Our nextgen Barracuda CloudGen Firewall F380 has been a key part of the company's protection and security. It was acquired about 2 years ago from a reseller and since then it has been our network edge defense. The appliance is complete and in addition to a firewall, it has other advanced protection features such as URL filtering, application control, VPN and anti-malware. We use a topology with 2 appliances in active-standby, the first one is the main one and the second one is for redundancy. With our scenario, the network is always very safe from attacks and vulnerabilities.
Pros
Increased level of network protection against threats.
Visibility and control of applications that users access.
URL Filtering to block unauthorized or prohibited websites on the internal corporate network.
Protection against diverse malware at the edge of the network.
Firewall redundancy with another backup appliance.
Cons
The url filtering and application control licenses are not perpetual and need to be renewed every year.

With the nextgen Barracuda CloudGen Firewall F380 we created a robust and redundant environment with 2 appliances deployed in the datacenter, one active and the second in standby. Deep packet inspection and layered application layer 7 control strengthens our network security and protects us from existing attacks and vulnerabilities. The experience has been positive with solid protection with easy management and control of the network. The firewall also allows homeoffice using VPN remote for us employees to use for work.

We use Barracuda secure SD-WAN mainly to boost application performance by ensuring a reliable connectivity to remote sites and users. There are rush hours where traffic from cloud apps and off-network users increases and crowds the network. With barracuda we are able to boost performance of crucial apps and high priority projects in a very secure manner. This way, my top-priority bots don't experience downtimes.
Pros
Uses next-gen firewalls to assure data security
Scales dynamically despite the traffic to match workloads
Cons
It Still cannot combat link redundancy speedily. One time a network link failed and it took quite a while before restoring traffic from the backup link.
Likelihood to Recommend
Whether it's SaasS or internet-bound traffic, Barracuda is capable of directly sending internet with appropriate security inspection with no backhauls. In my department, we achieve consistent network link pooling, data caching optimization for bots handling critical workloads. There is always enogh bandwidth for applications with Barracuda optimization. We are however not completely satisfied with their link redundancy handling capabilities as I've explained.

As MVP this is being used for setups in Azure i demo / develop. The reason to use Barracuda in my opinion in Azure is because they truly try to leverage al the cloud native benefits and combine that with their proprietary product without sacrificing the benefits from both.
Pros
ARM Deployment
Azure DEVOPS integration
FW, IPS/IDS, AV, Application Filtering and so on :)
Cons
better box lever integration with Azure CLI (within secure limits)
Likelihood to Recommend
Very likely,
The product and the team behind it make it a winner.
Barracuda NG Firewalls are in place for my company as well as every client that requires the purchase of a firewall. There are several tiers of firewalls and they come packed with security features and services.
Pros
Barracuda NG Firewalls are extremely customizable for any environment and support all configurations with their firewall rules.
Security features such as hardware-level AntiVirus and Advanced Threat Protection, as well as SSL Inspection as all traffic passes through the appliance.
Control Center is far superior to other products for globally managing numerous firewalls and creating and deploying templates on-the-fly.
VPN connections have never been easier. Once configured within Control Center, drag and drop is all that is needed to connect two Internet-connected firewalls.
Cons
Very complex and steep learning curve to get up to speed.
Multiple ways to configure for the same service or feature. Takes time to determine "your" customized build.
Interface can sometimes be clunky when trying to determine how it's organized or arranged. Again, steep learning curve.
Likelihood to Recommend
There are multiple tiers of models for the Barracuda NG Firewalls, but there is a firewall for any size company. Once the steep learning curve of the configuration is surpassed, they are one of the most powerful business firewalls available. Highly, highly recommend and the support from Barracuda is incredible.
We are a reseller of Barracuda products. Not only do we sell, implement, support etc. the appliances, but we also use them in our environment. Since installing these devices at our office (and close to 50 clients) the amount of malware infections has been reduced exponentially. They are a VERY cost effective, secure product and anytime we have needed support, they have been able to resolve our issues in a reasonable amount of time.
Pros
Securing the environment(s)
Feature rich
Easy to manage (using multi-tenant cloud console)
Cons
The NG product line has a small learning curve over prior lines.
If you aren't diligent with spec'ing out the correct model/size with the features you plan to use, you may purchase a unit that doesn't have enough resources (and will need to be upgraded). This is not a Barracuda issue though.
Sandbox feature for emails can be sluggish at times (if scanning very large attachments).
Likelihood to Recommend
Anyone that has a business and/or stores client data MUST have a next generation firewall, zero exceptions. If you have multiple sites, configuring a VPN between them takes less than a minute to configure. The surprising thing is that these devices have many more features than their competitors but often cost less. Throw in the 4-year refresh cycle and you never need to purchase another appliance.
