DISCO Ediscovery is well-suited for simple e-discovery where you're just reviewing for responsiveness and privileged and producing documents in response to a subpoena. It's not as well-suited to be the e-discovery platform in a large case where you're a party and need to search through large discovery productions for key documents.

We use DISCO Ediscovery as our firm wide e-Discovery platform. We use it for document review and productions in our litigation practice. DISCO Ediscovery allows us to efficiently and accurately review client data and incoming productions, provides a user-friendly interface to tag and interact with documents, as well as a smooth production system.
Pros
Document organization
Document tagging and foldering
Easy searchability
Easy production interface
Cons
After-hours support

I am pleased with DISCO Ediscovery, from cover to cover. DISCO Ediscovery staff has always been responsive and the system is easy to navigate, especially for newcomers to e-Discovery. I would recommend the program to anyone looking for e-Discovery needs, especially to anyone just starting out in the e-Discovery world.

We've used it for doc review and productions. Most recently, we have started using Case Builder. It has been wonderfully fast to ingest and prepare the documents for attorney review.
Pros
Ingest
Tagging
QC
Productions
Case Builder functions for depositions
Cons
Being able to force the system to import the documents in a specific order. Some clients pre-organize the documents a certain way, the same happens with opposing counsel productions.
To be able to generate an audit report of all completed work tasks done in a database. Especially since there is more than one administrator.
Organizing more the structure of the learning paths. It's a great system but, for me, I get lost. It could be that I am not navigating it properly.
Likelihood to Recommend
It's user-friendly and very intuitive. It has many capabilities that are out of the box, and it does not need to do any workaround. Also, there are many ways to do the same thing which is great when we are in a rush and how a user learns. Attorneys are loving the Case Builder function. I am happy that we can streamline processes and get to do more of what we love to do versus being bogged down by tedious steps.

We used DISCO to review and code a large document production in response to a subpoena for records. It was used by a team across more than one company/firm to identify documents for categorizing and easier reference.
Pros
Provides a great application in which detailing documents is relatively simple.
Provides user friendly data entry possibilities.
Provides ways to assign groups of documents seamlessly for a large reviewer pool.
Cons
The keyboard macros were not always functional, but copy and paste worked fine.
Sometimes the input boxes wouldn't automatically enlarge so that all the narrative was showing.
Rotating a page resulted in rotating all pages even when that wasn't necessary.
Likelihood to Recommend
It is great for large production reviews. However, I am not sure if you can highlight passages or mark documents confidential as those tasks were not part of our use of this platform. I don't know the fee structure for using this platform, so I am not sure it would be cost effective for small productions.

DISCO is being used to host a large number of documents related to a fraud dispute. Our dispute Resolution Team is using it. It allows us to quickly batch out and review documents when they are received from other parties, as well as filter and search for specific documents effectively when required.
Pros
Search builder - this visual method of searching is very intuitive.
Doc review - the ability to customize the options available to reviewers helps to streamline workflow.
Ingesting - this is quick and easy to achieve.
Cons
I personally think that the landing page can look a bit overwhelming, especially when the majority of the screen is a list of documents.
Likelihood to Recommend
DISCO is very well suited to document review and file management when the case is known to be large and potentially last for a long period of time. It is also useful when the team on the case is fairly large, as it allows for effective and easy work distribution.

I use DISCO Ediscovery in discovery for large class action cases and MDL's (multidistrict litigation). Only my team uses it. We use it to review and share documents in e-discovery.
Pros
Viewing documents
Tagging documents
Gathering metadata
Cons
Organization of documents
Ability to add comments
Likelihood to Recommend
DISCO Ediscovery is an intuitive platform that makes document review and tagging easy and uniform. One problem we have always had with document review is that people use the categories inconsistently. This seems to happen less with DISCO Ediscovery, mostly likely due to features such as being able to look at related documents quickly and easily. Although each screen provides a large amount of data, it is easy to read and take in. I have recommended DISCO Ediscovery to my firm and fellow paralegals frequently.
Exhibit Slip Sheets should contain metadata if so specified
More automated data and system information about production sets
Very slow processing speed for mass actions
Likelihood to Recommend
I assume that the majority of my complaints have to do with the difficulty in DISCO Ediscovery obtaining the intellectual property necessary to enhance the process further, and accordingly, DISCO Ediscovery may be less developed than Relativity - which I have used.

DISCO Ediscovery is being used across our organization for ediscovery review, production, document management, and exhibit preparation. It addresses a need to have a method to directly access the facts of a case for reviewing discovery, sending discovery, and preparing motions. It allows us to ingest and analyze significant information sets from multiple sources in a single easy to use database and allows us to better delegate work across our employees in a manner we could not do previously.
Pros
Improves Document Searchability
Ease of use for document review and filtering
Ease of use for redacting and producing documents
Allows more efficient preparation of production and exhibit sets
Cons
Allow bates labeling to be completed at ingest
Providing a guide for load file ingest and remediation of load file errors
Availability of predictive tagging in matters with smaller production than is currently necessary
Improve ability to review and summarize medical records
Ability at ingest to break up a single large document into individual documents for review, whether through a manual or AI-driven process
Likelihood to Recommend
DISCO Ediscovery is well suited to any case with documents needing review, whether being produced by or from you. It improves user's ability to search, cull, filter, redact, and identify documents in a single, user-friendly system. It may be less appropriate in smaller cases, or cases with simple facts and little documentary discovery. However, even then, it would probably still be useful if available.
