We use it to connect it with our product for integration with cloud and it helps to enables all of your data users to collaborate from a single, unified interface that supports many services that are designed to work together. we give the end user recommendation is they want to store the data in cloud.

  • it enables us to collect, organize and analyze data
  • it provides unprecedented simplicity and agility, within a preconfigured and governed environment.

Cons

  • Cannot save changes to some secrets in the internal vault
  • Sign-in issues on environments where IAM is enabled
  • The Enforce quotas option is disabled

This tool also enables us to approach analytics our way, with code, low-code and no code options that allows us to collaborate on one platform. Easy to transform structured and unstructured data into analytics insights. Build and test models with best-in-class AI and analytics. The support team is generally the most proactive and supportive 24/7.

  • Price is something that affects most the small business enterprises. There should affordable pricing plans for the small organization.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Use case was to store utility data to build a smart utility solution for prediction of future trend. All data was stored and AI /ML algorithm was run on top of it and analytics dashboard also built on the same. It manage to store high volume of both structured and unstructured data and churn desired result in optimum time.

If you need connect multiple data source , ingest data and run AI /ML algorithm, IBM Cloud Pak for Data is very good solution , specially industry like Retail, Utility etc which are data intensive and need to handle both structured and unstructured data . Cloud storage option also significantly reduce TCO and need for data duplication. Usecase should consider what are the data source and how many out of the box integration solution is available , need data lineage like functionality.

My primary use case with IBM cloud Pak for data is to organize all our data in a central repository which makes it very easy to analyze them later. One of the best things with IBM cloud Pak is that it connects various siloed data across cloud landscapes and makes it very easy for us to work on those data. Additionally, the overall computational errors have been reduced, and containerization has become very crucial.

  • The AI services catalog like the Watson Assistant is very good.
  • The analytics dashboard featuring all the recent history is very good with IBM.
  • Searching for data through the unified search option is super cool.

Cons

  • More documents are needed on containerization.
  • The integrations through containerizations can be improved.
  • The cost of the product is on the higher side.

IBM Cloud Pak for data is one of the best ways through which a business can infuse Artificial Intelligence across their organization. One of the things that IBM cloud does well is the data privacy and security that it offers. Since most of our data is sensitive, IBM's privacy framework helps us secure it. Additionally, scaling data-related processes and queries is super easy with its end-to-end AI lifecycle.

We have deployed IBM Cloud Pak for Data in my organization to manage and govern data across diffuse data clouds and stores. In our department, we use it to process router data without transferring it to a central store house. We use it to integrate data across our multi-cloud environments. It helps us integrate AI in network environments specifically for network switches enabling end to end AI workflows for easy model deployments.

  • Integrates AI help reduce the complexity in data consolidation
  • Manages data well across multiple environments
  • Reduces ETL requests by great margins

Cons

  • It is complex; The platform comes with several features from MLOPs to Customer 360 which may take a long time for the user to understand.

IBM Cloud Pak for Data has played a huge role in automating our end to end AI lifecycles in the network dimension. It gives us an extensive view of data across diverse data sources for the routers and switches at any moment without needing to migrate to a central repository. The platform has at large made our data management across multiple clouds much easier.
