Great enterprise DNS service at a reasonable price.
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We use CloudfloorDNS as our primary public DNS service for a variety of domains.
Pros
- The service is very stable and reliable
- Support is great; the response time is impressive and they are always able to answer questions and resolve issues promptly
- They proactively monitor for threat actors and possible DDoS attacks; they automatically respond on our behalf, as well as contact us to let us know something unusual happened
Cons
- I think they meet all of our needs, so not much to say here; we switched from a very well known provider to save money and have been very happy with the service
Most Important Features
- Reliability is number one
- Customer service / technical support
- Ease of use
Return on Investment
- It takes one more thing of our list of things to manage; once it's working, we can focus on more important things
- I have received calls letting me know that we might be experiencing a DDoS attack; they had already remediated the threat by throttling the traffic from that source back so it did not overwhelm resources. Had that not been sufficient, they were already ready to spin up additional virtual servers to offload some overhead and make sure that we were not impacted by the situation. They continued monitoring until things were back to normal and followed up with a call to discuss. Very good service.
