It is a easy and quick way to chat and send instant message using the Google account, even send files, emojis, create groups. I have used it to communicate even with external people with a personal gmail account and is great to stay in touch with all around. I recommend it for anyone who wants to stay communicated using a google account.

We attend meetings using the integration add call, and also have channels for every team, it's easy to load in comparison with other chats. Also we can use it directly with Gmail without any application if we want it. I have the app in my phone as well and works perfectly. The comprehensive solution includes being able to direct message, group message, direct message within a group, and programmatic messaging via an API. Google Chat is well-suited for businesses. Where it fits in my organization is to maintain communication between teams. Collaboration between teams to solve issues our customers cannot resolve without using Google Chat. Our Organization depends on it. When someone needs assistance from another team in the organization, we use Google Chat to solve this issue.
Google Chat is one of the best tools we use in the organization as it is very simple to use. You just need an internet connection, no downloads are required and it does not have restrictions on the operating system you are using. The only issue with Google Chat is that the chat can jump from time time to time therefore it would be good if they can fix it.
Pros
You do not need an account with Google Chat you only need an account with Google.
Technical support is excellent.
There are many videos that explains how to use it.
There is no limitation to the number of people to join the chat.
You can have private rooms for chatting.
You can visualize your chat with a video link.
Cons
Issues sometimes when loading chats. Needs to be fixed.
If Google is down then everything is down.

Google Hangouts is being used as our primary communication platform for meetings, meetups, talks, webinars, seminars, etc. The user interface feels clean, well-designed, and intuitive. It supports multi-platform integration and wraps well around Google's fleet of productive tools. The audio/video quality is superb. There is also a chat feature that is useful for quick communication. The only problem we face is it supports a limited number of attendees. Also, we are concerned about how our data may be used there. It would be great if Google offered a self-hosting option. Overall, it is a fine tool to work with and it's free.
Pros
Audio Calls
Video Calls
Instant Messaging
Cons
On-premises hosting
Limited attendees
Concern over user data collection

Google Hangout is well suited for fast-moving small teams. Its instant messaging and calling features are free. Therefore, it is an affordable solution for small startups/companies/daily regular users, etc. However, a large team with a lot of focus will find it difficult to properly utilize. Only a single channel for all the teams makes it hard to manage and use. Also, enterprises will have some issues sharing their data over Hangouts.
Google hangout is used across the whole organization, it is very easy to install and use. I personally like the hangout, during this pandemic situation hangout has helped a lot in connecting your peers, and sharing things. Groups can be formed very easily which is not available in other applications. I would say if It's one of the best features of Google
Pros

Quality of the Video can be improved

Google Hangout has helped us during these difficulties a lot, important is to have a connection without any trouble and this application has helped a lot, especially when you have to connect with your peers globally. You are just one click away from your peer to connect with them where ever they are.
Google Hangouts Chat is our means of communication with our team. We have a group chat and we also have a personal message inbox. We are using our business email address. We also use the video call of Google Hangouts Chat if we need to. Google Hangouts Chat is very useful and so convenient because we can also use it not only on our computer but also on our mobile phones.
Pros
You can view separately the files sent in the chats
Nature friendly theme
All in one use
Cons
I hope we can customize themes and fonts

I'd give 9. Let's start with the upside of Google Hangouts Chat. It is a very friendly tool, helps a lot in so many ways. Communication whether for business or personal use its fine. I find that it's really good unlike other communication tools [because] some of them are for business use only. I recommend this for whatever way they use this. The downside is less customization. Like the themes and fonts. I'd really love that option.
We use Hangouts' chat as an enterprise instant messaging platform in the same way other businesses might use Discord or Slack. We have been in the Google ecosystem for years now since the days of Google Talk and we've moved along with its instant messaging products and now we're on chat.
Pros
Free to use
Tight Google integration
Minimal setup required
Cons
Instant video call function has been removed.
User interface is a bit cluttered.

If your organization is invested in G-suite then the tight integration with G-suite makes it a no-brainer. For organizations invested in other software platforms, however, then the IM product that comes with that platform would probably be a better suit.
