My team and I use MindManager as a planning tool and a progress tracker. Its ability to attach files or items to certain tasks really sets it apart from similar software. The scope of our use case is not that large, though, as we are a small team of six.
Pros
Track progress.
Create mind Maps.
Simple, yet adjustable planning tool.
Cons
Friendlier User Interface.
Ability to co-edit the document without the paid version.
Likelihood to Recommend
MindManager is best suited for you if you require a planner with complex features while still providing a simple and friendly (although it could be more user-friendly) interface.

I have been using MindManager for years to plan my projects and perform critical thinking. It helps me organize my thoughts and brainstorm ideas. Keeping things organized is important when deciding on the viability of initiatives and new projects. I have been using mind maps for years now, as viewing projects from a visual standpoint has been proven to be more effective than a bulleted list per se.
Pros
Increases productivity.
Simplification of ideas.
Great when using for presentations.
Solves problems.
Enhances learning.
Cons
I would say that the interface could use some simplification.
Printing can be a bit complicated.
Dragging the branches of the map can be challenging.

MindManager is fantastic at laying out ideas and outlining projects. It helps increase productivity, as I can get my thoughts out of my head and onto paper. It's great for project management, org charts, and slide decks. I don't have a comment as to how it is less inappropriate. Overall feedback is positive, as you have to have realistic expectations as to how it can and should be used. It is a very effective tool for a multitude of things.
I use MindManager on my team for brainstorming in team meetings, making project plans, timelines and org charts. One of the most intuitive, user-friendly tools I've ever used.
Pros
MindManager can help you put thought to screen much quicker than you ever thought possible. Others can view these ideas in a way that makes sense to others who aren't in your head.
Mind Manager's ability for complex topic mapping (utilizing icons, tags, embedding files) is extremely robust and useful.
The program gets out of the way of the having formatting take up precious time in brainstorming and gives you visually aesthetic diagrams that will be the envy of your colleagues.
Cons
The integration with Outlook could be improved. This is the least intuitive feature in my opinion but the has the most potential.
The SharePoint integration is not as clear to utilize as I'd hoped.

Well suited for brainstorming, team meetings, strategic planning.
We implemented MindManager to help us in mapping the desired path of our incoming leads and the organizational structure.
Pros
Easy to use/User friendly
Aesthetically pleasing layout looks like it was built in this century.
Easy to share with colleagues
Cons
I haven't noticed anything yet.

MindManager is great for when you are having trouble with understanding how different areas of your work, department, or business interconnect. It does require a bit of input from all areas of the business involved, so I would not recommend using MindManager if you will not be able to dedicate a bit of time in company self-discovery prior to creating anything with MindManager.
[MindManager is being used for] Planning, management and monitoring of projects, research ideas, manuscripts, developing strategies and describing workflows.
Pros
Transferring ideas and workflows from mind to a visible form
Adding timelines and resource assignment for tasks and projects
Converting mindmaps to Gantt charts, Excel sheets, reports etc
Develop detailed budgets with sophisticated, smart breakups
Cons
Better visualization and sharing options for Gantt Charts
Better mechanism to populate topics with new Topic Properties (e.g. a new line item that needs to be populated to entire mindmap or entire child chain)
More convenient options to move Start-End dates
Simpler integration with Google or Outlook Calendar
Should have a better presentation mode unlike the one right now that makes it extremely slow and sticky when using big files with photos, videos etc
Likelihood to Recommend
Very useful tool to develop a new project from the scratch; taking notes during a meeting; plan event management; planning and monitoring etc.
We use MindManager extensively to develop annual plans, concepts, ideas and monitor progress across the year. The recent tools such as Gantt chart and time-tracking are very useful even though one would wish it to add more functionality in visualization and navigation.
Pros
Our minds work best when you think visually. MindManager helps create a visual network of ideas, processes and concepts.
I find the ability to use branching, subordination and networking options in the Mindmaps. These simulate neural networks that make it easy to understand and follow through complicated issues during planning.
Keeping a track of annual goals, objectives and activities while assigning resources is one of the most productive aspects of MindManager that helps keep a track of progress during the year.
Cons
Need better functionality when using Gantt charts.
Adding and managing resources is a little cumbersome.
Sharing and collaborating on maps is still a bit complicated and I have not been able to achieve it with single-system licenses. In the times of cloud computing, this level of collaboration should be made available to everybody irrespective of a specific type of license.

I find it most suitable for planning, conceptualizing and tracking projects, be it scientific articles, reports, activities or wildlife research. I find it most suitable for situations where we need to develop ideas as visual representation and easy capability of moving around boxes makes it productive and efficient. The only place where we have not found Mindmaps useful in its current form is when trying to build things collaboratively as most of our team members are spread in different parts of the world and the collaborative tools probably need further refinement and functionalities.
