Pros

  • It greatly improves end-user self serviceability.
  • Avatier integrates with multiple AD domains if you are part of a larger organization that is blended.
  • Custom packages with your company logo for the login window app make for a very professional touch for a better end-user experience.

Cons

  • The only issue I have come across is that if a user begins to reset their password, but doesn't remember all of their security questions, sometimes the tool triggers a reset even if they didn't successfully reset themselves. This becomes a problem in an environment that has password complexity requirements, such as not being able to change your password again within a 24 hour period.

Return on Investment

  • It has saved the Service Desk, as well as on-site support techs, countless hours of work via phone or face-to-face interactions to reset or unlock a domain password, thus saving a large amount of money from the lack of wasted time.
