GFI Systems, works well but it's not perfect.
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We primarily use GFI Systems to stay on top of our client's workstations and servers. Mostly we use it for patch management, to proactively spot and deal with issues, web protection as well as remotely troubleshoot problems. We do use it for backups in some cases but this feature isn't as robust as we'd like and it can get a bit pricey relative to other backup services.
Pros
- Remote access to workstation works well
- Web protection is decent but at times it does cause issues with some software
- Gives us a convenient dashboard to have a overview of our client's network health.
Cons
- Pricing can get a bit pricey especially if you add in all the bells and whistles.
Return on Investment
- GFI Systems does save us a lot of time and makes it very convenient to manage clients. Remote access usually works well.
- For our business GFI Systems is a bit expensive. The total cost is like hiring a full time employee.
- It would be nice if the backup function was more robust and better thought out. Until then, we are seeking another service for our client's backup needs.
