Categories & Use Cases

Great for Scheduling and Tracking Everything

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Each employee can track their work events and tasks separately while also being able to share events to the entire organization.

Pros

  • Multiple calendars make it easy to track things and remain organized
  • Being able to alter the view between, day up to year is very helpful
  • Is easy to schedule appointments and meetings with other team members and clients

Cons

  • It would be nice to limit my view to my working hours - either in the day view or week view

Return on Investment

  • Saves time on scheduling

Usability

I use it every day!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Google Calendar every day. It helps me keep my schedule clean, and keeps me on task. I am constantly using it to create meetings both internal and external, and can easily attach meeting links for virtual meetings. It's literally the first thing I look at when I get to work, and the last thing I look at when I leave.

Pros

  • Makes it easy to schedule meetings and block off time
  • I can see everyone in my org's calendar's as well which makes it convenient when scheduling calls with multiple people so I can see when they have overlapping availabilities.
  • Integration with Zoom and Microsoft Teams for video calls that can be added from the calendar invite itself

Cons

  • Sometimes the meeting invites don't show the entire meeting name in the email, and you can't hover over it or anything to see what the full title is.

Return on Investment

  • It has saved me time.
  • It has helped me be more productive and focused with my time.
  • Because it's so ubiquitous across other organizations, it has made it really convenient when scheduling with outside organizations as well.

Great for straightforward calendar management

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Schedule meetings, set some repeating tasks, define agenda's, show when I'm available or in vacation. Set the link for the meeting of Google hangout. Seeing other colleagues availability to be able to schedule a meeting or know if they're joining or not and also being able to open some space for interviews.

Pros

  • Find a space in my calendar and the rest to meet
  • Show you some analytics of how your week is
  • Adding different types of calendars and managing them
  • Visualizing my calendar and moments of free time

Cons

  • Being able to group a team much easier so I don't have to add the same people over and over again without having to have access right to create a Google group
  • Room or space management, because of repeating events the rooms of the office tend to be always "occupied" but not everyone is there due to how the new hybrid way of working is
  • Better way of working together in the calendar events where it's easier for the team to prepare if I give a clearer better UI of all the documents/presentations they might need to look over

Return on Investment

  • Saves time trying to align a space in everyone's calendar
  • It's connected to the rest of the g-suite allowing for smoother working together which saves time

Must have tool for professionals

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Google Calendar is an excellent tool for scheduling events and meetings and planning your day. It is a great collaboration tool since you can view one's schedule and organize events accordingly. It also provides alerts before the scheduled event's time, which is great since one need not be memorizing or tracking each event manually. I use Google Calendar extensively for my daily professional scheduling and organizing meets.

Pros

  • Scheduling and manipulating time slots for an event or meet
  • Provides alerts before the scheduled event's time
  • Direct integration with google meet which enables the user to organize a hassle free meeting.
  • Subscription to other's google calendar's to keep a track of their schedule.
  • Integration of multiple calendars into one.

Cons

  • When multiple events are scheduled in a single time slot, the visualization of the events becomes confusing.
  • No integration with other video conferencing platforms other than google meet.
  • UI of Google Calendar's mobile application gets confusing when working with multiple calendars

Return on Investment

  • Enables time punctuality for events or meets by providing alerts
  • Enables geographically separated teams to collaborate using a single calendar .
  • Enables people to organize offline events and mark available time slots.

Great service for the price!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am able to see what is due by my students when I look at Google Calendar based off of what I have assigned for them in Google Classroom. It puts it into Google Calendar and I can see not only the work that is due by my students, but things that I have put into the calendar that I have to do.

Pros

  • Allows me to see what I have to do for the week.
  • Helps me to keep track of meetings.
  • Helps me to keep up with family activities.
