IncentivizedUse Cases and Deployment Scope
The last years of work have been dedicated to the design of electronic equipment related to the IoT, I have analyzed and experimented with different platforms, Google Cloud IoT being one of the ones that have best impressed me. Although later I have chosen to design a personalized platform that uses parts from different providers including Google, to date I consider that I will use it again in new projects.
Pros
- Integration with different brands of microcontrollers including the one currently used by Espresiff.
- The platform is very robust and secure.
Cons
- It would be convenient to be able to calculate operating costs simply and in advance.
- At the moment the interface offers too many options that could be a problem for an inexperienced user.
Likelihood to Recommend
If your IoT project is in the prototype or experimental phase, there are options that are simpler to implement than Google Cloud IoT, perhaps using your own servers and not hosted on Google's cloud. However, if you are developing a solution that has the projection of becoming a product without a doubt, you should use a cloud platform like Google Cloud IoT for many reasons such as scalability, security and service availability among others.
