Business Problems Solved

Canva is a versatile design tool that has been widely adopted by individuals and businesses for various use cases. Users have found Canva helpful in creating social media graphics, resumes, infographics, eBooks, and more. The platform offers limitless built-in templates and media options, making it easy for users to create cohesive and professional external marketing materials.

One of the key use cases of Canva is its ability to help businesses solidify their brand and expand their outreach. Sole proprietors and small businesses use Canva to create images for social media posts, e-mail headers, e-book designs, and PowerPoint slides. It is also used across different departments, including sales, executive offices, and marketing teams, to create content for announcements, event invitations, and community engagement opportunities.

Canva enables businesses to create high-quality designs without outsourcing, reducing costs for lean marketing teams. It is recommended to clients who don't have in-house graphic design capabilities. For example, restaurants use Canva to design menus, event posters, and print marketing materials. Businesses also rely on Canva to create marketing materials such as business Instagram and Facebook posts, logos, banners, and business cards.

Another prominent use case of Canva is in the creation of visual content for ministries and book projects. It allows users to present and promote their content in fun, vibrant, and high-quality visual formats. Canva is used to design blog banners, Amazon A+ banners, web banners, and social media images for book projects.

In addition to these use cases, Canva finds its application in designing ad mockups, graphs, infographics, handouts, flyers, social media visuals, email banners, and more. Its drag-and-drop editor along with various graphics options makes it easy for non-designers within an organization to create innovative presentations or promotional materials.

Overall, Canva's wide range of features and user-friendly interface make it a valuable tool for individuals and businesses alike, helping them create professional-looking designs without the need for extensive design skills or outsourcing.

OBSESSED with how easy this was to use!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Canva was a godsend in helping us bridge gaps in creating social media assets - quick & easy - when we needed professional-looking items, fast!

Pros

  • Social media content
  • GIFS & Movies
  • Logo design

Cons

  • Sometimes software bugs up and needs to be reloaded
  • Better support and optimization for mobile

Likelihood to Recommend

Canva is suited towards how experienced the user is and what it's needed for. If you're looking to make quick and easy assets that's great! But if you're looking for more complex designs, it'll help you out too. The more you learn the software the more it'll be able to give you!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Canva is used across our entire company. Every single person uses it--some more than others, but it is so easy and it helps keep our business branding on point and looking professional. It helps us to also share documents and templates so there is a uniformity to our customer-facing work. I also love how we can collaborate on projects together.

Pros

  • Canva is very easy and intuitive to use.
  • Onboarding new employees into the system is very simple and fast.
  • Keeps branding consistent with the ability to save and reference key colors, fonts , logos, etc.

Cons

  • I have two Canva accounts, my personal one and my business one, which also has a team component to it. I somehow have duplicated things on my login and can't figure out a way to delete the account that isn't being actively used. So if you have multiple accounts you'll want to assure you are setting them up correctly from the beginning. Perhaps watch a YouTube video on this before you dive in.
  • I wish I could take just a single page from a deck and then save it on its own or add it to another deck.
  • I am not sure if it does this, but I would like to be sharing my pitch decks with links to my Canva presentation and a history of who opened it, when, how long they were viewing it on each page, etc. and a password to view it or approved emails that can have access to the document.

Likelihood to Recommend

Incredibly easy to use. Great for solo business owners as well as large teams. Probably not my first choice of programs to design intricate new design images. Great for building out quick content for social media that is consistent with branding. The publishing feature on social has some issues that I think could be fixed. Would be nice to easily post across platforms the same Canva image/post without having to save each one then post.

Simple and Effortless Designing with Canva

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Canva is my organization's social media tool for providing graphics design services to our customers, I also use it for creating marketing material for the organization. I am the person who is responsible to use Canva, but my partner also use it only for quality assurance purpose. We use it to create video intros, outros, presentations, flyers, and logos according to our customers' requirements.

Pros

  • Canva has a very simple and intuitive workspace, which is loaded with different tools for editing.
  • Canva has a big cache of pre-built templates, videos, photos ready to use for any kind of designing work.
  • It requires no prior experience to start working on Canva, simply select the desired template and modify the text and image right away.
  • Play with pre-built elements for creative designs, choose from tons of shapes, lines, and stickers.
  • The 'Upload' feature is very handy when I need to insert my images or videos in a design project.
  • No tension of losing data, it saves all the work automatically and also keeps my work in handsome cloud storage.

Cons

  • The images and videos can only be used as provided by Canva, there is no way to edit or modify them.
  • It lacks drawing or freehand design tools, such as various shapes of brushes for painting or pens for signature and handwriting.
  • You cannot use multiple soundtracks or audio files, only one audio track is applicable for the entire project.

Likelihood to Recommend

Generally, Canva is a very good designing package for any kind of designing project, especially for organizations that do not have dedicated graphic designers. It also saves a lot of time, since there are a plethora of templates for any kind of design project, just select one, and within few drag-and-drop efforts the whole work is done within minutes.

It is not a good app for those who design unique graphics or logo projects, as there are no drawing or image modification tools available to work on.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Canva, due to its free-to-use nature, is used widely throughout our organisation by individuals for creating immersive infographics, beautiful advertisements, and a massive range of graphic design items. It has been used for wine labeling, software workflow training, items for use in product manuals, as well as to create media for corporate presentations.

Pros

  • Self-explanatory and easy to use making graphic design available to the untrained user.
  • Wide variety of templates for items from posters, to wine labels, taking the effort out of researching the core template.
  • Free to use for the basic requirements of most users thus allowing valuable currency to be spent professional logos and images used in the selected media.

Cons

  • The user interface could feature template items grouped in a more efficient way to allow easy identification.
  • Security of the platform could be greatly improved, especially after the recent hack that left millions of addresses and passwords out in the open.
  • A Canva integration with Shutterstock to provide access to a large library of stock photos would be a great improvement.

Likelihood to Recommend

Well Suited:
  • Creation of immersive infographics and explainer posters,
  • Creation of labels for wine bottles,
  • Marketing material creation for brochures,
  • Logo design.
Not Well Suited:
  • To replace a graphic designer (In-depth designs, coordination of layouts, colour schemes, and sizing are not always done well by untrained persons),
  • To review a design for you and give comment on colour schemes and layout,
  • To create large, text-heavy posters.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Canva is used almost every day to create email campaigns, social media posts, online ads, and to keep our branding formats listed for the entire team. Canva is used by the entire Design Team and Marketing Team. The business problem it addresses is keeping our digital materials standardized, and a way to quickly and easily design any marketing material and keep track of them. Canva provides so many templates and designs to help guide the creative process of creating our own materials, and we mostly use Canva as a starting point for our creatives and love having the ability to customize.

Pros

  • Easily create and customize any marketing campaign
  • Access to tons of fonts, images, and resources to guide your creativity.
  • Project history and brand asset tracking so your team stays up to date and can reference previously used designs.
  • Ability to create your own custom templates to use over and over.
  • They offer a design school/easy training so you can create better creatives.

Cons

  • Selecting multiple objects at once to move or copy tend to cause glitches and are difficult to process altogether.
  • There is no collaborative way to work with other members of your team on one project. It would be nice to see comments and edits from other members in an effort to design together.
  • Some icons, images and templates can be overpriced.

Likelihood to Recommend

Canva is perfect for the solo-preneur or graphic design beginner. There are so many designs, images and guides to help you get started and it really takes little customization to make a design your own or spark that creativity. Canva is perfect for designing email marketing and you could spend a few hours creating multiple sales emails and templates so all you have to do is send them when the time comes. Canva can also be used to help aid in website design. If you need icons, graphics, or pages designed, you can customize it in Canva and paste the entire graphic on the site so you don't have to use very much coding on your site. Canva is perfect for those 5-minute posts you need to throw together for keeping your business relevant on social media.

Canva is a great free ad generating software

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Canva is used for creating social media marketing material for small campaigns. The problem is that there are very few free programs that allow startups to create good flyer-like ads for social media. This is being used in the marketing department of the company and they love the product so far. There are a lot of customizations even with the free version.

Pros

  • Canva is very user-friendly because it took me about 2 minutes to figure it out.
  • Canva does not have a long setup process which is good for someone who wants to test it out.

Cons

  • There are limitations for the free version and the bill can add up if you want to used the paid options.
  • Canva needs to have more functionality in terms of editing portions like selecting unusual shapes of an image to crop.

Likelihood to Recommend

Canva is well suited for beginner marketing personnel with a limited budget. Canva is not suited for a large corporation that has money to hire graphic designers. Photoshop and Illustrator should be used instead.

Canva makes design and marketing accessible to people of all experience levels. The online software makes design, for any purpose whether it is for mass mailing or social media posting, easy.

Pros

  • Canva has great prepopulated templates!
  • Canva has numerous options for document sizing that directly correlate to stipulations of various social media sites or email headers.

Cons

  • Canva does not offer organization of your designs until you upgrade to the paid version. This upgrade is definitely worth.
  • Canva has limited free options for images and illustrations.

Canva has reduced the time we need for marketing purposes and we are able to make cohesive branding decisions now. I love how easy Canva makes it to create invitations, social media posts, email headers, cards, newsletters, and many more!

Great for Professional and Personal Use

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Canva is used primarily across the marketing department to make professional looking presentations and flyers to advertise new products, create an informative presentation, or create a flyer for an invite. It's incredibly easy to use Canva and the UI is super clean. I also love how you can create teams within the program which makes it super easy to share materials with different groups of people you're working on a project with. The templates are also a great feature because if you're someone who isn't great at design or wants a template to work off of because you're strapped for time they're beautifully put together.

Pros

  • Graphic Design
  • Templates
  • Collaboration amongst a team
  • Professional looking materials

Cons

  • Formatting images and fonts can be difficult at times
  • Have had issues with changes/saves syncing
  • You have to pay if you want upgraded features, but honestly the free version itself (depending on what you need the program for) are awesome and should be sufficient for the average person

Likelihood to Recommend

I think it works best for smaller companies or individuals. The only reason I say that is because typically larger companies have specific stationary/formatting/colors/etc., that they want all corporate materials to be printed on. However, if you're strapped for time and need something very clean and professional looking, Canva can provide that for you.
