GNS3 Review

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I have been using GNS3 for more than 4 years, and it is a really useful program. With GNS3, we can create practical labs with all of their contents of routers, switches, wired, and wireless communication devices, all without incurring any costs, which is great. This product is special because it solved a problem at work, namely, linking physical devices to virtual devices within the program.

Pros

  • The possibility of applying integrated labs that simulate reality by more than 90%.
  • It enables the addition of different network devices from all vendors with the possibility of integration between them.

Cons

  • In my opinion, the program consumes a lot of device resources, especially when using the iOS version.
  • The program does not contain network devices, so you need to search for the network devices that you need and add them manually.

Most Important Features

  • Export configuration files
  • Export, share, and edit work files
  • Connect some network devices with Vmware Workstation

Return on Investment

  • Reducing spending on physical equipment
  • Improving the quality of output work
  • Developing the efficiency of the work team
