I used to love Evernote for business and personal to document anything and everything, I had a paid plan but then the amount went up dramatically. I feel that Evernote has priced themselves out of the market. I now use notion.app. I can write my notes and search for notes later, so far it is working well. Once I went to Free Evernote, I was bombarded to sign back up for a mere yearly fee of $159 if I do personal and $209 if I do business (of course they offer a lower one-time deal that will go away ...but oddly enough I see it again and again). In my opinion, it's not worth the value I get from the tool nor the hassle of the pop-ups to buy the product.
Pros
Searchable content
Easy to write notes
Easy to upload a document
Cons
Pricing
Hassling customer to purchase a paid plan
Too many pop-ups when not on a paid plan
Likelihood to Recommend
The reason I give it a 4 is I had a larger business operation I might find it a valuable tool but being a small business owner, just not worth the dollars.

I used it for basic note-taking and project management needs. I could easily sync across devices and access it wherever I needed to.
Pros
Easy to use.
Syncs across devices.
It also has a lot of features (templates, tasks, tags, etc.) to accommodate different styles and breadth of complexity depending on what you're looking for from a note-taking tool.
Cons
The free version is fairly limited.
The free version is also bug-prone.
Upgrades are pricey.
Likelihood to Recommend
It's really helpful for simple notes and projects. Less so for complex tasks that require many collaborators and deadlines.
I am using Evernote as a way to organize and manage my thoughts relating to business ideas, as an independent freelancer I use it on a weekly basis to put together ideas and plans of action. Evernote is a multi-platform web and mobile application as well there is a Windows application for it.
Pros
syncing notes
backing up and saving notes
privacy
Cons
exporting all data
basic plan has limited functionality
Likelihood to Recommend
I would recommend Evernote for someone who wants a secure and safe way to organize notes to be stored in the cloud and accessible anywhere with an internet connection. There are many note taking applications but this has been around the longest and is the most reliable application I have found.

Evernote is not the wide scale system solution for note taking, but many people have opted to use it on their own personal machines. It helps users capture notes in real time when engaging in conversations. With the latest release, it became a bit harder to share the notes with non-ever note account users, and this was disruptive to the workflow for many. Overall great notetaking product - but a little bit difficult to translate those notes to actionable follow-ups.
Pros
Tagging
Templates
Quick-Start Note taking
Cons
Sharing to non-Evernote users
ability to create and see followups from actions created in notes
Likelihood to Recommend
Great product -- seems to make the most sense for individuals.

I used Evernote at this job to take notes when I was in meetings on my mobile device and iPad and then be able to see those notes later from my computer and edit and update those notes later. Evernote helped eliminate paper needs for notetaking for me, and I was able to always use a device that I had on me at any time which made it really convenient.
Pros
Evernote was compatible on every device I had, iPhones, Androids, tablets and computers.
Evernote [synced] well and my notes were always available on all my devices fairly quickly.
Evernote always had lots of options when taking notes like take a photo or type in notes or handwrite your notes.
Cons
Can get pricey if you use it a lot.
Only a limited number of devices available for free accounts.
Only limited size notes allowed for free accounts.
Likelihood to Recommend
Evernote is great if you only need it on one or two devices and you don't take a lot of media rich notes, like adding pictures or PDF's to your notes. It is super handy because you pretty much always have your mobile device available so you always have a note taking device with you, and it syncs back to your computer at your desk automatically because its cloud based.
We use Evernote individually per user. We use it basically to keep track of notes or personal reminders of activities [and] journaling across devices and then combine them in Excel or Word according to the [project] at hand. We also integrate with our CRM and other platforms like Asana or Trello.
Pros
Auto save option regardless of device
Security and passwords to prevent data theft and privacy
Ease of use
Cons
Sometimes the text title format gets clunky
Likelihood to Recommend
I think it's great for personal use [...] to take notes, thoughts and organize them, then it can be escalated to a team.

It is just being used by me to take notes. I'm not sure if the whole organization bought it. I'm one of the only team members that exclusively uses it that I know of, everyone else keeps notes in notebooks and Microsoft OneNote.
Pros
Simple to load up.
Easy categorize different topics through notebooks.
Cons
Searching through all notebooks option is missing.
Better way to organize notes within each notebook.
Likelihood to Recommend
In business, there are many times where we need to go back into our notes to remember what happened, especially in quick situations. It's great as a way to keep a running note of what's going on, and you can be able to paste images in it. It's not appropriate to use as a to-do list since it doesn't have that feature. If you have a lot of notebooks, it can be clunky in terms of trying to find certain things.

Multiple people in our organization use Evernote regularly. For me, the biggest use is meeting notes. Every time a meeting starts, I'm using a Meeting Notes template to take notes on action items/todos, outstanding questions, etc.
It's honestly an extension of my brain at this point. I'm not sure what I'd do without it. I like that I can create checklists of items to cover in a one on one, or simply a list of tasks.
If I'm working on a project with others, I can share the note and collaborate on it much like a Google doc, but it feels more private because it's not owned by Google.
Pros
Meeting notes - every meeting I'm a part of gets a note in Evernote. When I'm trying to remember what was said, who said it, or who committed to a specific task, I refer to my Evernote notes.
Cross-platform - The real draw for our organization is that it doesn't matter if someone is on a Mac or PC, or prefers Firefox over Chrome. It just works and looks good doing it. There are some great platform-specific note-taking apps that are pretty enticing as a Mac user, but for an organization, we need the flexibility of it being platform-independent.
Collaboration - you can share notes with others who can contribute and edit. This is good for working through a new piece of documentation. Collaborators can work on it privately before posting to our company Wiki.
Cons
I'd like to see more flexibility around the collaboration aspect. I really like the "view only" and "comment only" features of Google docs. I think this would be a great addition to the collaboration tools.
For individual users or people with small budgets, the "Upgrade" popups/reminders can be pretty invasive. I wish they were slightly less aggressive, but I understand they have a business to run as well. My wish would be to communicate the upgrade options via email vs. in-app. For my personal accounts, I'd be much more apt to purchase an upgrade if the pricing was closer to Bear's less-expensive option.
This is probably more of a niche feature, but markdown support would help some more technical users IMO, and competitors like Bear offer this as an option.
Likelihood to Recommend
It's great for collaboration on document drafts, meeting notes, and simply unloading things from your brain to a safe place. It is a great tool for standardizing note-taking across an organization because of its platform independence.
It does lack some flexibility if you want to share with "Editors" to make suggestions. The only current option for collaboration is equivalent to Google docs "Edit" collaboration feature, which is a lot.
Overall, still one of the best pure note-taking options out there that work on pretty much every device/browser.

It is more used as an individual tool. Our company teaches GTD training and Evernote can be used as a capture tool. I have seen many individuals use it as a way to capture ideas that they need to go back to later, and notes for meetings.
Pros
Syncing to multiple devices.
Quick to capture notes and thoughts.
Easy to use layout.
Cons
Sometimes when using images it is hard to add text to the bottom.
I wish I could turn notes into notebooks after published.
Sometimes the clipper adds the notes into random places if you are not careful.
Likelihood to Recommend
It is a great tool for capturing ideas and organizing them. It should be used with other tools and collaboration methods, but I like how easy it is to capture items and copy and paste them into other needed or mandated software. It is great for things you want to go back and review later, but not the best if you are needing alarms to remind you to look at it.
Evernote is used by our organization on an individual level. Evernote is a fabulous note-taking and organization platform that makes it easy to stay on top of meeting and conference notes. Evernote saves notes in real time and allows the user to organize their notes as well as share with other potential team members.
Pros
Autosaves notes in real time
Allows for sharing
Makes it easy to create new notes and look back on old notes
Cons
Requires WiFi connection
Not as many people in my organization use Evernote
I wish there was more customization and color features
Likelihood to Recommend
Evernote is a platform that is well suited for taking notes during meetings, phone calls, conferences, etc. It is also great for organizing personal information and event planning. Evernote may be less suitable or appropriate for organization-wide collaboration. I haven't used it across various teams so it may be something that would work for other companies.
