We needed to future-proof the next iteration of our website and be able to have non-website specialists contribute to uploading content. With Contentstack, we're able to really narrow down the user access and approval flows.
Pros
User roles and approval flows
Customisation
Easy user-friendly interface
Cons
Notification or recognition of duplicate images

It's great for large companies with multiple brands and content across multiple sites.
While it's a great product, it's probably overkill if you're a smaller company with only one main website. However, it is future-proofing even if you have just one site.

Based on my experience ContentStack delivered on all of their promises from both a service, technology and account standpoint. The responsiveness did not decline after we became a customer.
We used Contentstack in a pretty vanilla CMS setup. The client needed to be able to update the text content for their website without the requirement for Dev resource.
Frankly, I wasn't involved with the actual setup of the, but regularly contributed to the management of the content and layout. I found Contentstack relatively straightforward to work with, albeit the handling of image uploads / conversion could do with a little streamlining. It needs to be stated that whilst Contentstack was rock solid in use, the implementation of a CMS was perhaps overkill for a relatively simple website - the client however we're happy with the results.
Pros
Easy to manage once implemented
Good tools for the handling / conversion / compression of images.
Intuitive layout tools
Cons
Fiddly setup
The image tools, whilst good, are less than intuitive

In the most recent project in which we used Contentstack, the client requested to host their text content via CMS so that their Content Editors could manage the text and layout without requirements for developer intervention. Contentstack worked fine for this solution, however there is a worry that the solution was perhaps over engineered - as the site was relatively small and uncomplicated
