organised is pretty easy and you don't need to trained on MindManager to be able to do this. It's a good, clear way of laying out such information where different aspects can be broken down and linked together. Those discussions that grow arms and legs are easily manageable with this software which can be incredibly difficult to follow during conversations.
For creating docs, safety assessments, project charters etc, swot analyses and organigraphs.
Pros
Makes content visual
Provides different possibilities from texts to calculations
Converts charts to word
Provides possibilities of gantt charts
Cons
Easier connection possibilities for topics
Freer arrangement possibilities for topics and connections
Provide possibility for more attachments links to a topic
Better convert possibilities to PowerPoint
Improve text work (like word)
Likelihood to Recommend
Well suited for risk assessments, swot, small project mngt, etc _ less for projects where you need more flexibility , even organigrams the constrains in MindManager is limiting. Too constraining

Professional (Airlines/Aviation company, 501-1000 employees)
Collecting and organising information about software development tools. Specifically information about command line arguments. There are several gotchas in GUI elements, My value to the organisation is the ability to recall the use of these applications at short notice. I may have to pick these up after not using them for 5 Years or so.
Pros
Colours.
The ability to re-organise thoughts
The ability to add notes and pictures
Cons
The ability to work on alternative operating systems
I cant use Mind Manager 2021 on this machine
It Does not support my odd ball Video Adapter
Likelihood to Recommend
Good at soft systems analysis scenarios. That is putting word documents together for interview questions. User Manuals for software applications and the like. I mainly make use of it for personal use for my day job.
estimate of time to produce and optimization (not Kanban);
business dashboard;
meeting plan and post-meeting report.
Brainstorming
Pros
Discipline in organization
visualization of the enormity of the task
unbounded white board
capability to parse sub-topics into standalone maps
Cons
precise sequencing and timing of events for resource allocation
ability to take email from gmail and post to MindManager in like manner as outlook.
ability to take google contacts, calendar info and post to MM in a like manner as Microsoft products
ability to add task progress groups to specific topics (having more than one task progress group per mm0
Likelihood to Recommend
MindManager (MM) is best suited for unstructured accumulation of information, i.e., pulling articles off the net, pictures, charts, spreadsheets, and docs. Head to head with PowerPoint is tough except for experienced users. (I use it - Walk Through)
MindManager is used within our project group to display system architectures and to capture and link requirements for complex systems. It has been used for planning work packages by linking dependencies between different aspects of the project or technology development and establishing task prioritization by making it clear which tasks and developments were needed for successful implementation.
Pros
Demonstrates interdependence of individual tasks and technologies.
Allows faster and clearer reorganization of linkages than a system like Microsoft Visio.
Cons
Improved integration to turn a collection of interdependent tasks into a Gantt Chart schedule.
Likelihood to Recommend
MindManager has worked well for brainstorming sessions, breaking down a complex process into its interdependent components, and showing that all requirements of a system have been validated. It has been less effective when individuals on the team have tried to drive development processes and schedules solely through mind maps because it is difficult to allocate resource planning and quickly understand schedule health.

A few individuals in our sales and operations groups use the product. It is being used as a brainstorming tool, and a tool to capture the current state of complex clients. It particularly helpful mapping and communicating a strategy that a team of individuals can easily follow across the many departments that support our largest cleints.
Pros
SWOT analysis.
Gap analysis.
Customer retention strategy analysis.
Cons
Make it easier to cut and paste items from one branch to another.
Make it easier to reformat many branches simultaneously.
Easier to send out versions that people can with edit or make up.
Increase the flexibility of the Org Charts.
Likelihood to Recommend
It's the best tool for brainstorming and getting all the conditions that make up a current state of a business relationship into a single view. Its difficult to use for Org Charts and when collaborations are necessary and a license is not available for the recipient.
All projects are mapped and all meetings are planned and conducted using MindManager to develop the agenda and keep the meetings on track. Tracking assignments and maintaining a record of activities is an essential use of MindManager.
Pros
Tracks daily task and achievements.
I use it for objectives and key results.
I use it to prepare myself and others for more productive meetings.
I use it for historical records of what occurred in projects and meetings.
Cons
I used to use a program called MacProject which is no longer supported by Mac. It automatically changed the dates in the progress of project planning when you made adjustments to a scheduled.
Likelihood to Recommend
MindManager is especially well suited for meeting planning and meeting records. I don't see any scenarios where it is not useful.
MindManager is being used by the department. I asked to work with it when I started my position at GJC and we bought licenses for everyone in the team (9).
I use it to brainstorm, organise ideas and have a conversation with the same vision. At the beginning of a project, I use it to group tasks by subject and to make sure everyone agrees. I also used it to manage projects before we switch to another tool.
Pros
The export in HTML allows me to share a nice and navigable version of the mindmap with people who don't have MindManager.
A mindmap is intuitive for everyone, no need to explain when first use.
MindManager is easy to learn because it shares a lot with MS Office in the way to use it.
MindManager has great templates to start with.
Cons
The dependency arrows don't snap at the best place on a topic. I always move them at the end of a topic, for both ends. They are easier to see like this.
The icon style (e.g. emoji) could be nicer.
In the last version, the map theme editor got great improvement with the easy editor, however, there should be a way to get it even easier.
Likelihood to Recommend
MindManager is perfect for project planning. Start with a brainstorm of everything that has to be done. Then group tasks in a meaningful way. Finally prioritize the activities. All this can be done with other people and everyone can easily contribute.
