Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Joomla! as a user management and API plugin for our Virtual classroom. It is also used as the administrator login and integrates well with third-party tools, making them easy to integrate. The implementation process is simple and easy. It supports users all over the world. Easy to check our client details and share the emails in bulk. Admin can create separate groups and manage them.

Membership-based, which helps to set the access level. Multi-factor authentication is protective for onboard users. It has API integration and provides role-based permissions for the users. An extension that made it easier for us. It supports marketing and customer management that helps to share emails in bulk and share private messages to particular users or those who are in groups.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We utilize Joomla! for ease of creating and managing our website internally. We appreciated that Joomla! enabled us to keep our content current and be able to publish what we needed without requiring technical skills. The main issues that Joomla! Helped minimize were the simplicity of updates on the website, the time spent on updates, and the need for technical support. Our use case of Joomla! consists of posting our news, managing our events, and sharing information with our audience. Joomla! covers much of our website management needs and helps us keep organized and connected to our users.

Difficult for beginners to learn.
Complex to use some features.
Limited options for easy design customization.

Likelihood to Recommend

In my experience, it works well for large websites with numerous pages, such as community sites or online directories. It’s less suitable for small websites or simple pages that don’t need many features. It’s also not ideal for rapid, lightweight sites.

Joomla! is the best content management system (CMS), which helps to manage all our platforms' backends in one place. We also have a virtual classroom API key, where we can schedule a class in Joomla! using plugins

Joomla! is quite down in their UI/UX, however we can modify by our own style
they can improve and implement more features

As Joomla! is an open-source platform, in our organization, we handle all our backends in Joomla!, including API handling. It serves as a hub where we can connect all our systems in one place.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Joomla is the content management system used for my companies main site and training site. It will also be the CMS for an online summit that is in the process of being built. All departments use it and it addresses the need for a CMS that is effective, useful and overall easy to use.

Pros

Joomla has great core functionalities and is free to use.
Joomla has a built-in user management system which allows you to control who accesses certain aspects of your site.
Joomla is search engine optimized out of the box.
Joomla is continuously updating itself and I am amazed at what has been accomplished for the better since I started using it.
Joomla allows me as a simple website designer and developer to build complex sites without much of a need to hire developers.

Cons

The out of the box blogging situation with Joomla definitely needs improving. It is pretty basic, however, there are extensions both free and paid that handle this gap. Joomla 4 is fast on the horizon so I hope this feature is addressed there.
Joomla's media management system has improved, however, it could use more updating. It would be nice to be able to make simple edits for images.
Joomla needs more modules to choose from for certain things users may be trying to create.

Likelihood to Recommend

Joomla is a great open-source CMS for someone who wants to implement a more complex site. For instance, if you want a site that needs an e-commerce solution or a community website.

I would not recommend Joomla if all you need is a simple website to just blog and give basic information about your business. I would more than likely recommend WordPress for that.

I use Joomla to build and edit a website for a higher education association. The main goal of the site is to promote the organization as well provide information about their annual conference.

Joomla! is a great open source software that can handle most website needs. Some of the extensions can be difficult to use.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use this to manage the pages for the English Department at a big university, so we have total access but each program or individual represented can, if they wish, have control over their own page.

Pros

I love the ability to assign users different levels/areas of access so that they can keep pages updated themselves and I'm not constantly updating something when someone emails me. This is an especially nice feature the bigger the pool of people who need to edit the page gets.

Cons

Joomla's interface looks a little old-fashioned and can be a bit finicky, which is intimidating to less experienced users.

Likelihood to Recommend

Joomla! is great for giving lots of different users access to individual pages. If you want to manage a website but not have to receive countless emails requesting updates, you can give users the opportunity to make changes and updates themselves (and manage their access so that they can only edit what they're assigned). For an individual or a smaller company though, this may not be the best or simplest solution (something like Squarespace may better serve your needs).

Working with many industries, I have come to realize that the website is essential. The growth of online marketing and website performance play a major part. Many clients needs different features to start and implement new features to their website in the future. Depending on the overall specifications we mostly suggest the Joomla platform to clients so that they can manage their users as well as their content. Joomla gives extra benefit to the users in the form of management of their e-commerce sites as well as their blog sites.

Being a senior developer for my company, I realize most of the required features can generally be achieved using Joomla, so we mainly try to customize our own templates as well as create extensions (modules and plugins) as we go.

Pros

Joomla is capable of handling medium to large online stores
Joomla is capable of handling large content as well as blogging websites
Joomla overall is easily accessible and client friendly
