Malwarebytes - Still Relevant, Kicking A** and Taking Names!
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
In addition to Malwarebytes, we currently utilize a subscription hardware firewall that scans packets, provides for Intrusion Prevention Service, AV, Application Control, Web Blocker, Spam Blocker, Reputation Enabled Defense, and Botnet Detection.
So, we have a lot of protection. And believe me, Malwarebytes still can find stop that makes it through the gamut and reaches our workstations. And when that happens, Malwarebytes actively intercepts the threats. It is not often, but it happens enough that the small price to pay per machine is well worth the benefit.
All of our workstations are Windows 11 Professional. Some have mechanical hard drives, other SSD, and still others NVME M.2. Every workstation that has Malwarebytes installed is still really fast, that is to say, our machines do not appear to lag at all while running Malwarebytes..
Pros
- Detects outbound traffic to known malicious sites.
- Very LOW resources required to run.
- Extremely low false positives.
Cons
- Could use a more intuitive menu system.
- I would like the expiration to be on the splash page.
