Blackbaud eTapestry is a donor management solution that helps growing nonprofits build a stable foundation for success, beat fundraising goals, and catalyze growth. eTapestry boasts more than 6,000 nonprofits and institutions as users, who manage and track fundraising performance, engage new supporters, and maximize existing donor relationships with the software.

Constituent profiles in eTapestry are customizable and provide a complete view of supporters and their interactions with other oganizations from a single screen.
The eTapestry home screen can be customized to surface whatever is important to the organization—progress towards goals, campaign performance, recent gifts, top supporters, upcoming events, and key performance indicators that provide a clear view of fundraising performance.
eTapestry comes with out-of-the box reports that can help segment the supporter-base and develop strategies for engagement and outreach.

A helpful resource for your whole team!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use this product regularly to manage our prospect and donor relationships. All reports are pulled from here to gain relevant and updated information. If we didn't have this system for our whole team to keep track of individuals, we wouldn't be as strong. There are a variety of different products within Blackbaud eTapestry, and we use a good number of them.

We used Blackbaud eTapestry for our Donor Management system for our organization since 2012.

We used Blackbaud eTapestry as our donor database - we kept contact information and history on individual and organizational records, we tracked our donations (monetary, gifts-in-kind, etc.), and ran reports for analysis. Blackbaud eTapestry was good for the level of donor stewardship and the number of donor records at our mid-size organization.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Blackbaud eTapestry in our day to day fundraising activities. We use it to store supporter information, document donations, run queries and reports, compose and send communications and to make bank deposits. This software system supports all of our fundraising needs in one software system.

Blackbaud eTapestry is very easy to use and is user friendly. Credit card transactions can be made seamlessly. Recording data has never been easier!

The program is also fully customizable for data fields. If you have volunteers, different affiliates, personal information or anything in particular you want to track, you can!

Cons

  • Would like to see a better integration with website forms. At this time, they are not as customizable as one would like.
  • Mobile giving needs to be a priority to be added seamlessly.
  • Accuracy of the email and social media finder is subpar.
  • Wealth screening cannot be trusted. Could be for the wrong person with the same name.
  • Price point for the database itself is high for small organizations and has dramatic increases.
  • Credit card and processing costs and the payment enablement fee of $600 a year is unacceptable.

Return on Investment

  • With the rising costs of the program, Blackbaud eTapestry has driven our ROI down. In 2024, we had a 62% increase in the cost of the software alone. In 2021 and 2022, our fundraising was down, so with a lower revenue stream and extensively increasing costs, Blackbaud eTapestry may not be your best choice.
  • The positive impact is that the program is simple to use and to learn how to operate the program is easy. Data entry is a breeze and so is reporting. We love these features.
  • We do not use the email finder service and had to remove and manually enter the emails and social media names we gather from our constituents. These services did not return the accurate emails or social profile names, therefore it cost us more time to remove them and identify the appropriate ones.
  • Direct integration with Blackbaud Merchant Services and the ease of exporting to QuickBooks is a plus for our small organization.
  • During budget time it took more than three months to get an accurate quote for renewing the software (and a quote that was not someone else). The customer service and account management lacked communication, lacked an understanding of who they were communicating with and has not made a positive impact on our organization.

eTapesty for all your nonprofit needs in fund development.

Pros

  • Daily, we are entering data about our partners in mission. We use that data to create queries and to run reports. eTapestry has made our work easier.
  • Our processes are now streamlined with eTapestry. We know what we need daily, weekly, monthly, etc. and eTapestry gets the work done for us.
  • Deposits and credit card transactions are easily managed by eTapestry.

Cons

  • We conduct a lot of donor visits. It would be nice to have a mapping option to layout donors in a certain area and map out the visits, rather than us using Google.

Return on Investment

  • eTapestry has allowed us to diversify the ways we organize and reach out to our donors.
  • eTapestry has added in the planned giving component, so now we have to opportunity to walk our donors through the planned giving stages and track our means of communication.
  • In the last year, eTapestry took the journal entries and separated out the mass contacts (such as mass mailers, thank you batches, etc...). This has helped us manage our partners in mission more easily and to see the big picture of the donors giving history.
