Cohesity is used by our internal IT department for backup and restore. It has been used mostly for backups using ESXi. MSSQL and Exchange will also be backed up with Cohesity. You can create BackUp groups and link them to vCenter Folders. As soon as you create a VM in this folder it will be automatically backup.
Also SQL Backup is easy to set up and once you know how the restore is also easy.
Pros
SQL backup.
ESXi backup.
Very fast restore.
File search.
File Protection
File Restore
Cons
Little issue that can't be solved yet.
Some problems with SQL restore.
Sometimes a little bugs in the GUI.

You can restore VMs very fast so your business is online in less than one hour. It's also possible to search your backup files and restore only that file that you need within seconds. I think Cohesity can be used in most of the business. You are able to back up a lot of products.

We were using Cohesity as a network file solution, however that has changed and now we us it as a backup solution. Currently it is being used in all 3 of our locations. The backup solution is being used to backup SQL and Oracle databases, File level backups, and VM backups.
Pros
Make adding items to be backed up easy.
The search feature for file restore is quick.
The restore process is quick.
Cons
Improvement in the accuracy of their documentation.

We are a cloud provider and have two Cohesity clusters. In these clusters, we have a total of 20 nodes (hardware C2500 and C2505) with a total of 24.5 TB Storage Capacity for Metadata. Our customers have protection jobs with their
own storage domain. With this, we provide our customers with a reliable backup solution. Customers can restore backups themselves, both on file and VM levels. Backups for O365 are also slowly getting there. Even when it is in the cloud, customers still want this environment to be backed up 'locally'. We ourselves make internal use of all the above functions and the Active directory backup option. We are very satisfied with this.
Pros
Backing all kinds data (VM, O365, NFS volumes, etc.)
Restoring data to vCenter
Cons
Make faster releases on the outcome of new products (e.g. update of VMware)
Backup other product like Sharepoint
Likelihood to Recommend
As a cloud provider for customers, but also for your own environment, it’s suitable for most of your use cases. At the moment, except for Sharepoint, I can't think of anything we need that we can't back up as a cloud provider.
Cohesity is being used by the infrastructure department as a backup solution for all our customers across the country.
Pros
Scale out storage
Support
Easy to use
Price / Performance ratio
Cons
KB-articles
Better third party plugins
Multitenancy support
Likelihood to Recommend
It's well suited as a scale-out back-up solution, where you can easily add more nodes to a cluster for extra backup storage. It's less appropriate in areas where multiple customers need access to the web interface, as there is currently no multitenancy support.

Use cases for Cohesity include secondary storage of file shares and backups for our environment. We are also doing some test and dev, but the secondary storage and backups are superb; would give a very high recommendation for anyone looking into hyper-converged secondary storage!
Pros
Pulling backups of files, VMs, and other services couldn't be simpler. Very intuitive and customizable!
We are using profile redirection and Cohesity handles this well, glad to make use of efficient network storage!
Dedup & compression have time, energy, resources, and lower overall costs while raising quality of service!
Cons
Could be simpler to do Test & Dev
Looking forward to a mobile application
Analytics are nice, could be more straight forward
