  • Flexibility with local drive
  • Secure access

Cons

  • Sync can be a little buggy
  • Troubleshooting is not very intuitive

Likelihood to Recommend

- Daily scenarios, such as saving and editing work files that I work on
- Requesting for other workers to review my work and to edit as necessary
- Forgetting to bring my work laptop somewhere and being able to access important files without worrying about carrying my work laptop around everywhere
- Accessing files from my mobile device in situations when I am not able to access my work laptop

Box - Just as great as its competitors!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Weve been using Box to share information with external vendors. Its mostly been used by myself and people in quality who needs to be sharing documents with external providers without providing access to our company shared drives.

Pros

  • Simple and easy interface
  • Good permission control
  • Solid security measures

Cons

  • Design really resembles other similar programs...
  • The desktop sync version and MS word sync functions are a bit slow

Likelihood to Recommend

For my needs, they are satisfactory. No better or worst than competitors. I have used them for sharing information with out-of-organization users, people had no problem accessing files on Box. The only thing is that people are less familiar with Box than its competitors.

Box is making never-before-possible tasks a reality in the Biotechnology arena

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Box fulfilled communication needs and the ability to share multiple file types with project teams and vendors outside the company. Marketing teams access presentations and marketing collateral during meetings with clients without the need to download those materials ahead of time. Most times we are under pressure to gather numbers from a variety of sources and unite them into one document, Box helped us connect data from different sources, connect dots from region to region, and from device to device.

Pros

  • Enabled collaboration and file sharing efficiency while keeping data safe
  • High mobile productivity and time-intensive document management
  • Constant communication with internal and external collaborators

Cons

  • It cost me a huge amount of time to group all the files and export the list
  • Some files did not display in alphanumerical order despite being numbered
  • Better to be sure of the exact location of a file to make searching of the file easy

Likelihood to Recommend

Box is the perfect platform to enable secure collaboration even in mobile environments while integrating with existing applications. We deployed Box as the primary platform for managing and collaborating on content. Despite requiring more time to learn than other legacies on-premise content management solutions, Box enabled more efficient and secure access to content on desktops and mobile devices.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Box has been a great find for us over the years in dealing with other cloud storage software. It has all the amazing features to become the top-notch product in the market. Overall, Box is the best cloud managing software available in the market. Some drawbacks need to be correct but other than it is a complete package for storing information securely and safely. Moreover, it is a safe and secure collaborative platform.

Pros

  • The main feature that I like the most in Box is that it makes collaboration seamless, workers can easily check the documents any time and make changes according to the needs.
  • Box manages and backs up all of your files on its cloud servers, and provides a very nice interface for creating, viewing, editing, and collaborating on the most commonly used file types (PDF, XLS, DOC, etc.).
  • Over the past few years, Box has built on top of its basic cloud storage management with a host of other tools, such as workflows, AI, monitoring, and analytics.
  • It is helping us to make good connections with clients and our workers themselves as to its syncing and viewing feature to all is very much helpful and easy to go.

Cons

  • The platform becomes slow while dealing with large files.
  • It becomes slow and takes a lot of hardware used to run all operations effectively.
  • Storage usually depends on the pricing at the early stages which can be upgraded by paying the amount which is a big problem of losing customers.

Likelihood to Recommend

I would recommend this robust and automated platform to all organizations to use as the main storage platform which is providing unlimited uploads and unlimited storage for storing the files document. A secure and safe platform is the plus point of it. It gives a wide platform for keeping everything secure.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Box is one of those very few Content Management Software which has been used all across our organization and as a product that has helped us extensively in keeping everything coordinated and accessible. I am getting reliable service from this tool. It has fantastic functionalities. Features like the utilization of Box Sync gives you leverage to deal with many many documents which have helped with the issue of time consumption to quite a great extent.

Pros

  • The feature of Box that gives you the leverage of Cloud-Native Security is great because it protects all the files and documents easily.
  • This product has become one of the most top storage applications such as iCloud and even Google Drive.
  • As it has become the best storage application so it just safely saves all the hard drive space in the Cloud which leverages users with so much extra storage.
  • The software can be used by anyone in the organization and it establishes an atmosphere where all workers work without any hard and fast rules.

Cons

  • There are many good things about this software but there are a few cons as well like I personally think some more content on the desktop browser for viewing purposes could have been great.
  • The Multifactor facet in the software was not too useful and it was very hectic so that needs improvement.
  • There should be some more content available for viewing on the app home page for a better user experience.

Likelihood to Recommend

I have been using Box for more than 2 years. In my opinion, this platform is great software and it just gels up super efficiently and effectively with the organizational needs. Moreover, this is one of those few products which is widely accepted in many different companies. However, I think that this software can deliver great results in small and medium-sized businesses.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Box gives us the flexibility and ability to keep all of our files securely in the cloud and also make them available when needed at any time. It helps us to share documents with clients, employees and coworkers without always having to upload them to an email in order to send them, just send the Box link of the file uploaded on this platform. It makes our lives easier since it can save storage space and everything is safeguarded in the Box cloud without loss of any of the files.

Pros

  • Easy to sync all files between the cloud and internet connected devices that Box can support.
  • No cumbersome setups to use Box.
  • Uploading files is very easy with drag and drop, also when managing files within this platform.
  • It is very simple how you can safely manage your files, allowing you to select who can see each file that has been uploaded.

Cons

  • The function of creating a document within Box is not very useful since they do not have the same functions as Office, so it is better to create or edit and then upload to this platform.
  • Sometimes it takes awhile to preview a file, no matter what type of internet connection you have.
  • They should create plans that only update improvements that are needed, such as the capacity or weight of a file to be uploaded.

Likelihood to Recommend

Box is simply an almost-complete solution to everything that has to do with storing and managing files in the cloud. The truth is that the prices adapt to the type of person or company that needs your services. It is very practical and easy to use so I fully trust this platform.

Box Makes Sharing Easy

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Box is used for document sharing and storing around the globe. It allows us to save space on our individual hard drives and gives us a central space to work together. Version control is a great feature. Being able to go back and see work that has been done when completing projects with different team members is a big plus. It also provides a way to go back if new work isn't going in the right direction.

The share features are excellent as well. The ability to set multiple view profiles and control who can see or do what within a specific folder allows us to have central locations for common documents.

Pros

  • Sharing.
  • Revision Control.
  • Permissions.
  • Folders.

Cons

  • Online editing.
  • Desktop versioning.

Likelihood to Recommend

Box is a great platform for document storing and sharing. It's simple and quick to use. It works best when new teams are created and there is a project we are all working on together. Items are name, date, and time-stamped so it's easy to see who is doing what. It's great to be able to easily see what version a document is on right on the main folder screen as well as the last uploader.

Box has added some new protections to try and prevent multiple people working on the same document at the same time without knowing, but I have yet to test them out. That has been an issue in the past that has led to some weird file uploads where now there are multiple saves of the same document, but the bright side is that the documents are still saved and work isn't lost.

Box! Organize Your Company!

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Box is being used across the whole organization. Any important files or documents are uploaded on there in folders and then shared with our entire Corporate and Management team. It serves as a central location for us to find files we may need from day-to-day. It helps everyone stay more organized and not have to go searching numerous places for a document.

Pros

  • Very organized.
  • Ease of use.
  • Unlimited space.

Cons

  • I haven't found many cons.
  • You have to set up sharing correctly.
  • It really is very easy to use.

Likelihood to Recommend

Box is well suited for large organizations that need a central place to store important documents. These documents can then be shared with everyone in the organization or just a select few people. Where it would be less appropriate is if only 1 person needed access. It really is better for larger organizations instead of sending out mass emails.

Box's lunch is being eaten by Microsoft

Rating: 6 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Box was being used for keeping a central repository of all service materials (manuals, software, part lists) for all of our service people globally, in place of an internal service resource website. This is because Box's offline capabilities using Box Sync and the Box mobile app were simple and reliable enough for use.
We were also using the public linking feature to share certain files and folders to customers who requested specific things.
Other departments were using it as cloud storage and team storage space.

Pros

  • Offline sync.
  • File sharing.

Cons

  • Integration with Office 365.
  • Read-only Box sync.

Likelihood to Recommend

Box works well if the permissions and fine controls of read and write access by groups are not important. But where it falls short for us is the ability to have read-only offline sync, comparable to Microsoft OneDrive (business version, using SharePoint Online as the underlying technology).

Its ability to have frictionless public sharing was a big plus, however. It all depends on the security needs of your business. If you need and integrate AD credentials and security groups, Box is not the way to go.
