Informatica MDM is a program with which we can count on and support each other for the best management of our data and better business management, this program is an advantage since it is its imposition for all the skills and resources to carry out all the management operations of my company, it is a pleasure to have you as an assistant.

Pros

This program raises us to a professional level where we have better versatility to control all the media of my work and have a correct response for each scenario.
It is essential to be right about the destination and development of my data, Informatica MDM is here to simplify all these processes for its users.

Cons

We are a bit disappointed with the need and dependency of this program on a good internet source, otherwise it is not possible to fully execute its functions.
The amount of space that this program requests is incredible, and it expands every time with a new update of your system, this affects other applications and programs that you have installed.

Informatica MDM is a program that promises to greatly help each of its users with the management of their data and other types of scenarios in the administrative and IT area. It is incredible how important Informatica MDM has become in my workplace; it has given an incredible boost to my performance and the handling of all my data; I really like this program because of the very professional infrastructure that it has added to my job to express and manage all the sources that come into my department.

Pros

The control and excellent handling of all my data are a highlights of this program. Informatica MDM is a program that gives me the management that I deserve in my work.
This software has enough technology to create and modulate the data at my convenience, and each of the functions of this program contribution to the management of these processes.

Cons

It is unfortunate how this program has a couple of limitations in terms of insertions; it does not have the ability to agglomerate and archive the data in real-time by groups.
To have automation functions, the program is very limited in performing one task at a time, compared to other systems that perform functions simultaneously.

We are using Informatica MDM for different types of use cases in our organization. We are using it for filtering out the duplicate and redundant data that. We are regularly dealing with heap of data generated from various sources like sales, technical, marketing and other department and a lot of data get s duplicated because the departments are unaware of changes by others. Apart from this we use it for different use cases like populating data to various third party sources, report generation, pulling and pushing of data. It is best tool we are using and it is providing incredible result and driving our revenue growth. Management is very much satisfied with the performance of this tool. Our work has now become easy because filtering of data is a big task and now with this tool we are achieving it in very less time.

Automation of task which is great feature as it take more time when done with manual effort

Cons

There is criteria for defining cluster of informatica MDM
Proper documentation and syntax not available on website because we need them for various integration
Deployment is complex and needs time according to configuration
Licensing cost is too much expensive

MDM is very helpful in places we are dealing with a large amount of data and we need to filter out redundant and duplicate values. It is very helpful when we need to populate data on third party solutions. We can filter out, pull, push the data according to our need on various integration. This solution is best and helps in driving the revenue growth. The automation provided in doing task is very helpful and saves lot of time

For master data management, Informatica has the ideal solution. It is incredibly user-friendly and simple to implement. Because it has increased the dependability of our data, it has enhanced our organization. These days, data is your most valuable asset, so you need to use these tools to make sure that it is trustworthy and clean.

Pros

The ability to have a single view of the data and a 360-degree perspective of the relationships is the nicest aspect.
It's an excellent tool for tracing system ancestry.
Informatica MDM fits in well with their other solution stack

Cons

The work must be saved at regular intervals; if occasionally this is missed, there may be a chance that your data will be lost.
Some support subjects need to get better.

Likelihood to Recommend

Without Informatica, the complex mapping would not have been possible because I would have had to write a lot of code, which is much easier to do in the software's user interface, which ultimately increases productivity.

We were hoping to use this as our data management solution. We wanted something modern and robust however in my opinion this is not what we found when using this product.

Pros

Some UI is easily used
Configuration Migration
Works well if other informatica products

Cons

Some of the UI seems outdated
Overall feels rather basic
Clunky system

If you just need something basic, this could do well for you however once you start finding that you have more needs, the issues start to show. In my opinion the UI needs help and that alone is a problem for me as it makes the whole system feel and behave poorly.

It exposes API in both SOAP and REST which makes the job on our end so much easier. By being able to maintain the database in an appropriate structure, we're also able to compare month over month and year over year. Informatica solves a number of problems that others can't with their MDM took, including using the best ETL tool on the market and integrating the results into their EDC data catalog for end-to-end MDM.

We have used Informatica MDM since the beginning of our project, and I can tell you from my experience it is one of the best MDM tools out there in the market. Not only does it store your master data which comes from different sources, but also it performs data cleansing also on inconsistent data. And one of the most highlighted features is its core component, that’s the hub console, not only useful for developers but for data stewards also with an easy-to-use UI and feature-leveraged functionality. This software is packed with lots of features, so let me highlight a few of them here: 1) Data insertion feature, you can either load data in batches or in real-time. 2) We can not only task manual but also we can automate the many tasks from the batch group. 3) SIF API is the most useful feature when it comes to connecting with middleware software or external applications.

In an era, to manage the load of data collected from clients and other sources. Managing this data manually has been tedious and time-consuming. My team uses Informatica to save on cost & time for the management of data collected in our cloud. We use it to merge and track reference IDs collected from files and tags. Similarly, we use it as a relationship roadmap within the team.

Pros

Manage and track reference data of files (i.e. tags, title, comments, date of creation, file size, & more).
Talmbout drawing lineage between system; informatica does it neat!
It enables easy access to checking and editing mappings
It has a great tone of complementing other stacks well.
Stores excellently: Master data from different sources
Has Hub console useful for both developers & data stewards.

Cons

Complex installation process
Scanty manual on modification
Not suitable for automated single-task management for end users
Initialization is time consuming
Improved visualization

Likelihood to Recommend

From use, Informatica MDM is the appropriate software for mid-to-large-sized companies. They will find the software efficient & effective when: they need to expose API in both SOAP & REST, to facilitate easy operation of users on the application. Similarly, it features the ability to master data, implement rules, and make changes to the system to suit the end user. It follows that, In a meta era like now, Informatica is a solid metadata management tool. Very good software is not compatible with all company sizes, and so is the case of Informatica. It is not suitable for small-size companies that do not log large data, as they'd not maximize the potential of the software.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The client I was working was living and breathing in Salesforce. Thus came Informatica Cloud MDM to secure the consolidation of accounts within Salesforce and other external source systems. The primary purpose was to have a defined linkage between source systems i.e. native Salesforce and other external source systems to produce a single version of record with trusted and standardized quality of data. This can help the organization define their metrics and thereby their goals in reaching a sales target.

Pros

If you live and breath in Salesforce it's one of the best packages which can be used. The maintenance of a multiple source system hierarchy is one the coolest features.
Real time syncing from Native Salesforce to MDM stage area is achievable and is one of the most vital features.
The data can be standardized and cleaned. It helps creating the linage between data and can be represented easily.

Cons

Certainly one place which it lacks is multiple match rules for one entity. We can live on one match rule for an entity.
Too many configurations
If possible unmerging records functionality at least for native Salesforce

Likelihood to Recommend

As I have mentioned if an organization lives and breaths in the Salesforce.com platform this is one of the best packages to have for creating golden records. If the organizations are less dependent on Salesforce, I don't see much use of Informatica cloud MDM.
