Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Boomi as a "middle man" to pipe data between disparate systems in our organization. It replaced a more expensive and time-intensive application we had in terms of administration effort, so its been very useful to us.

Pros

  • Allows disparate systems to speak to each other
  • Its fairly easy to setup
  • It's been very reliable thus far

Cons

  • Managing SSL certificates seems fairly non-intuitive
  • The organization of configuration within the cloud application is cumbersome and somewhat confusing unless you know the app very well
  • They seem to move things around a lot on web app, so that adds to the confusion

Return on Investment

  • This application helps keep costs down to automated what would otherwise be repetitive manual tasks... or solutions we'd have to build in-house, which would also be time and cost prohibitive
  • I have no real negatives to mention in this respect

Boomi is used as a cloud-based Enterprise Integration platform at the organizations I have worked for. We used Boomi to integrate with various systems in different industries, such as supply chain, finance, and auctioning domains. Boomi is basically an iPaaS (Integration Platform as a Service) that allows for no-code / low-code integrations between systems in an easy and intuitive manner, taking out most of the complexities inherit in integrating data and softwares

We have several SAP clients who needs custom solution as an extension of SAP, it is mostly in form of Web Application or Mobile Application.

Boomi plays integral role in integration to & from SAP backend to any frontend. it allows widely used APIs that are standardized under OpenAPI standards. it also provide Odata service integration with which we can directly communicate with SAP. this allows us to query the SAP like GraphQl does. we get control of what we want from SAP rather than creating new API for every use case.
