IBM Cloud File Storage has been useful for activity tracking and in the budget management in our company.Its very important tools for file sharing and services are available in hourly or monthly increments.The platform is nice for their existing application and infrastructure is significant part of the task using this product.

We use IBM Cloud File Storage integrated with Watson Assistant, which is how we managed to make documents available to users of cognitive chats. In addition, we have a tool, Chat Tools, where documents are generated so that the curator can analyze user interactions in conversations with the Bot, and when stored in IBM Cloud File Storage, it is possible to have quick access, in addition to being able to match with your peers for continuous improvement of integrations with Watson Assistant.

Availability. During the period of use, we had no case of unavailability, and this is important.

Easy integration via API

Cons

Endpoint that returns the file in base64, today it is necessary to do it in the backend of an application

Return on Investment

Having a reliable environment to deliver to bot users is of great impact for the company.
Possibility of storing several reports and being able to share them among curation peers for improvement with Watson Assistant

IBM Cloud [File] Storage is a great way for businesses to manage their object storage requirements. When working with clients, I have found it to be both flexible and powerful and helps my clients with their asset storage needs. For example, it is excellent for storing large content that might need to be streamed by end-users, especially that which needs to be stored across multiple geographies. The customizable metadata really helps with analytics.

Pros

Archival of large files which would otherwise need on-premise storage solutions.
Multi-geography storage (important in terms of data protection laws) means that data can be stored in the appropriate jurisdiction.
Infinitely scalable, so no concerns about capacity or building the next generation of storage solutions.

Cons

I have personally struggled with the NFS integration.
Still an early generation of product compared to competitors.
Ease of use could be improved upon.

Return on Investment

We recommend this to our clients to assist with their cloud storage needs, but I can't comment on their individual cases.

IBM Cloud File Storage capacity available for our multiple marketing data and other sales content is enough, and the data access from any place through Cloud services is quite simple. Planning of storage disk and the security offered for all data managed and transferred through IBM Cloud File Storage is effective and very easy to connect to other third-party tools.
