Business Problems Solved
Flock is widely used as a primary collaboration tool alongside Asana, allowing multiple teams to communicate and coordinate effectively. With Flock, team members can stay connected and work together seamlessly, even if they are currently working on different projects. This makes it a valuable resource for organizations of all sizes. In fact, Flock is often considered the lifeblood of firms, being used daily for communication, calendaring, note-taking, and more. Its ability to solve the communication problem is particularly beneficial for small teams or 2-person firms that may not always be in the office together. Additionally, Flock has gained a reputation as the most reliable communication software within organizations, with employees from various departments relying on its features. One reason for this reliability is the automatic opening feature of Flock, which ensures that everyone remembers to open the software. This level of dependability makes Flock a go-to choice for seamless communication within an office, regardless of department or team structure. Moreover, Flock's collaborative nature and streamlined communication process are widely regarded as its best features. From cloud-based file transfer and storage to cloud messaging and multiple device access to messages, Flock offers flexibility that enhances teamwork and productivity. Its convenience as an instant messaging tool reduces the need for frequent emails within an organization, making it a valuable asset for efficient and effective internal communication. Furthermore, Flock's ability to create separate channels for different departments and specialty groups allows for targeted messaging and collaboration within the entire company. Lastly, some organizations have chosen Flock after experiencing limitations with message storage on other platforms, highlighting its reliability in solving critical storage issues. Overall, Flock's user-friendly interface and comprehensive set of features make it an essential tool for organizations looking to foster better collaboration and streamline communication processes across their teams.
We use this as inter office communication as well as for communicating between multiple locations. It allows us to send messages and pictures directly to others instantly without waiting for responses. It also allows for one on one check ins with supervisors, and a great way to alert our team of announcements as well. We have also used it for personal notes and even ways to send files and items from our desktop to our phones and vice versa.
Pros
Instant messaging across multiple platforms
File sharing made easy
Team announcements
Different channels for communication flow
Photos and video sharing
Great applications for desktop and mobile applications
Cons
Storage lacks unless you used a paid plan
Better job of keeping the detail of some images and videos when sharing
Easier way of removing people from a team
More direct features depending on usage or channel type.

This is a great option for teams where not all members are present (work from home, multi locations, road warriors, etc.) as well as creating better communication channels across your business. It is great for communicating parts to grab to people in a warehouse where you can tell them the parts but also share a picture of what they are looking for. It works great for announcing when a meeting is about to start or when the office lunch arrives. It is great for morale with sending memes and encouragement to each other. It is not a great way to talk to clients or prospective customers. This is strictly designed more for teams and businesses to use for chatting purposes.
As a small IT services organization, we needed a software for internal communication and sharing infrmation between team members. Flock had all the features that suited our needs. File sharing, direct chat and group communication helped our teams to collabaorate and work together as a team for developing software projects effectively and on time.
Pros
Direct Chat
File and Document Sharing
Reminders
To-Do Lists
Cons
Call Quality is low at times
New AI based features should be integrated
Integration with other Apps
Likelihood to Recommend
In my opinion, Flock is best suited for small and medium organizations with need for a low cost solution and quick and easy setup without the need for a lot of administration and maintenenance. It might not suit the needs of large organizations who need a commercial team collaboration product with a bigger feature set.

Flock is used internally in the organization for communication between employees and within teams. It helps us to communicate via instant messenger, personal chat, and group chat. We also use it for voice and video calls. Since our organization has teams of developers, they need Flock to discuss technical matters and share files and documents.
Pros
Instant Messaging.
File and Document Sharing.
Integration with Google Docs.
Cons
Voice and Video calls.
Searching
Stability

Flock is very well suited in scenarios where individuals must communicate via chat. It also works great when teams need to communicate via group chat messages. File and document sharing is another area where Flocks works well. Channels are used for discussions on specific topics or organization-wide announcements. Flock may be less appropriate when you use it for voice and video calls. Where.

The team uses Flock alongside Asana (our primary collaboration tool). We have multiple teams working separately with Asana, and Flock is the one place we can all communicate and coordinate together. So it keeps us all connected and working together even if some members are currently working on different projects.
Pros
Communication
Note Taking
Cons
More detailed functionality
Task Management

Flock is a great communication tool. However, it's in a very competitive space. It offers seamless app integration (i.e., google calendar and drive) to allow for easy use across the platform. It's a great communication tool. However, if you don't need an overloaded app, there are other options out there. And for work purposes, it only covers some of what you need.
Flock is basically the lifeblood of our firm. We use it daily for communication, calendaring, notes and anything else you can think of. We are a 2 person firm and we are never usually in the office together so it solves the communication problem perfectly. I can't imagine how we organized our notes pre-Flock.
Pros
Real-time communication is perfect.
The mobile apps really let us take everything on the go.
It integrates perfectly with our calendar.
Cons
Search functionality is great but could always be improved.
Maybe some more UI configurations. Allow the end-user to customize more. Color coding always helps.
Improve to-do apps. It's somewhat convoluted to use.

The elephant in the room is Slack, and I personally think Flock takes the best parts of Slack and improves upon them in a more cost-effective package. It is perfect for a small team. Especially if the team members are rarely together. The mobile app really keeps us all updated in real-time.
Flock is a great resource for communication within the office. We use Flock throughout our entire office and we have also added people from other departments into some of our chats that pertained to them. We have all of our computers set to automatically open Flock when our computers are turned on every morning. This is great because no one 'forgets' to open it and then misses important messages.
Pros
Flock prevents us from having to stop what we are doing to go over to someone else's desk to communicate with them.
Flock makes is easy to send out office wide messages to go to each person who has been added to our chat.
Flock allows multiple chats to be set up under each account. For each chat, the original person who created the chat can choose who is in the chat and also whether each person is allowed to read-only or to also send messages.
Flock has a built-in to-do list. On this list, you have the option of assigning each task to a different person/user and then can check off each item as it is completed.
Cons
There is a 10,000 message limit but this shouldn't be too much of an issue unless you are sending LOTS of messages.
Audio and video quality can sometimes be distorted during video chats.

Flock is great for an office setting where there are several employees who all work together but that are located in different areas of the office. We are able to keep an ongoing chat to quickly resolve any issues or answer/ask any questions amongst each other. Flock would not be great for constant video communication as the audio and video quality can sometimes be a little off.
I was using Flock heavily for a while. It's free plan covered a lot of the requirements my decentralized booking team needed. We ended up moving to another platform to better address our needs, however I still do recommend Flock for its use and features. The best feature is its collaborative nature and streamlined communication process.
Pros
The ability to start a direct group conversation or individual-to-individual conversation helped us sort through creative problem-solving.
Sharing files such as photos from job sites or costume ideas helped us with creative brainstorming.
The integration with Google Drive and Dropbox also allowed us to streamline our conversations about creative solutions.
Cons
A tool is only good if people use it. Some of the artists I work with found it too complex (though I don't think they really gave it a good shot).
We used it heavily for about six months and it didn't hit too many other big negative points.
Likelihood to Recommend
The biggest problem we are looking to solve with use of Flock was to have a centralized place that our booking department and casting department along with artists and agents could come to talk about projects and design creative solutions. For the most part, Flock achieves this. It might've only been lack of better on-boarding on our own end, but some of our artists find it too complex to use (or maybe they just didn't try hard to figure it out).
We used Flock as a messaging tool for the entire company. Each department had different channels, specialty groups had channels, and we also used it for one-on-one communication.
We'd used Slack in the past but dropped it due to the limited message storage with the free version. We moved to Glip (a message service that comes with the RingCentral suite of tools), but as we moved away from RingCentral, we needed a new tool. Flock was a decent tool compared to the rest. Unfortunately, there was a similar messaging limit with Flock, but we stuck with it anyway.
Pros
Good value (we used the free plan and it did plenty).
There were some additional messaging properties (sending stickers, being alerted when changes were made to GDocs, etc) that were nice.
Few bugs, UX issues, or errors.
Cons
Gifs--a popular feature of messaging programs like Slack--were pretty weak with Flock. You didn't get to choose which one you wanted (like the way Slack used to be), but the selection seemed to be pretty limited/bad, and it also seemed like the gifs were sped up? So they looked pretty bad.
There were only ~5 reactions available (like, thumbs up, laugh, sad, angry?). Although better than Glip (you can only "like" in Glip), it would be nice to have more variety there.
Likelihood to Recommend
We originally moved to Flock because we thought it did not have the messaging limit that Slack has--and that would have been our only reason. Unfortunately, it has the same limit. So it's basically just a lesser version of Slack, with fewer fun features like gifs and reactions. I'm not sure why anyone would pick Flock over Slack if you are going for a free messaging service.
