I use Db2 for all our back end processing and use it to handle a huge amount of transactions daily. It’s great for large data processing, especially for critical systems like point of sale and finance data security and also the ability to share data with each other makes everything work fast and efficiently.
Pros
from my experience I can tell that Db2 is quite reliable and stable even when put under heavy loads
it is very easy to use and the commands are also very easy to learn which makes administrating very simple
it can process data very quickly which saves us a lot of time and makes us more efficient
Cons
when the dark mode is on it can be frustrating to use since it's hard to tell what is going on
it lacks some of the connectivity options that Oracle provides by default and I think it is quite disappointing
it can be expensive for frequent data transfers from on-premise to the cloud
Likelihood to Recommend
I’d recommend Db2 to anyone needing a robust database for real-time transactions and it’s especially great for businesses handling a high volume of data, like retail and finance. The security is solid and IBM support is better than other vendors I’ve worked with.
I have been a long time Db2 user starting with version 7.7 and working through to the latest version and I can definitely tell you that when it comes to dependability and scalability and resource intensive applications, Db2 is the best solution that you'll ever need. And with its smooth interface which uses cobol and mainframe systems, managing large volumes is very easy and effective.
Pros
almost near zero downtime
simple UI and can easily be used using sql syntax
compatible with both older and modern systems
Cons
should have a option where we can create our own shortcut keys for different jobs
currently only supports a few other language apart from english
can be complex for some users
Likelihood to Recommend
From my experience IBM Db2 is best suited for environments which needs outstanding performance, security compliance and scalability and I think that this is what makes it the best if not the perfect solution for every company. Also we found the strong cobol application support very helpful and a perfect fit for us.
As it is used in a School setting - DB2 is mainly used in Records Management and Data Integration as it is at the heart of the School Management Systems that are used. As it is used as a central repository for all records for all contacts (which in turn feeds into our Records Management system) - it simplifies the data collection process and allows easy interrogation of the data. It allows for automation and data transformations that can drive the business to use the data in a beneficial way for long-term planning and longitudinal tracking for students.
Pros
Query Processing.
Scalabity
3rd Party Data Integration.
Automation
Cons
Certain linguistic choices of SL can be confusing, "=" is not "is".
Better and friendlier interface (although predominantly thats a 3rd party issue).
Granting access rights can be haphazard.

I have primarily used it as the basis for a SIS - but I have migrated more than a few systems from there database systems to DB2 (Filemaker, mySQL, etc.). DB2 does have a better structural approach, as opposed to Filemaker, which allows for more data consistency, but this can also lead to an inflexibility that can sometimes be counterintuitive when attempting to compensate for the flexibility of the work environment as Schools tend to have an all in one approach.

We handle large volumes of structured data, and Db2 is scalable and reliable for storing critical business data. We use in-memory processing and indexing to optimize the data query, managing customer accounts, transactions, risk assessments, claims processing, and customer policies. It integrates seamlessly with our applications, analytics platforms, and reporting tools. The fact that we can use JavaScript and SQL alongside Db2 makes it an amazing and powerful tool for any need we might have in the future.
Pros
Integration with JS
SQL queries
Optimization
Fast Data retrieval
Cons
Visual management
Add AI to construct queries based on the schema being used
More tutorials and simple access for students so they can explore the tool

Just look at the big companies using it and you will see that it can be used on a simple bakery system and Crew Management for Aviation. Of course smaller the business less it becomes viable. We need to understand the needs of the client. The best use I saw was in Big data access and management. The least efficient way to use is to small data sets.

Db2 is powerful database management system and its capability of string and analysing large amount of data for the business and for the transaction processing like use in banking or any ware house infrastructure. Through this our company handle large amount of structural data with good performance and security optimization features.
Pros
Db2 is used in online transaction processing
Storage capability
Integration with AI and machine learning
Security
Cons
Potential improvement user friendlly
Cloud integration features
User interface for monitoring and analyzing

Db2 is store high volume of data because of it features like multiple column and row capabilities. Db2 used in banking require boost system so that Data security and compliance is most important. It is very costly for the smaller type organisation it setup administration is more overhauling for short type organisation, need light features to store

IBM's Db2 is the most low latency enterprises database which supports for faster realtime as well as supporting low latency transactions equipped with full availability. Our use case for in order to use Db2 is to store all our banking related datas ( user data, bank/ATM branches data, Transaction purpose ), Assets inventory and some data of our own datalake which helds massive amount of data for showcasing analysis for various use cases.
Pros
Support for Integrations with Public cloud vendors
Rich Monitoring and Metrics so that a team can focus less on DB administration tasks and can focus more on Customer Experiences and Product Wellness, Queries monitoring/Indentification of slow queries, Query recommendations.
Database Scalability, Availability is very high
Migration Assistant so we can easily migrate the database from any platform to IBM DB2
Cons
Documentation needs bit attention as we have to find many things which can be found very easy
Good UI for monitoring, user can create own custom DB dashboards
Likelihood to Recommend
Products which are at very high scale in Storage, traffic patterns, Live analysis, realtime streaming, Transactional workload. IBM's Db2 is a jack of all these above mentioned trades. IBM's Db2 is not suitable the very small scale workload as it is bit expensive.
It can be used in both ways with or without relational concepts which helped with the current requirement of our business module where we need to be able to store data of both nature, structured and unstructured for us to help minimize the data loss which is incredibly sensitive and important for the business growth and fulfilling product needs.
Pros
XML structured data storage
Relational data storage
Materialized query table
Cons
Online backups need to be taken only in an offline environment which is quite troublesome because you don't always have the option to go offline.
Extensibility for buffer pool size in case of large data sets sometimes some tables could need more size for storing which is not possible at the moment.
Could be a lot more handy if they could introduce temporal tables like the ones in ms SQL.
Likelihood to Recommend
it is well-suited for mid-sized multipurpose data storage which is very likely in some integrated platform that requires multiple formats of data fetching and storage for pushing or pulling into or from the external or internal system.
