Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Power BI is a great tool for Visualization and reporting.
We basically use this tool as a means of analyzing the maintenance data base in SAP.
Because of this tool we can easily be able to find out the insights and bottle necks in the SAP Data.
With Certain filters and query this dashboard can be easily shared to the higher management and can be able to find out where to improve by quickly analyzing the data.

Dashboard should be easily sharable
Online Editing should be possible without downloading the app.

Likelihood to Recommend

For finding insights of huge data sets, where automatic cleaning and processing of data is required before creating charts and dashboards, there the software is well suited.
Where data keeps uploading on a regular basis and it needs to be shared with a team and all the team members are involved in updating the datasets and charts, so it becomes difficult to manage.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The platform is easy to use and has a quick learning curve. Easy to create reports and bring in different data sources. It gives you the ability to export to cloud quickly and easily.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Power BI is being used to create dashboards and company data reports. Currently, it is used in the financial and IT areas. We are working on planning to have a vision of what is to come, planning everything about the company through the visual representation of these sensitive data. And with it, the tool can generate great visualizations that we can take to meetings.

Pros

Similar to office 365 applications such as Excel and Access, that is, it facilitates the usability of those who already have advanced knowledge of these tools.
Optimal ways of presenting data.
Data collect.
Control panel.

Cons

Sometimes the table relationship is not no simple to set up.
Certain elements are very limited, in the visual part mainly.
The tool is unnecessary in relation to the panel interface compared to Tableau.

Likelihood to Recommend

The recommendation for a company would be that with this free/low-cost tool for desktop it can help a lot in making decisions and thereby get a result that you can visualize if your company is on the right path. The user will also get some more creativity about the creation of the panels.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Currently, Microsoft Power BI is being used by some departments on our organization. Basically, the financial department, and the IT department. Microsoft Power BI is very useful to build numerous dashboards in order to support post-data gathering for all core processes. Furthermore, Microsoft Power BI can build many possible charts. We can use them to show information or even full interactive presentations, that in Microsoft Excel we could not do. Microsoft Power BI has integration with the other Microsoft business tools, and this is really helpful.

Pros

The cost of it, really affordable.
Power BI has a great integration with other tools like Office 365, Azure, etc.
Navigation is very similar to Microsoft Excel, so if you are already acquainted with Excel, you'll have no problems with BI.
Great variety of chart types, I think it is around sixteen different ones.

Cons

If you are not a Microsoft Excel power user, it can be a little challenging to use.
Slow performance if you have a huge amount of data to analyze.
Has a very bulky user interface.

Likelihood to Recommend

Just like Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power BI has many types of graphs and charts, but when it comes to creating a tableau of information, the data can be transformed into maps and gauges. There is even a KPI visualization and one called R visualization. Of course, the scenario in which the user has advanced experience in Microsoft Excel is the best scenario—Power BI makes data analysis extremely easy for them. And more, you can see the raw data behind the visualization opening Excel.

1. It is used for Executive reviews for visualization and dashboards to provide insight in the business operations, marketing, finance. My organisation is using this because it comes free with Microsoft Office license. It provides similar services as other tools in the same field.
2. It is being used in my departmen,t but other functions are starting to explore this BI tool.
3. Visualization, dashboards, scorecards, easy to understand huge datasets through graphs and charts, flexible for users to connect withEexcel

Pros

Free license and tool is available in Microsoft office as an alternative to expensive tools in the same field
Flexible to connect with multiple data sources and ERP systems
Training modules are available for users with good detailed explanation
Can publish review online for yourself and team-members and executives
Multiple layout for visualization

Cons

Editing data is bit difficult -- it requires dataset to be formatted in a particular manner, otherwise it will give errors and the user will end up most of the time in fixing the issue himself.
Everytime data is required to be refreshed, which leads to the issue of regenerating the visualization

Scenarios where it is well suited- User with Excel experience and needs to analyze the data via visualization without spending huge money on license subscription of other software

Scenario where it is less suited - User who does not know how to handle big data and cleaning data requirements of BI.
