Business Problems Solved
Dotloop has revolutionized the way real estate professionals handle their transactions and paperwork. With its user-friendly interface and powerful features, it offers a range of use cases that have made the lives of agents, assistants, and clients much easier.
One key use case is the ability to keep all documents related to a property organized in one place. Users can easily upload and store contracts, addendums, and other important files, eliminating the need for physical paperwork and reducing the risk of misplaced documents. This has been particularly beneficial for large property management offices like the one at a hospital, where it has significantly reduced the time spent on signing, filing, recording data, and reporting.
Another valuable use case of Dotloop is its seamless e-signature functionality. Users can send contracts and other documents to clients and other parties involved in a transaction for signatures in just seconds. This eliminates the need for in-person meetings or mailing physical copies of documents, making the entire process more efficient and convenient. Clients can sign purchase agreements and other important forms from anywhere, without having to leave their homes.
Additionally, Dotloop's collaboration features have streamlined communication between real estate professionals and their clients. Users can easily share digitized documents with trusted partners and affiliates, ensuring everyone is on the same page throughout the transaction process. This has improved transparency and eliminated the need for excessive back-and-forth emails or phone calls.
Overall, Dotloop has become an invaluable tool for real estate professionals by providing a centralized platform for document organization, e-signatures, and collaboration. Its intuitive design and time-saving features have made it a preferred choice among agents, assistants, clients, and transaction managers alike.
We acquired Dotloop as a real estate transaction management support . The idea was to be able to write offers, listings, and communicate with all parties within one platform. In this industry there are many moving parts - Realtors, assistants, escrow, title, clients, mortgage, etc. that you need to communicate with so a really good to streamline things is vital. In addition, there is lots of compliance involved so having dynamic workflows and cadences is very important.

The free account is great and the customer service people are so nice! However, the premium business account turned out to be an expensive mistake. PLEASE READ before you upgrade from their free account. Note, I've been in real estate for two decades and the Brokers I've connected with that used Dotloop in the past have also had the same issue. They're credible sources but elected to receive a refund from Dotloop versus writing a negative review on these platforms. This has nothing to do with G2 - it's Dotloop's unethical practices to save face and continue marketing a mediocre product.
My experience: despite my sales rep promising a world of support his follow-up was nonexistent, leaving us to fend for ourselves to try to fix what ended up being an unresolvable issue. Here's the issue: their claim to have partnerships with all MLS platforms is a blatant lie. Not all MLS's are supported! This is a significant issue in the real estate community when it comes to purchasing a real estate solutions platform.
Their relationship with "thousands" of MLS listing services is only valuable to the ones that work those specific areas. Fine, you need time to grow THAT'S OK! but let a consumer know, so they can make an informed decision to purchase your product! The sales rep won't tell you this, the onboarding person won't tell you this. You find out when you try to put in your first offer or listing! Yup, AFTER YOU SIGNED YOUR 6-MONTH CONTRACT! No one took responsibility for not communicating this early on. Everyone just pointed the finger at other departments and did absolutely nothing to alleviate the situation.
To add insult to injury, the system crashes during peak usage, making it near impossible to submit offers promptly. I am more than open to provide the video showing both when the system crashes and the aforementioned issue.
And let's not forget their "success" team - utterly ineffective! When I realized that the MLS data was not going to be populated into the CAR forms because they didn’t have a partnership with MetroMLS, they dismissed my concerns, suggesting I wait out a pointless six-month cancellation period. Each call felt like they were more concerned with defending their subpar software than addressing my legitimate issues. Avoid this company at all costs. Oh, and if you try to hold for a manager they'll hang up on you. Happened to me 7 times! Stick with Glide Free and invest in a transaction coordinator for a smoother experience. It's the smarter choice.

Dotloop helps all of our staff members stay organized and provides folders for each property and sale. In Real Estate, it is so easy to become disorganized and lose a paper, and it gets extremely tiring to print out paperwork for contracts and day-to-day documents. Dotloop provides an organized way to keep all documents pertaining to a particular property together and send contracts and documents over to clients and other parties of the transaction for signatures in just seconds. Genius program!
Pros
Organization
Clear and easy to use.
Easy for clients to grasp.
Keeps everyone “in the loop”.
Cons
Sometimes loops and folders can disappear or be hidden.

In Real Estate sales and property management, Dotloop will be your best friend. When you need clients or tenants to sign a lease or a contract, sending through dotloop is extremely easygoing and keeps everything organized pertaining to what you name the loop. I think I speak for my whole office when I say that without dotloop, our lives would be a disorderly mess, and we would find ourselves losing papers and becoming confused. Dotloop really helps our office like no other and has great support along the way!
I use Dotloop for all my Real Estate transactions, whether I am representing a buyer, seller, or renter. Dotloop makes it easy to keep all my files in one place and organized so I can easily manage my transactions. It is great to be able to add my transaction manager to the loop and keep the communication about that transaction, all in one place. Overall, Dotloop helps me stay organized and efficient.
Pros
Allows customization of templates
Provides helpful tips
Helps transactions stay organized and on track to close

Every time we buy or sell a house we enter the data into Dotloop. It is a way to digitize documents and share them with trusted partners and the people involved on the other side of a transaction. This helps alleviate the problem of having to store paper documents, and still being compliant, and it makes the recovery of those documents quite easy.
Pros
Saves Data in an organized fashion.
Ease of transferring documents.
Is easily integrated into the MLS index and inventory of properties.
Cons
Sometimes the program freezes as it updates an upload.
I wish it would notify users of a pending document via text to create urgency.
I wish it would accept jpg instead of just pdf.

This is the perfect software for real estate. It is very intuitive, and being able to use shortcuts to put in additional signature boxes or initial boxes saves so much time, especially in a complicated transaction with multiple signatures needed. I wish it would be used by more agents rather than DocuSign because I believe it is much more functional.
Dotloop is being used for Real Estate Transactions. We use it company-wide and our agents are required to put their contracts in Dotloop and submit it for company review. It allows agents/assistants to obtain client signatures, addendums from anywhere. We use it for our record keeping of real estate transactions. So it allows everyone to work any time from anywhere.
Pros
Signature verifications - doesn't allow multiple users for the same email
Workflows - keeps the flow of the transaction well, and allows for remote communication between office and agent
Cons
Workflows - they could be more customizable, and effective immediately instead of new loops only
Reports - this could be MUCH more expanded; including client reports, broken down by agents, clients, new by date, etc.

[Dotloop] is excellent for obtaining clients signatures and information, syncing with other programs (we use BrokerSumo> which then goes to Quickbooks), tracking views, maintaining good document records, and remote communication within the office.
It creates accountability by being able to know when and what time a document has been opened, and signature verifications.
It would be beneficial to have the tiered client sharing, where once client 1 signs, it gets sent to client 2; this would reduce the complications associated with filling sellers disclosures, since it will wipe out the other persons signatures if they sign it first.
We use Dotloop in our office for e-signing documents such as listing agreements, closing agreements, and any other real estate forms. I personaly use it to get leases and renewal signed as well as management agreements.
Pros
Being able to sign a document without having to come into the office.
Being able to have multiple people sign that document.
Having everything saved in one place is a plus.
Cons
I'd like to see better functionality on the property management side. Right now it seems geared more toward real estate sales, which is fine. I make it work for me.
It would be nice to be able to just choose signature, date, or initials etc. and just be able to click every line and have it appear rather than having to click on the item you want every time. I know you can copy and paste but you have to click paste every time.
It would be great if people could sign using one email. I get why they have to have separate emails, so that not just one person is signing for everyone but it would be great if there was some other way to be able to get more than one person to sign using just one email. A lot of people don't have separate emails or even an email address at all.

Dotloop is well suited for all of our signing needs. I love it. It makes things so much easier.
The brokerage I belonged to used it for rental (and presumably sale) transactions; it allows for document sharing and keeping track of tasks like e-signatures, identification uploads, edits, etc. It streamlines the transaction process by putting everything in one place that multiple agents and administrators can access. We attached rental applications and contracts to it, and shared task lists so that everyone knew what was missing and what needed to be done next.
Pros
Various permissions, so privacy is ensured but tasks can be shared with the right parties
Status differentiation to make it easy to see what needs to be done next
Fairly decent customer service
Cons
Somewhat clunky interface that can be a little dizzying at times
Weird login protocols (at least when I was using it), making it hard to switch from the free to paid version or vice versa
Membership limitations that make businesses buy more subscriptions than they need, or not enough
Likelihood to Recommend
Dotloop seems to be a great tool for real estate transactions. For the small brokerage I was in, I know the cost was somewhat prohibitive and caused the administration to make agents share accounts to save money, which made some transactions a logistical mess, but if there were more forgiving membership tiers that issue might be avoided.

We currently use Dotloop as a way to connect buyers and sellers to their agents and other affiliates without having to leave their homes. We send purchase agreements and other documents that need to be signed to them via email and they are able to sign wherever they are.
Pros
Ease of use
Reliability
Convenience
Security
Privacy
Cons
Uploading information from the MLS on the phone app
Being able to separate loops when a purchase doesn't go through
Search capacity when loops are archived

I use Dotloop whenever I get a new client and use it as a way to track what forms have been signed and what part of the process we are in. It's very nice to be able to send someone a document that needs to be signature verified and they're able to sign it in their car, at work, or anywhere. There is a certain demographic that does not have a great trust in electronic signature programs so they tend to be more of a pen and paper type situation.
