A very simple way to manage your Kanban workflow

  • [I feel] the UI for creating new tasks is pretty clunky and unintuitive
  • Drag and drop features don't work as smoothly as you would expect [in my experience]

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use it to help me manage my time and be focus on my task I need to complete a day. I suggest you use it for focus work and enable labels with color coding to prioritize the various task you would want to tackle daily.

  • Having templates for repeated task so that I can quickly create task without filling it up manually
  • Fine tuning of WIP for column to be by Pomodoro sessions instead of just time and story points.

Pros

  • KanbanFlow is easy to set up for use. I'm not super tech savvy and I'm able to navigate the portal.
  • It's clear and clean. In other words, it doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles so it feels tidy when you use it which is exactly what you want since it's a tool for organizing.
  • Collaborative. It is a very collaborative tool. It is stored on the website/cloud and it is similar to something like google docs where anybody can go in there and make edits and move things around.

Cons

  • I'm not sure if it has this or not because I've only been using it for about 6 months but we haven't quite figured out how to archive things. We have lots of data on that main page from Q3 and Q4 of last year but we need to figure out how to get it away from our main page so we can focus on new things this quarter
  • I know when I was first added there were a few things the admin had to do in order to do that. All I remember is that it wasn't simple for them to get me hooked up. They had to do a few steps and then I was granted access. I don't know what exactly but I had to wait.

Return on Investment

  • Although we've only been using it for a few months I can already see the difference that it makes for our leadership team. We are more productive in every meeting. no spreadsheets or anything like that.
  • because we have all of these important aspects of our quarter in one place, we aren't using multiple software or methodologies for storing the information that we have review all over the place

  • Being able to customize reports would be great.

Return on Investment

  • KanbanFlow has cut back on emails regarding different aspects of projects with clients. Now we can each just move tasks around and see on the board what the status and notes are on any task saving valuable time and email box overload.
  • KanbanFlow (with Zapier integrations) has allowed us to automate the scheduling of certain tasks and meetings, saving valuable time.
