I personally use Mailtrack to track all my cold mails and/or my important conversations with my clients and colleagues. It's really useful to known in a blink if the mail is received, read, or whatever. The workflow isn't anymore stressful while waiting for an answer or an important information from a technical support.

Knows which state you are in
Get information about the quality of your mails
Clean up your workflow and your mind
Cons
Didn't see any API
Add more specific tracking objects like links, etc.

I think it's appropriate when you need (or just want) to know if (and when) your mails are read, but if you don't really care or if it's just a comfort feature, it could be a bit expensive.
We sell domain names to corporate companies or individuals. As of now, we are only two members. My partner and I send emails to our clients.
Pros
Immediately you will be notified once any user accesses the email. There is no delay. We have crossed checked and it works awesome.
The Mailtrack extension is easy to use. Setting up an account and getting started is smooth and fast.
Free version includes unlimited email tracking, this is fab.
Cons
I think a few more features should be added to the free version, like daily tracking reports, which is only available with the pro version.
It would be great if it could support custom email accounts apart from Google.

One of my friends who is a Domainer introduced me to this great mail tracking extension.
I used to send multiple emails and never used to get to know who is actually reading my emails. Now, I have an overview of my emails. If I send emails to 50 people I if 30 users have read my email once, which is an awesome feature. If any user opens the email multiple times I will be notified so I will consider only those users for follow-ups. Mailtrack is an amazing mail tracking extension.
I've been using Mailtrack for just over a month.
I want simplicity in knowing when and if my emails were read.
I highly recommend using Mailtrack.

I want simplicity in knowing when and if my emails were read. MailTrack quickly lets me know when my email was read and alerts me if the email was opened numerous times giving me insightful engagement data.
I'm the first who uses Mailtrack with my Gmail to see how or if my mail will be read or not. This is important for me as a manager - to stay informed. I think, if my experience with Mailtrack is successful in the long-term, we can maybe start to use it across the whole digital department.
Pros
Easy installation and integration with Gmail.
Easy understanding, how it works.
Simple view in the mail window in the browser - so you can understand the situation quick.
Cons
Integration with mobile and tablet. I actually want to use one product for all my devices.

If you need to correspond with some important partners, including business partners, editorial sources, etc., and especially when you need to have proof of receiving and opening of your mail - this is the most simple way to get it fast. This is one major function of Mailtrack, and this is what the plugin is doing very well!
I utilize Mailtrack to track how many emails have been opened and when they have been opened. We also track how long it takes to receive a response to our emails once they have been opened, or if a response is ever received after they are opened. We also track the unopened emails as well.
Pros
Email Accountability
Email Response Time
Number of Emails Opened
Cons
I really don't have any cons. I have been very pleased with Mailtrack.

This is a great program for tracking emails, particularly in marketing departments. It works quite well. It provides reminders of emails that have not been opened. It provides you with daily tracking reports. You have an activity dashboard, link tracking, and it even tracks emails that have attachments. I find this an excellent program for judging email effectiveness.
Mailtrack is a wonderful software to use. I have been sending emails to my prospects and clients through Gmail. There is no email tracking mechanism provided by Gmail. Mailtrack solves this grave issue and helps us to know who has opened our emails and how many times. It is a wonderful piece of software which easily syncs with Gmail. The software also gives a daily report as to how many emails were read, etc. Mailtrack helps us to focus on those clients who are interested in our emails. It helps us to sell our e-publication subscription. Thanks to the entire team who has made this wonderful software.
Pros
Mailtrack tells you who has opened your emails and how many times. This helps us to focus on interested prospects.
Mailtrack has a feature called as Campaign wherein one can mailmerge more than one email address and send the standard sales mail in one go. It really helps.
Mailtrack helps to get a daily report about the emails sent and read.
Mailtrack helps us to identify hot leads by telling us which are the guys who opened our emails multiple times.
Cons
Mailtrack should give a separate dashboard to check datewise statistics separately. Mails notifying unopened emails becomes a clutter.
Mailtrack should also allow to merge the individual names in Campaign option.

It is best suited for sales teams who need to know in real time about the status of the emails sent. It is less appropriate for sending personal emails. Mailtrack is well suited for internal teams also. It can help the team member to know whether or not their previous email was read. Many a time, people often feign ignorance with respect to having received the email in order to skip responsibility. If Mailtrack is used no one can give an excuse about not reading an email.
I use Mailtrack on a daily basis to track my emails with current clients, leads, and other professionals in my industry. Since I'm a freelancer, It's only being used by me, but it really is helpful. Getting notifications when an important email has been read is extremely helpful in knowing when to follow up in case of no response from them.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to test out the paid version of the product yet, but I'm highly considering it with how great just the free version is. My only issue with the product is that every email has a watermark on it when you send it, HOWEVER, you can delete it extremely easily, and the company even shows you how to do it! I have seen no other email tracking software out there that 1) allows you to delete the watermark, but also 2) shows you exactly how to do it! They're an extremely user-friendly service and I would highly recommend them.
Pros
Tracks emails
Allows you to remove watermarks
Desktop notifications
Cons
None I can think of

It's honestly well-suited for any email tracking needs you may have. I can't think of a single situation in which I wouldn't want a read receipt when the other party has opened the email, and Mailtrack provides that ability. It's extremely beneficial when you need to know if a client or lead has read your email. Yes, they offered me a 3 month free trial of the paid version to write this review, but that DOES NOT affect my statements.
MailTrack was used individually by me mostly to track email opens. It was used sparingly by limited members of no particular team when we didn't have a proper product in place to track email opens.
Pros
Very accurate email open triggers.
I also like the green tick and how it mentions how many times individual emails in a thread have been opened and which haven't been. You can resend the email that probably hasn't been read or hasn't been read by enough people.
Cons
MailTrack in its existing form and use cases does what it is supposed to, but most products help track email opens, which is why you can use any alternatives with a lot of other features, e.g. Mixmax, thus they need to improve and add a lot of features.
Likelihood to Recommend
When you need a free email tracking tool, I find MailTrack the best. When you want to pay for one, you might want to look at products that provide more features, and which one makes the most sense will also depend on which other CRMs you use. I have yet to see the paid version which might have as many features as others but we never evaluated the full product features.
