I decided to compare recruiting platforms and the successes found within the different options. After two weeks, I realized I was wasting my time and money for the return that was promised to me by the sales team, and the on boarding team waited 3-5 days(weekend)to contact me with a reasonable schedule. At first it seem too good to be true, but CareerBuilder.com turned out to be a waste of time and money. I shut down all of my ads immediately. Told Derek to close my account. Derek was a little, indignant and combative, but the honest to God‘s truth is you will not get your money worth your investment return, no matter what these people say. And they want to hijack you for a year contract when CareerBuilder.com is a deadbeat platform. Derek explained a normal turnaround time to get a good qualified worker is 60 days. My turnaround time is 3 to 7 days. I would go out of business working with CareerBuilder.com. I couldn’t run fast enough.
Pros
They talk a good game
They convince you, they can provide you with your needs
Cons
More than seven applicants to apply in a days time.
Honesty taken more seriously
Integrity taken more seriously
Dissatisfied Customers’ taken more seriously.
Likelihood to Recommend
The on boarding training did not begin for three days, after deciding I would like to give them a shot. CareerBuilder.com is well-suited for companies that are not in a hurry to fill their job orders.

I commissioned CareerBuilder.com to assist me with recruiting efforts as I am the owner and operator of a staffing agency. CareerBuilder.com assured me that by using their platform, I would undoubtedly find the talent my clients needed! CareerBuilder.com gave me and my staff thorough training to ensure everyone knew how to operate the platform to receive optimal results. After 2 months of posting/advertising positions on CareerBuilder.com and not receiving the applicants as promised, I reached out to the CareerBuilder.com staff requesting help. The staff made subtle suggestions, which we implemented, but the results were the same, "zero candidates"! After multiple calls week after week, and 3 months with a zero yield on my return on investment, I requested to cancel my CareerBuilder.com subscription, as I felt at this point CareerBuilder.com was literally taking my money for nothing in return. In my experience, I was told by CareerBuilder.com that I was under a 1-year contract, and to opt out of the subscription, I would have to pay for the entire year $5K. In my experience, I asked CareerBuilder.com if they could release me from the contract since they could clearly see that they were not holding their end of the bargain, but they refused.
Pros
In my opinion, take your money for nothing in return
In my opinion, over promise and under deliver
In my opinion, deceive customers
In my opinion, hold you to the terms of their contract, but will not take accountability for lack of results produced
In my opinion, poor customer service
Cons
Fix customers issues
In my experience, stop taking money for services not rendered
In my opinion, hire staff who actually care about clients/customers
Fix problems when clients customers bring them to your attention
Allow month to month subscriptions like other platforms
In my experience, release customers from contacts when Career Builder can not deliver as promise.

If I could give them a zero, I would. In my experience, CareerBuilder.com literally took thousands of my hard-earned dollars ($5K) for NOTHING in return! You would think that since CareerBuilder.com could literally see that it was not producing the results promised, it would have considered releasing me from the contract or lowering the cost, in my opinion, but CareerBuilder.com made sure they collected every penny from me with zero consideration for customer satisfaction and failed to deliver the applicants. That told me everything I needed to know about CareerBuilder.com and how they really feel about customers. In my opinion, CareerBuilder.com primary focus is to get customers on the hook with a contract to legally guarantee they receive their money from you, but they can care less about the results their platform produces or customer satisfaction, “they just want your money”! I firmly believe CareerBuilder.com knows that their product does not work, hence the reason for the 1 yr contract is to basically guarantee company revenue for an entire year.
We used CareerBuilder to try and source a large number of candidates for positions throughout the USA. The goal of using it was to increase our application flow and try to find employees willing to work in the office. However, we did not meet either of those goals by using CareerBuilder.com and as a result, stopped using them.
Pros
System is easy to use
You can reach candidates across the USA.
Cons
We did not see a large amount of applications in comparison to Indeed.
The applications did not turn in to actual employees. We were more often than not ghosted by the candidates, even though the team followed up with them in a timely manner.

We did not get a large number of candidates. Indeed.com outperformed career builders in every category. CareerBuilder also increases our cost per hire because it did not translate to actually new hires. We spent money on leads that didn't turn in to employees even though my team followed up in a timely manner.
Our firm signed a 5-month contract with Careerbuilder to source office support candidates ranging from entry to executive level. During the 5 month term, I received two qualified candidates, neither completing an interview.
Pros
no success.
Cons
Customer Support is awful and nonresponsive
User experience is awful
Huge lack of qualified candidates
Employer portal is difficult to navigate
Likelihood to Recommend
I would not recommend CareerBuilder. The customer support from beginning to end is lacking. CareerBuilder charges for services the day you sign the contract but it takes weeks to get services fully up and running. We reached out to our accountant manager for support several times and his go-to response was, " I don't know or I'm not sure." The employer portal is not user-friendly. We did not successfully interview a qualified candidate from CareerBuilder.
Our organization uses CareerBuilder.com to source potential candidates for our clients' open job requisitions. CareerBuilder is one of a handful of resources we currently use for this function. It provides additional candidates and applicants that may not be found on some of the other major job/resume databases. The functionality allows our firm to communicate, create lists folders, and share candidates internally.
Pros
Advanced keyword and Boolean search options
Sourcing and identifying candidates by geographical location
Contacting potential candidates directly through the CareerBuilder platform
Creating original and generic email and job posting templates
Cons
Functionality can be more user-friendly for beginners.
More options to integrate with other platforms and Applicant Tracking Systems
Make it easier to create candidate lists, and send mass emails--while this feature is available, CareerBuilder.com does not make it easy for users to perform these tasks.
Add an option for the user to be notified when candidates in saved folders have removed their resume or are no longer available.

CareerBuilder.com is well suited for mid-level and lower-level recruitment. I have noticed that it does not target/attract the C-level or executive-level candidates. Therefore, it is not always resourceful when working on higher-level searches. I have also noticed there are many duplicate resumes that come up on searches, which can create some frustration during the sourcing process.
We use CareerBuilder.com to source candidates & for market data. It mostly solves the problem of setting expectations for market compensation info & candidate availability in a given market.
Pros
Supply & Demand is amazing
Candidate search is a good tool
Cons
CareerBuilder.com doesn't have the same quantity of candidates that it used to
Higher-level candidates don't post their resumes on CareerBuilder.com like they did 5 - 10 years ago
Likelihood to Recommend
CareerBuilder.com does great with its market data tools. It loads quickly now, where a year or 2 ago it was very bulky. I don't think it functions well as its own standalone ATS. Some serious improvement is needed on that side.
